I was super excited to be lucky enough to trial this product. I had been eyeing this up for awhile but I was too scared to buy it incase it wasn't as good as it had been made out to be.
I shellac my own nails and when using shellac it is super important to remove all the cuticles as they can mean an early death to my gorgeous polish! I was hoping this cuticle eraser and balm would mean I could skip, or cut back on moisturizing, applying cuticle oil and pushing cuticles back, I was sadly mistaken.
The main ingredients in this cuticle eraser and balm are White Tea and Cucumber, which create a very intense smell, I'm still undecided if I like the smell or not, it's a very fresh smell but I think it might be a little over whelming. The packaging is quite nice, the product is a swirl of green and white balm representing the cucumber and white tea, although I had expected it to be a deeper pan of product, especially for the price.
While this is a lovely product it is not as impressive at removing cuticles as they make it out to be. I wouldn't say it removed up to 80%, I'd say it maybe removed 30% at the most, meaning I still had to push all my cuticles back anyway. As for the moisturizing/balm side of it, it was nice but it wasn't super moisturizing, I would still use a moisturizer anyway as it's not really suitable for use over your whole hand. I found it felt a little greasy but also left a tacky feeling as well, I wasn't a huge fan of how it felt and I had to go wash it off my hands before I could continue with my polish or the polish wouldn't have adhered to my nails properly.
All in all, this would be great if you just wanted to give your cuticles a little bit of special treatment and moisture, but if you're hoping it's going to work magic on those pesky cuticles, I wouldn't get your hopes up. I don't think this product is for me personally, if anything it added extra steps to my manicure routine which is the opposite of what I was hoping for.
This balm does a pretty good job at keeping my cuticles soft, but the 'erase' part of the product doesn't seem to do anything for me. I still have to use a seperate Sally Hansen cuticle removing lotion with an orange stick or clippers. The balm is kind of sticky to apply, so I find myself using other hand creams or cuticle lotions that absorb better instead. For nearly $20 I don't feel like it's worth the money.
Tips: You'd be better off to purchase Lush Lemony Flutter which is about the same price, has more product and absorbs better.
