Gorgeous metallic finish!

I bought an amazing metallic blue shade around 18 months ago and it's still going strong. It's a very impressive polish for the price (I believe it was close to $5 making it a bit pricier than my other Essence polishes), the colour payoff in two coats is very bold, bright, and super shiny and metallic, it's almost chrome. I love anything bold and this one is a real eye catcher. Formula wise, the Essence polishes all last well on me and I don't bother with a base or top coat. .

Tips: My only gripe with Essence products is they can be so hard to get, and many products (such as the shade of this that I bought) are limited edition. With Farmers being the only stockist in nz (though you may have luck online), their shelves can be quite empty, so if you see something you like, don't hesitate - it probably won't be there when you go back!

Shade: I Nude It

Actively searched out this item as it was on my "I want" list. Picked 2 up for $2 online. I am not usually a "nude" shade fan but I really like the way this nail polish looks.

Easy application. The first coat was very streaky. However after the second coat was applied, completed nail looked even and finished.

I love the affordability of the brand and would love to purchase more shades in the range.

Tips: Apply 2 coats for a finished, non streaky look.

Awesome, Affordable Colours

I picked up this polish in 44 Rebel at Heart on my last visit to Farmers, and have quite enjoyed wearing it. Rebel at Heart is a grungy but also sophisticated black/silver glittery/shimmery polish from The Metals range. It's both understated and chic, which I definitely like about it.

The packaging is cute, like all Essence products, and I love that this brand doesn't test on animals. The brush isn't quite as user-friendly as the ones from Essence's Gel range, but it's still fine to use. The polish applies evenly, dries quickly, and layers well. It hasn't worn as well as I would have liked during the week, maybe only lasting 2-3 days with zero chips? But overall a nice colour and quite good quality.

cheap, cheerful and awesome

Essence is such an amazing brand for how little it costs, and the I Love Trends Nail Polish range is no exception.

I have shade 44: rebel at heart, which is a metallic multi-toned shimmer polish that tracks through from silver to charcoal grey, and finishes in a very similar way to OPI Liquid sand, albeit less matte, and not quite so sandpapery in feel. It's *gorgeous*

The bottle is a simple one, round, with a flat top and bottom. The base is clear, the cap black, and the brush is a good width. Speaking of the brush, it's very easy to use; application is simple to perfect with this.

It lasts well, especially with base and top coat, and looks really fabulous - noone would ever guess this is less than $4 nail polish!

Tips: you can't go wrong, buy a few of these!

Essence I Love Trends Nail Polish

I love Essence, everything Essence. Cheap but definately not nasty. I own a few products and I am more than happy with them, this nail polish is no exception.

I actually managed to buy this while on holiday on the Gold Coast. There was a big stand with many products on it.

The range of colours is really great with everything from subtle nudes to nice brights.

The bottle is a typical round glass bottle with a palstic lid.

The brush has a generous amount of bristles and holds a good amount of polish to enable you to give your nail a great coverage without double dipping.

The coverage is good with a second coat [which is typical] and with a clear top coat will last a good few days, depending on what your day entails.

When it comes time to remove, I use any type of nail polish remover and it does a great job.

I will continue to use this nail polish and when I see it instore I will repuechase it in other colours.
