Not much more than pretty packaging.

I purchased two of the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks after looking for a new, everyday shade and formula. These promised to be non-drying, pigmented and easy to apply, all packaged in a bright, girly tube. I purchased Peony and Nude. Peony wasn't the right pink for me, so I have only worn Nude.

Of course I have to mention the packaging. It’s gorgeous – girly, fun and fabulous whilst remaining sturdy and practical. I know many people don’t like the ‘unhygienic’ furry applicator, but I find that it provides an easy, accurate application. I don’t share my lip products and I don’t suffer from cold sores, so it doesn’t seem unhygienic for me. Compared to a standard lipstick or pencil product, this option does not deteriorate or loose its shape.

The formula is . . .fine. It is more drying than I expected, but I suppose the longevity of the product makes this necessary. When my lips are already a little dry, I can’t stand applying this product. It feels icky and really highlights the dryness of my lips. Although this product doesn’t immediately dry my lips out, I wouldn’t wear it two days in a row. Let that be a warning for those who struggle with dry lips. If my lips are in good condition this product is great. The pigmentation is high and it lasts a solid 4-5 hours. The shade does deepen on my lips after an hour. However the formula and shade isn’t anything special. It doesn’t make me feel fabulous, it does complete my makeup look, and it certainly doesn’t gather compliments from anyone in the street. It is fine, and I will use it, but I won’t be reaching for it on a special occasion or on a day where I need the confidence of Beyonce.

Final verdict: The packaging of this product is typical Too Faced – gorgeous and original. However the product inside is plain and drying. If there was a particular shade that you fell in love with – you may be able to combine it with a lip balm and be happy with the results, but I personally won’t be repurchasing.

Tips: Make sure you want this for more than just pretty packaging.

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

I was so grateful to be given this lipstick from a beautiful BR babe. The shade she gifted me is Melted Fuchsia, such a vibrant pink.

It comes in a small fuchsia coloured tube with a gold lid and writing. Very pretty.

It is super easy to apply and didn't bleed on my lips either which is great. The staying power is amazing! Lasting for around 6 hours before it needed to be touched up.

I did however find it to be quite drying as it is a matte lipstick so I suggest applying lip balm before hand and at the end of the day to keep your lips hydrated.

I personally feel that the price is high considering that it is such a small tube which is the only reason why I won't be purchasing any other shades :( but it's Too Faced which is a fabulous brand and I would highly recommend it.

Longest. Wear. Ever.

One cannot simply make a claim of a product being long wearing and not live up to that. And I haven't come across anything that has lasted as well for so long as this lipstick. I have two of these, in Peony and Fig. And they won't be the last.

The application can be a bit tricky. I like to use a lip brush to get things a bit more precise. I also suspect that my Peony applicator is a bit of a dud as it is so hard to get the product out, but some kiwi DIY with a toothpick fixed it for the time being.

On the lips, the product is opaque, long wearing, but a bit drying. Definitely go for a lip balm before application. Both Peony and Fig lasted a good five hours, surviving multiple coffees, shakes, and a lunch before needing a slight touch up as bits had gone a bit patchy, but the colour hadn't vanished greatly. They don't have any distinct smell either and I've noticed that the applicator tip presses down when you close off the tube, which I think will help the product last longer, correct me if I'm wrong!

Tips: Exfoliate, moisturise and use a lip brush for a more precise application.

Its fig'n amazing

This was the first melted lipstick i remember being released, and it seems like it created a new trend, which is amazing. I will always say too faced is a company who is creative and innovative, and leads the way in the beauty world. Just a personal opinion.

This liquid lipstick is packaged to perfection. The colour i have is fig, and it comes in a purple plastic squeeze tube, with the words melted down the side. The packaging is embellished with hint of metallic gold lid.

The design of this product is a little different for a lipstick. once you twist off the lid, you see a slanted white foam tip applicator. and when you squeeze the lipstick, the lipstick is released through tiny little holes within the sponge. A really unqiue design, but i find it so easy to apply lipstick with precision using this, so another bonus.

The lipstick in fig is a purple mauvey colour, which is my favourite colour to wear of lips. The formula is pigmented and creamy. Not to mention long-lasting. However, it is also very drying, so remember to exfoliate and moisturize your lips beforehand.

One negative about this product is it is not completely matte, and it does seem to transfer onto things such as my cup, so it doesnt completely set. Still i do love how it looks.

Overall, i really like this lipstick, and would love to try more from this range.

Favourite lipstick!

I bought two of these, because I saw them on YouTube and it got me interested. Once i tried them, i fell in loooove! The formular is great, the colours are so beautiful and crazy and the hold is amazing! The only downside of these, is that the colour tends to transfer a bit, but for me, it is not noticable.

Tips: Exfoliate lips before applying and buy all the colours!

Melted Chihuahua

I love the packaging. comes in a tube package with a rose gold finished lid and a matte tube with the colour of the tube being the colour of the product.

It has a a sponge angled applicator which stays fixed to the tube. Kind of like a combo of doe foot and lip gloss but as said fixed to the tube on a slant making it easy to apply.

It comes out quite wet and sets dry. So it's a wet to dry matte look. I love the effect it has and it feels so smooth on. It has good stay power and doesn't bleed out but it doesn't hurt to use a lip pencil liner aswell. It has a scent aswell not anything pungent. A delicate smell. It makes me feel luxurious when using it and I get complement when wearing it. It doesn't dry out the lips at all. I'm going to buy more. I recently brought my tube for $12 brand new from a friend in the USA who will now get me products. Stoked.

Tips: Prior to application prime your lips. Or use a lip liner. also put a lip gloss balm across your lips.

Unique application for awesome colours

I have these in the original and the new metallic versions.

Currently owned shades: Melted Villain, Melted Chihuahua, Metallic Melted Violet and Metallic Melted Jelly.

These cute lip products come in a tube container made out of flexible yet strong plastic with a metallic golden lid, the outer body of the tube is the colour of the product or what the inside should look like on your lips, this however varies slightly with each person. Inside the nib point of the tub has a foamy cushion tip that has 5-6 little holes in the centre, squeeze the tube and the liquid lipstick seeps up through these holes onto the application pad for you to smooth onto your lips. Application is easy with this foam pad you simply swipe it back and forth and the creamy liquid inside evenly applies to your lips. There has been no feathering or drying effects from this formula as it doesn't dry matte like some liquid lipsticks but stays in a soft sheen state, especially the metallic versions which has a soft metal effect that looks wet on the lips but doesn't move around on your lips much at all.

Wearing these colours is very comfortable as they don't rub off quickly but keep an almost buttery softness to your lips. lasting a good 3-4 hours before touch up is needed unless you eat or drink which is reasonable for this type of lipstick. There is no stickiness or drying from these lipsticks and I have been really impressed by just how they look as packaged as well as on my lips.

Quick recap of shades owned:

Villain - Intense plum purple that sits on the lips with a hint of deep blue to it, this is the most firmest liquid out of all owned but still it is not hard to apply and remains sheen and buttery on the lips.

Chihuahua - A nice beige nude colour that is slightly on the orange side, or so it appears on my fair skin

Metallic Jelly - A soft purple with a silver metallic effect that keeps a wet look on the lips without the sticky effect of a gloss

Metallic Violet - Appears as a light pink shade rather than violet coloured with a silver metallic effect that gives that wet look without gloss effect. This is my least favourite of the 4 owned due to the pink shade not being that complimentary to my skin tone.

Too faced violet

I have had the good faced violet for a few months now and I love the staying powder of these lipsticks! The first time I wore mine was a night out clubbing, I didn't have to reapply and it did not bleed out. It's so hard to find a good lipstick that stays on and looks good. These are worth the price. Though I find it hard to get a defined line with the applicator so I line my lips first then use a lip brush

Nice formula and applicator

I have this in "Melted Nude". I don't know why it's described as glossy because it appears matte on my lips.

The applicator feels nice and applies an even coating to my lips. I'm able to get a sharp lip line with this. The formula is long lasting, highly pigmented and not drying, however it is not transfer proof. It has a subtle sweet scent.

I would love to try the other colours.

Tips: Apply straight from the tube, no need for brushes or lip liners.

Gorgeous.

After lusting over these for a long time, I finally took the plunge and got Too Faced's Melted Kisses set. This included four melted kisses lipsticks in the shades Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Fuchsia and Melted Berry. All of these shades are available individually.

The shades can be described as;

Melted Nude - True to its name this is a nude lipstick. It is a kind of beige/brown nude with a little hint of pink.

Melted Peony can be described as a bright, yet subdued pink.

Melted Fuschia is a seriously bright pink with purple undertones and

Melted Berry is a warm, deep berry shade.

All of the lipsticks come in a tube that - true to every single Too Faced product I own, is beautifully packaged. The applicator is quite different to anything I have used, as it is a sponge tip. This is the only thing I am not in love with, as I find that application isn't 100% precise (at least not with my rogue hands anyway). It does feel soft on your lips when applying it though.

The lasting power of these isn't the best - I generally average about 2-3 hours before needing to reapply. Bear in mind though, that I drink all day and eat, so if you weren't doing either of those things then you will likely get longer wear out of these.

The pigmentation for all of the shades is super opaque. You need only one coat of product to completely cover your lips and this feels like a hydrating gloss (minus the stickiness). The finish is beautiful and shiny but it doesn't look like vinyl haha.

Overall I really love these, and if it weren't for the weird applicator these would get a full 5 stars. I definitely recommend trying these out if you are curious.
