Maybelline Superstay Matte Lip Ink Review

Well, I have to admit I absolutely loved the colour! when applying the product I found the applicator a little odd with a hole in the middle of the sponge-like end. Maybe this is a new thing but it did prevent me from having to redip to apply more and it didnt leak out when applying so that was great. The first day I used it found it lasted most of the day I was actually quite impressed as the most colour starts to disappear within hours but this product I managed to get a good 8 hours out of it, so a big thumbs up. The second day is where things fell apart a little I was disappointed at a function I went to my lip colour left lumpy lip ink on my wine glass and this wasn't just a small amount either it was clearly obvious (don't worry I know you are never going to prevent that) but compared to the other ladies my glass looked terribly worse and obvious. Overall I would use it again sparingly maybe with a non-sheen lip moisturiser to help prevent transfer and the colour is absolutely fantastic.

So excited to trial this! Im desperate to find a good long wearing lippy that doesn't come off the minute I have my first latte.

This lip ink comes in a nice matte style container that is easy to pop in your handbag. I chose the colour ‘15 Lover’ as I thought it would be a good versatile day to day type colour that I could wear to work, and I was right. This soft pink colour would suit a wide variety of looks/outfits. The wand is a arrow shape with a nice sharp end which is great for getting those nice cupids bows on point, love it! I only had to dip the wand once and that had enough product on it to do my entire lip surface. After application, it is sticky for quite a while which is a little off-putting as I felt I needed a gloss or something to set it. As the day went on, I had my latte, my morning tea, drank water and no lip prints, yay I’m really liking this and can probably over-look the stickiness. I did find that it started to wear later in the day but, it was pretty subtle and not too noticeable so if you were in a meeting you wouldn't feel the need for a quick trip to the ladies to re-apply.

Over all, I really love this product and now want to buy the other colour and at $22.99 that is not too bad but I may wait till it comes on special (so I can buy more he he).

I love this product. It stayed on all day even with all the coffee. I often give up on wearing lipsticks as I have to reapply so often but I didn't have to with this. The shade I tried was "Lover" which is a beautiful pink that wasn't too bright for me. It has a lovely fragrance to it also. Easy to apply and comes in a large 5ml. Amazing for the price too. I will be buying more of these.

I was super excited to try this product as I've tried many a matte lip product through the years.

The shade I got was called Voyager and happens to be the darkest in the range. Luckily, because it's summer, I can wear the dark range with my medium deep skin tone.

I love this. I have just tried a similar shade in the Nars line and found it to be patchy and difficult to apply. This was super easy and not patchy at all which is amazing for a dark colour.

The wand was a lovely shape and worked well in application to the lips. I didn't even need to use a liner!

I'm really interested in trying other colours now. Perhaps a nude!!

Highly impressed with this product, awesome color , goes on smoothly and stayed on really really well, when it did finally wear off it faded naturally looking which I thought was great, love this lip ink

I decided to buy this lip colour after reading these reviews, and I’m so glad I did. I brought 10 dreamer, a lovely pinky nude shade that is just my type of colour. It’s just gorgeous for everyday wear.

My lips can be quite dry and some lip stains just make them worse and look patchy. This lip stain is the best! It glides on smoothly and even. My lips don’t look dry at all and feel moisturized.

The packaging is stylish, it’s the same colour as the lip colour, but a white lid and silver writing. It looks nice for such an affordable lip colour.

This has become my go to lip colour for everyday. I’m so impressed with the formula. The wand makes it easy to apply and it’s just so worth what you pay for this lip colour.

I’ve since brought another, in 15 lover, a deeper pink that’s just a beautiful shade also. Great for when I’m going out and just want a bit more colour.

Such a great product. Five stars from me.

I received this matte lip ink in the colour "Lover". It is a bit pink with a touch of purple. It is a bit different to what I was expecting but I am a bit of a lippy fanatic so its all good.

This lip ink comes in a 5ml square tube. The outside colour is similar to the actual product and it. The applicator is oval shaped and has a hole in the middle of it. It is hard, not like a foam applicator which makes it really easy to outline your lips, then fill them in. At this point I will say you do need to be quite careful doing your outline as this lip ink really, really stays in place. So, if you do make a bit of a mistake make sure you have something to wipe it away as soon as possible.

Once you have applied that is it. For the day. The whole day. Lips done.

I drank coffee, water, ate breakfast and lunch, went to the gym all without worrying about my lippy. Amazing!

I will be buying more colours to add to my collection.

This may well be the last lippy you buy, it will last an age.

Ok so I hav to say the maybelline lip ink is absolutely gorgeous, however this took a few tries to get applied so it looked right. The 1st time i applied this i wasn't quite fast enough and it dried unevenly, so I thought I'd dip the applicator again to finish an this was absolutely the wrong wrong wrong thing to do people. It all went so wrong and felt gluggy, an just looked so patchy so I thought I'd remove it to try it again. This was a huge mission as it states it's a 24 hour long lasting lip ink, ink does NOT remove very easily at all. By the time I had scrubbed my poor lips, they were still partly purple with the ink. So out came the face scrub an make up remover, after a good clean off an a few more tries BAM these lips be Looking hot hot hot. I would absolutely recommend this to my friends that like myself are lippy mad, an would give them the advice of applying fast so they get a good even coverage. This product smelt very good as I applied it, I said it smelt yum an my son told me he needed to smell my lips when he did he said mmm that's delicious mummy. I love the long lasting wear, and the colour.

I have the shade dreamer and really love it! It’s a gorgeous pinky nude and it is truly a matte lip ink! This has a really nice big doefoot applicator with a hole the middle to store product which makes it super easy to put on and line and full in your lips in one go. I applied at 8am and it stayed STUCK on my lips until needing an oil based makeup remover to take it off at 6pm. The only down side to this lippy is it stayed sort of sticky pretty much all day. It was a little bit annoying but for a lippy that lasted all day, it’s s small price to pay. With being so matte it also did sort of emphasise the lines on my lips and gave you that inner lip line. Overall however, I would def recommend this lippy!
