Revlon colorburst lip butter

Loved it! Lasted all day, nice colour and suited my skin. Didn’t make my lips dry and colour lasted only reapplied once after lunch.

Tips: Wear a gloss over top for a shiny finish

Shade- Gumdrop

I'm sad to see this has been discontinued. I bought a few in the gumdrop shade because it was a pretty purple colour that wasn't overpowering. I liked that it would glide on and I could move my lips around with it. It took ages to come off but my lips never felt dry using it.

Good thing I've still got a couple in the cupboard!

Shade: Sorbet

I bought this lipstick from NZ Sale because I'd read that it was a good dupe (duplicate) of a YSL lipstick shade I wanted. They're right - it is. The colour is beautiful and goes on like a gloss, yet gives a depth of colour like a regular lipstick. It has decent coverage and staying power and feels nice on the lips. I bought a 2-pack and I'm glad I did - it's now one of my fave lipsticks. Did I mention the bright (mine is pink) cute packaging? Love it!

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

I do enjoy using Revlon products. I have a number of different ones and find them mostly to a high standard.

I have 3 lip butters and on the whole they are a nice kind of average lippy.

They come in the typical lipstick tube with the outer cover being close to the colour of the lippy inside.

The lip butter itself is a very buttery, creamy formula. I found it easy to apply, it went on smoothly and my lips felt very moisturised.

The colour is not like a full lip colour, rather like a balm with a nice gloss to it. I found it was not great on staying power, and there was a lot of transfer when you drink or eat.

I also found when the weather was hot , this lip butter melted. Very sad event as this happened on a couple of occasions and really wrecked the lip butter. If however you keep it in the cool, thees will last you a decent time.

Tips: Keep out of the heat.

Tutti Frutti orange

I have this in a vibrant, happy orange shade. On the back of my hand it's very orange but on my lips it appears more coral/apricot. I was drawn to this at Farmers because of its pretty packaging and some sort of 3 for 2 sale going on.

This is like a highly pigmented balm tint. Similar to revlon's crayon type balms but a little drier and more pigmented. It's semi sheer so you can build up the intensity. Usually one light swipe gives a gorgeous coral orange. The more layers I put on, the more orange and opaque it is. It's balmy, but not oily, and my lips feel moisturised.

It stays on ok when I drink water, but not when I eat. I'm not super worried about having to reapply because it's a gentle enough color that I can quickly swipe it on the inner circle of my lips and then press my lips together to smudge it out like a gradient style.

The price isn't too bad considering the amount of product you get is a bit more than your standard bullet. I would definitely go buy more of these in nude or light colors for everyday occasions.

Not my cup of tea

I heard there was a hype about these Lip Butters so I purchased one in the shade Berry Smoothie. I personally don't quite like the formula of these. Just to note I am more of a lipstick girl. Im new to the lip butter craze, not really my cup of tea.

The colour is pretty but I don't particually like the sheen to it. I am more of a matte girl though so to be honest a sheen is far out of my comfort zone. I do however love the packaging. It has a higher end type of vibe to it not cheap and nasty. The other positive thing I like about this product is the range of shades they come in. They arn't really long wearing as you can tell it is a lip butter and buttery lip products do wear off. If your after a no makeup - makeup look this would be good

Least favourite

This lipbutter/stick has to be my least favorite in my collection.

I have this in a bronze shade. It comes out quite brown on my lips. It looks glossy and glossy looking which I guess you would suspect it to be this way considering it's a butter not a lipstick.

I personally don't like glosses so this lip butter didn't win me over. However It does have amazing pigment! Like the colour isn't sheer like I thought it would be it's quite bold.

The longtivity isn't great, it's exactly like a gloss and needs to be re applied several times throughout the day.

I guess if you were a lip butter/gloss person this product would be perfect for you :)

My go-to work lipstick

This is one of my favourite products! I have this in Berry Smoothie. Of all my lipsticks it's the only one that is MLBB and I found this shade very work friendly. It's very moisturising on my lips and never bleeds out. It's very comfortable though it does need somewhat frequent reapplication. I would love to get more shades of this if I can!

Revlon Colorburst in grape

I have this in grape (015) shade and its very versatile. You can wear a single coat for a tinted lip balm look or reapply thickly for a more vampy deep purple - almost black look. It has a very smooth and buttery feel - at the same time, the colour doesnt bleed as it might in a more glossy lip color/product. Applies easility and the lips do feel moisturized and soft. I'll definitely get more shades in this if i can find them on sale somewhere ;)

Lipstick in training

When these first came out I was at the height of my makeup hoarding/addiction. So as soon as they hit Farmers I bought the Colourburst range in Creme Brulee (a brown nude), Sweet Tart (a brighter pink), and Sugar Plum (a darker pink plum shade). I ordered them straight away and Sweet Tart in particular is at least half used up.

The packaging is kind of cool for a lippy. The bullet is covered with a clear cover in the shade of the lipstick that has a wee cross-hatched design on it. Great for seeing which one you want if you have a few in your collection. Other than that it is your standard lippy packaging.

The formula of these is quite interesting - the name says it all buttery. These are very creamy in formula. I would almost call them a lip balm with more intense pigment that you'd usually expect. They go on with a decent amount of pigment, although sheerer than a lipstick. They feel very moisturising on the lips which is nice. Unfortunately though due to the glossy-ness of the product they do come off the lips quite quickly. I find this annoying as I'm not the best at reapplying. If you didn't have these I would actually point you in the direction of the Revlon Balm Stains as they aren't as glossy but they stain your lips so last for much longer. I was actually going to get rid of these in my latest makeup clear out - but writing this has reminded me of how much I like them so they are getting a second chance.

I actually ended up getting rid of Creme Brulee a long time ago as it was too brown based for me. But these lipsticks are lovely and I think they might be a nice in between product for someone just getting into lipsticks.
