Bold. Opaque. Recklessly loaded with pigment. For lips that speak louder than words.

Babette & Geradium

I had heard so many rave reviews from the BR ladies on these little gems that I finally had to try them. I picked the shades Geradium and Babette.First off packaging – this is the most fun vibrant funky little tube of lipstick I have ever owned with its bright purple/pink canitster and silver stars and unicorn it’s a definate standout in my books !.Before both colours I made sure to prime my lips with a scrub and a lip balm as I had heard these can be a little drying. Babette – I was super dying to try this colour the swatch on the lime crime website is a nude pinky corally colour which I thought would be a perfect nude for me on my lips – however in real life the colours are not the same. In the tube it looks like a nude pink based colour I still actually luckily really love babette for me , its much more pinky in the tube and on my lips than the official swatch but I did still love this. It applied easily not streaky or patchy glides on and is super pigmented and opaque. I am pleased I used a lip balm first as these are a little on the dry side although with the right priming it wasn’t an issue. This did transfer to my coffee cup which I really hate but on the bright side when I checked my lips they werent patchy or horrible they still looked the same so im happy with that I don’t know how that works but it did. This wore for a few hours easily before needing to be touched up. I am definitely pleased I purchased this colour – this will be an everyday easy to use staple for me I think just the right kind of shade for my skin tone. A really good bright nude. Geradium – I actually ordered this one by mistake but again super happy I did. I was dissapointed that again the lime crime official swatch actually isnt what I got in my hot little hands – however I was lucky that I am a huge fan of pinky based lipsticks so this still was a great lippie for me. The lime crime official swatch has a totally different pink tone to what you get in real life its much more barbieesque and pink. Again this is super pigmented and applied brilliantly you don’t need to use a lot to get a super opaque finish. This was a bright standout colour probably not for everyone but I have always loved a bright pink so this fits nicely into my collection. This had a similar problem to Babette in that it did transfer to your coffee mugs etc but again it didn’t leave you with nothing on your lips it somehow still looks the same. Again this lasted a few hours before needing a redo which is good in my books. These are quite a pricey lipstick and while I do actually love the colours I got I wouldn’t buy anymore as their swatches just don’t match what you actually get I was lucky I loved mine but I don’t understand how they are so different. All in all though these are a neat little addition to my collection and I am not unhappy with my purchases.

Tips: These are super opaque so you don't need to use alot

Such Funky Packaging!

Pretty much everyone has heard about these lipsticks and how they're so good so I knew straight away I just NEEDED to try these out for myself. I have the colours: Cosmopop, Babette and Great Pink Planet. Great Pink Pink Planet is your perfect girly barbie pink. Babette is like your nude soft pink and Cosmopop a bright orange but it's not as bright as they show on their product lip swatches!

First of all I need to start with the packaging! It is so funky and cute and I just love how the packaging is purple with unicorns and stars. Yes it does seem a little immature and it's not as chic as most other lipsticks but it's different and stands out among the rest and I love that. It's fun.

They are matte and very pigmented, you honestly do not need to apply much to get full cover which is great because it seems they will last longer as they are on the pricey side. They can feel drying but just apply lip balm straight before you apply the lippy and it's algood. These last ages on your lips, the only downside is they wear eating or drinking. I constantly apply lip balm throughout the day so i imagine that could 'wear' the lippy off like how it does with other lip sticks I have but that doesn't happen with these (hope you know what I'm trying to say).

The only stand out thing with these that I dislike is that when you have a drink they transfer onto the cup and it's very obvious but looking at your lips the colour is still there which is great but it's just annoying having lippy all over your cup haha.

Would I buy more? Going by the lipsticks themselves I definitely would but I'm actually loving MAC matte lipsticks alot more than these. There has been alot of drama surrounding the company but they're still good lip sticks. Please note if your after natural looking colours Lime Crime is not for you as pretty much all the colours are pretty out there and bright!

❤️❤️❤️

These are my fave lippies. So opaque n long lasting. Some weird colours but even those are super pigmented. My favourite lipsticks by far. These lipsticks are extremely creamy. It glides and acts as a second skin on the lips. Love the fact that it's vegan as well. The colours are wild too. Have chinchilla and although it looks unwearable it is a beautiful colour. One coat is opaque enough to last a good 4 hours when eating food that's hard to come by. $30 a piece is worth it. TRUST ME! You will definitely not be disappointed with these. My favourite is poisonberry. The vamp berry colour is just exquisite and wearable for any situation. Coquette and babette are strong nudes. These two colours are extremely opaque for a nude. It looks like it has a white base tone but are incredibly beautiful! Try any one and you'll see what I mean. They're addictive!

Tips: No need for vase or balm, just exfoliate lips n apply

Love Lime Crime

I have 3 Lime Crime Opaque Lipsticks and I love them!! I have Great Pink Planet (my absolute fave!!), Geradium and Centrafuschia. All these a pink tones and look beautiful on.

I wear Lime Crime everyday and love the bright, fun colours and the fact that they are so long wearing. They wear really well and are very pigmented.

I would highly recommend Lime Crime to everyone wanting a bright, bold lipstick that will last hours!!

Tips: All Lime Crime Lipsticks are matte and very opaque. If you are wanting a glossy lipstick then these are not the right lippy for you. However if it is a matte look you are after then you have come to the right brand!!

Limecrime lipstick review

The lime crime opaque lipstick range is so amazing. To begin with, the packaging is probably my favorite out of all lipstick packaging. The lipsticks look great on show because of the vibrant purple casing with the silver unicorn on it. Even when they are empty, I like to keep the packaging because it is so pretty. The range of colors is very out there. I tend to go for the more orange/red/purple tones such as glamour101 and poisonberry but not the yellows or blues. What stands out to me about these lipsticks is that they are one of the only range with such unique colours. Many lipstick brands just stick to the red/orange/nudes or pinks but limecrime have gone to an extra level. The colors are fun, great for a night out or a costume party and what is a plus is that the pigmentation is SO powerful. They definitely do stick to what they advertise. This range stays true to the description and buyers will definately not be disappointed. My reasoning behind 4/5 on using it again and recommending to a friend is that not all people would be into these colors and they are not very cheap to purchase. However these lipsticks are worth the cost!

Tips: My only tip would to be for buyers to watch lip swatch videos prior to purchase to ensure that they would wear or suit the colours as they are very unique :)

Glamour 101

I ordered my first Lime Crime Lipstick from their website, along with a few other items.

The shade Glamour 101 is a lovely dark rose/red wine colour that suited my skin perfectly. The packaging is so cute and fun and has a nice almost sweet scent to it.

This lipstick is highly pigmented and a little goes a long way, the more you add the more intense the colour gets. This product is long wearing and keeps my lips moisturised all day long. I am keen to try a few other shades from Lime Crime, I definitely got my moneys worth with this one.

Limecrime lipsticks

I LOVE these lipsticks! They are so pigmented and the stay power of them is fantastic. I now own 5 and I want more! The first colour I purchased was Geradium it is the perfect pinky coral, after receiving this colour I was hooked! This was followed closely by Centrifuchsia which is a deep Fuchsia pink, Glamour 101 which is a deep red, Babette which is a really nice pink/salmon/nude. And the last colour I purchased is Poisonberry (MY FAV) is a deep berry purple. I love the formula of these lipsticks they are nice and creamy and don’t dry out my lips. A lot of these colours are not for the faint hearted as they provide a real pop of colour, they are perfect for a night out to help dress up an outfit! I did purchase these lipsticks before all the controversy happened with the company and the customers so I am in 2 minds about repurchasing, which is such a huge disappoint as I love the lipsticks!

Centrifuschia: obsessed

I'm pretty much the opposite of a bandwagon jumper. If anything gets hyped I'm more likely to stubbornly avoid it. But when I've heard such great things about these lipsticks from so many people, and they were available for $20 in a shade I loved (Centrifuschia) I decided to go for it - and whoaaaaaaah. Crazy in love.

For a start, these come in a purple and silver tube, with a holographic unicorn, stars, and the Lime Crime logo. There is no mistaking the brand or product. On first glance I actually thought the packaging was OTT but I now realise that was crazy talk as I'm falling more and more in love with it all the time.

You open the tube to reveal the lipstick finger, which is nestled in a silver interior tube. The scent jumps out first - to me it smells a little like vanilla, raspberry and cherry blossom: sweet, with a little bit of fruit and flower. It's a sexy, happy scent. When you twist the lipstick finger up it literally screams colour. Centrifuschia is a bold, sassy bright pink with just a hint of purple in the undertone.

One layer on your lips is bright and pretty, two is out of this world bold, gorgeous and sexy. Because these are opaque they're designed to be built, and you can add other colours under or on top to alter the tone and colour to your hearts content.

The curious thing about these lipsticks - that I love - is that the colour transfers to whatever you're using your mouth for - yet your mouth still stays looking made up. It's like the first layer stains your lips with an indelible base coat that hangs around until forcibly removed. That alone makes these lipsticks invaluable, and I'll definitely be buying more while I can (not to mention a spare of this shade!), as I believe they are leaving the NZ market soon.

I'm relatively new to bright lipstick and this was a little confronting for the first few minutes, but I am so in love with the sassy, sexy, bold statement it makes.

Lime Crime lover here!

Tips: If you can't handle the bright, overlay it with a sheer purple or paler pink for a gorgeous, toned down shade

I've since picked up Countessa Flourescent, which is a bright neon pink, and just as stand-out as Centrifuschia. Countessa doesn't stain the same way, but is a super girls, pretty shade which jazzes up a black dress instantly. Just as gorgeous x

Love it!

I purchased the 'Retrofuturist' Lipstick for my ball because i was looking for an amazingly bright red and i was not disappointed. The colour pay off is amazing and it lasts so well. I did not have to reapply at all in the 5 hours, it did not bleed or feather and even when it eventually wares it does so nicely. I love this lipstick and the colour but would only repurchase in store because of the dodgy stuff that has happened on their website.

Tips: Apply with lip brush

Precious Unicorn Lippy

When I first started Beauty Review I had no idea about different brands and the quality of them. Since being on Beauty Review I became aware of Lime Crime. Lime Crime is an American Brand. Lime Crime to me is tailored to a women who likes to be daring with colours and make bold bright statements. I love the different range of colours they have.

Honestly I dreamed of having a Lime Crime lipstick because I am one of those girls who likes to be daring with different colours. I'd love to have at least one of every colour in this range. All the speculation around Lime Crime has not deterred me from wanting to try more from their range.

This Lime Crime lipstick comes in this pinky purple lipstick holder. I love these unicorns and stars on it. I'm a sucker for a Unicorn. I open it up to find a silver lipstick inside it. This colour I purchased was Geradium. It's a bright pink colour. It smells like vanilla lollies. I love scented lipstick.

Application with this lipstick was smooth. It didn't have lasting power for me. I'm not sure if it's because I brought it second hand or not. I will purchase a new one to test this theory out further.

Update: I went to get Centrifuschia and Retrofuturist. I am very sad that these will be discontinued they are really gorgeous.

My results were bright bold lips. Didn't have much lasting power. I got two limecrime lippys for $20. They were second hand. I'd love to experience them Brand new. I do love Lime Crime. I call my lipstick, my precious lol. I'm so thankful to have got it at the price I got it at.
