I love!!

I have been collecting all the lipsticks and have a fairly good collection for their glosses too I love the fact that they have a great staying power (best staying power I have had in a lipstick) They are super pigmented though and long lasting with out bleeding colour all over your face, and don't forget their cute packaging, like a gold bullet

although they are not with out fault I have some that have faulty packaging, (applying lipstick and slowly the product is pushed back down so you have to wind it up again to finish application) also their formulates fairy with different colours or release dates, their newer colours are a lot creamer then their originals so if you have dry skin you may well have a little problem.

Tips: If you have dry skin I would recommend to use a lip scrub and apply a moisturising lip product before applying these, only applies to their older colours though (first 6 or so releases)

I'm a fan!

I have 6 of the current 7 lipsticks from Gerard Cosmetics. I brought direct and found they have fast delivery. They are all quite matte formulas. They are long lasting. I find I need to apply a lip balm under and with some I need to build the colour up. But once application is made they last and look great. One thing I've found is that these make my teeth look really white. Considering they originate from a teeth whitening company I think this is great!

The shades I have are:

Nude: quite opaque with one swipe, it's a peachy nude.

Buttercup: light pink, quite sheer but buildable. It's creamier then their other shades I've found. Not as long lasting and I tend to get that gross line on the inside of my lips with this!

Tequila Sunrise: I was surprised to find this is my favourite! I don't tend to suit coral but I really liket it on me. It's very vibrant but wearable. Opaque and super long lasting!

1995: This colour represents the year 1995 well, it's a soft brown shade. Can be built up to a darker shade of brown. Very wearable.

Fire Engine: this will make your teeth look so white! A very beautiful classic red. Not as opaque as I thought it would be which was disappointing.

Cherry Cordial: dark vampy plum colour, like the red it takes a few swipes to build up the intensity you usually want with these kind of shades. I only just got this shade for Christmas so haven't tested its longevity yet.

They all have a lovely fruity scent which is nice.

The packaging is very nice, all gold encased. Similar size to MAC lipsticks but maybe a touch rounder. I have found a few faults, some wind down while applying which is very annoying.

Tips: Always check youtube or Gerard Cosmetics Instagram for promo codes, they ALWAYS have something happening!

Need the LOT!

After hearing all the hype on youtube about these I needed to try them. Although skeptical, I found a great discount code so went ahead and ordered 3 in the shades Nude, Buttercup and Cherry Cordial.

They come in gold packaging shaped like the MAC lippies which looks really cool now however they feel a little cheap (plastic isn't as 'heavy' as the MAC ones if that makes sense) and I suspect after a couple of months rolling around with my other products the gold may chip/flake off.

The actual lipsticks I would describe as a demi-matte finish with buttercup having the slightest bit more sheen than the rest (you wouldn't notice unless you swatches them all together). I absolutely LOVE the finish on these, I think they are so flattering. They don't look cracked and dry like some matte's however still give the matte effect which you can always add a gloss too if that's your thing.

They are all super opaque on the lips and I find I only need one or two coats with these to look fantastic. As Cat said, Buttercup is slightly more sheer than the others but can easily be built up.

The lasting power is incredible too, they last me a good few hours and are easy to touch up (doesn't go crumbly or gross)

My favourite surprisingly is Cherry Cordial, I chose this one on a bit of a whim but it is a STUNNING dark vampy berry shade that looks incredible on the lips - I will be taking this on my trip to Canada to wear (its winter there now) as it is the perfect winter shade! Be warned, it does stain though!

I feel like I'm rambling now but you get the gist I hope! These are amazing and definitely worth a go if you were thinking about purchasing them. They are overpriced in my opinion however there are plenty of coupon codes floating around so you never have to pay full price. I will definitely be purchasing more colours in the future to try!

Great buy!

I've been using Gerard Cosmetic lipsticks since they launched and I always have one of the colours in my bag.

The product itself is amazing, with the exception of Buttercup it has great pigmentation (1-2 swipes should do the trick), applies on smoothly and lasts about 5 hours on my lips. I don't notice any feathering and don't have to retouch as often.

The packaging is beautiful but I was disappointed to find it's actually quite cheap. It's incredibly light to the point I initially thought there was no product in the bullet). Out of the 7 I own I received 3 with dents (which I don't believe was due to shipping) and 1 with a crooked logo - not a deal breaker for me.

I would highly recommend 1995 and Cherry Cordial - bold colours. The one I like the least is Buttercup! It doesn't show up very well on my lips I have to lay down a pink lip liner before I can get some colour but it looks nothing like the swatches online.

I purchased my lipsticks using coupon codes and would recommend you check for available discounts before making a purchase.

90s perfection

Like many others I was very drawn to the ''Kylie Jenner" lip and had heard a lot of hype around Gerard Cosmetics and the '1995' lippy. Unfortunately I thought it was pretty hard to get my hands on it, so when I saw the website did direct shipping to NZ and were having a sale I decided to give it a try for myself.

I really like the packaging - the gold metallic casing may be plastic but it feels secure and well made and I like how it stands out amongst my other lippys.

The formula is a matte finish and longwearing, even holding up through drinking and light eating. I do find it a tad dry so I like to exfoliate before initial application, apply a lip balm and wait for it to set in before applying straight from the bullet.

1995 as a colour is everything I could have hoped for. A soft brown shade it's the perfect colour for everyday use and really does fit the 90s lip colour well. The formula is highly pigmented so one swipe is all you need but you can build the colour up to a darker shade of brown.

This is one of my most worn lippys and Id happily repurchase any of the Gerard Cosmetics shades.

Tips: The website provides fast, direct shipping to NZ.

All dolled up

After a bit of a muck around and about a 4 week wait time my whitening lightening/Gerard cosmetics order arrived yesterday. Picking shades was a hassle and a half with no swatches or even pictures of the products in their packaging to give an indication of what the colors were like. In the end after bouncing from window to window I selected as my lipstick shade all dolled up, which appeared to be a gentle pink- nothing too crazy. Well, what a shock I got when I opened the tube to find a neon, in your face, super bright pink- not at all what I was looking for. As far as formulations go, this applies easy and is fairly creamy, although not extremely so. I have a feeling if your lips were super dry then this product my require a bit of prep work to ensure a non-blotchy application. The packaging is super sleek, which I was very impressed by. It is bullet shaped and a shiny (but somehow not tacky) gold. I have heard negative reviews about the smell of Gerard lip products, but although this has a faint scent, I cant put my finger on what it is- definitely not offensive IMO. This company would greatly benefit from putting some swatches or similar on their site to avoid other customers making the same mistakes as me. As it is I will be applying this like a stain (blotting off after application) in order to tone down the intensity- even after this it will be an in your face bold lip- great if that's your thing, but its not mine!

Tips: When purchasing Gerard products, spend some serious time on google images seeing what their colours look like on similar skin tones before you select your shade.

Enjoying these lipsticks

I brought 6 colours as they were having some very good sales last month. I got the shades: Rodeo drive, Berry Smoothie, Fire Engine, Kimchi Doll, Cherry Cordial and 1995 (I'm yet to received this. I purchased it in a separate order). They are relatively creamy but if you have dry lips I would recommend putting on lip balm a bit before applying as I think these would not be too agreeable. I found that these lipstick sink into your lines so it would also be a good idea to exfoliate your lips before applying the lipstick. They have a funny smell, the best way I can describe it is that old makeup smell, if that makes sense? I found they were quite hard to apply at first but just needed to be warmed up. They have great pigmentation except for fire engine and cherry cordial but with a couple coats these two were great. They seem to last quite a lone time and the darker ones do stain your lips. They seem fine to reapply over the top. The packaging is quite cute a gold bullet like the Mac bullets you get but I do find that Gerard ones do look a bit cheap on closer inspection. I found it quite hard to find swatches of these lip colours and I did google them but a lot of photos were not true to colour.

Kimchi Doll: is a peachy nude. It is best suited for fair complexions. I think this is very similar in colour to Limecrime's babette but not as peachy and pigmented as Lime crime. I find this one can be mixed with other colours and goes great with rodeo drive and I imagine it would be nice with 1995. I would recommend wearing a lip liner with it. I find applying a darker shade of lip liner all over my lips darkens the colour and could look better on darker complexions.

Rodeo Drive: is a medium rosey pink. A lovely colour and probably my favourite so far. Good pigmentation

Berry Smoothie: I think this is very similar to Rodeo Drive but a little more berrie. I would not recommend getting both Berry Smoothie and Rodeo Drive unless your collecting them all. Has good pigmentation.

Fire Engine: A classic Hollywood red. Took a bit longer to warm up and I found it was not as pigmented as the colours described above but with a couple of coats it was stunning. I would recommend putting a lip liner on before.

Cherry Cordial: is a dark vampy burgundy with berry undertones. According to their website you can wear this sheer or wear as a opaque satin lipstick. I would wear a lip liner with this one. This is probably my least favourite while I love the colour it is very bold for me.

I definitely recommend buying from this company but I would wait until they bring out coupon codes on their facebook page as you can usually get free worldwide shipping and save at least 50%. They have great customer service as my first order went missing in the mail and they were happy to replace (my 1995 lipstick) and I received 50% discount on my next purchase.

Tips: Moisturise and exfoilate lips before applying lipstick

Holey Grail Lipstick

After seeing all the hype of these lipsticks on Youtube from the likes of Jaclyn Hill, MannyMUA and Carli Bybel and also the amazing deals Gerard Cosmetics posted on their Instagram I decided I needed to try these out. I purchased 4 lipsticks in the shades Nude, 1995, Berry Smoothie & Rodeo Drive. The lipsticks are a matte formula but they are not too drying once applied on the lips. And I find they wear over a long period of the day and hardly need to touch up. They do transfer so you will find some colour payoff left on a glass after a drink but I don't notice that I need to touch up after having a drink. The one thing I want out of my lipstick is longevity and I think Gerard Cosmetic lipsticks do that for me, I love their staying power. I have never been a matte lipstick kinda girl as like many out there I can't stand dry lips but since wearing these for the last few months I have a new found love for matte lips. They are extremely pigmented and apply well with the way the product is shaped inside the bullet. I hope they release more shades in the near future.

Tips: Good lip care e.g. lip scrubs and lip balm to keep lips free from being dry and flakey to get best results with application and look.

Fire engine red

I was looking for the perfect red lipstick and heard great reviews about "fire engine red" I looked up the swatch a few times on different skin tones and decided to purchase, on arrival I was so impressed with the packing, they remind me of gold bullets. I opened it up and looked at it and the colour was just on so vibrant before even swatching !! I applied lip liner and you should with most red lipstickes and started to apply the lipstick. I found the formula wasn't creamy is was kind of dry .... Like I had to let it warm up first. I went with it anyway and later found it to be waited drying and was cracking around the edges as if I was dehydrated 10mins after application. I have since have tried the lipstick another few times by warming it up. Using lip balm, etc etc etc and I haven't found much difference, I am a little disappointed but I want to purchase one more lipstick just to compare as people rave about these and I'm feeling I just had a but of bad luck maybe ?

Tips: Has anyone else experience anything like this? I'd love to know !

Love these lipsticks

First of all I have to say the packaging is amazing and the deals they comes out from this brand are never ending. I just want to get all the colours. I have 1995, Nude, kimchi doll and butter cream. 1995 is my favourite and butter cream second. 1995 is a sultry deep brown with a red undertone with my skin (yellow, warm undertones) and I think it makes me look more tan and stays on amazingly. I like buttercream next as it goes on so smooth and the best pinky nude colour I have come across. Kimchi doll is very similar to buttercream but much lighter. If you mix kimchi doll with a deeper colour it would be perfect. Nude is a nice colour but comes of a little orange for me so I do not reach for it as much. Overall they are great pigmentation, long lasting, gorgeous packaging and when bought in a deal (I brought 4 for $45 with free worldwide shipping from gerardcosmetics.com) then they are not that pricey for lipsticks

Tips: Try mixing the colours. There are some combo's that look so good.
