This is not your typical matte lipstick and I feel a lot of people will love semi creamy formula. It comes in stunning gold packaging with black lettering. The base is weighted however the lid is nothing more but cheap plastic which is horrifying considering the hefty price tag of $65 (Farmers)!?
It has a rosewater scent which I’m not particularly fond of but you can’t detect it after a short while. The lipstick goes on smoothly with no tugging whatsoever and feels comfortable on the lips. It has more of a semi-creamy finish which tends to feather without a lipliner and can last up to 3-4 hours (with lipliner and no eating).
The opacity is fantastic and I can easily get away with just 2 swipes. I find that when I blot this product to achieve a matte finish that it transfers very easily so that I end up using more product to make up for the colour that I just blotted away – it can be a tad wasteful if this is an item you’ve decided to splurge on.
I would recommend these lipsticks and since they’re expensive I would suggest going into the YSL counter and trying the shades on so you can make an informed decision. Another painpoint was trying to find different shades. I went to 4 different Farmers only to find that they only had the same 2 shades in stock!?
