Icky sticky!

I love liquid matte lipsticks and I had to try the LA Girl Matte Pigment Gloss when I saw it on a blog. I bought the shade playful which is a nice pink colour. I really loved the colour.

On the first application, it came out patchy and sticky, so I waited for it to dry a bit before I made a second application, but it wouldn't dry. After the second application, that didn't make it better. It was still patchy and made my lips stick together. I’ve never experienced anything like this with a matte lipstick.

Although it’s cheap, I wouldn’t waste my money to try another shade. LA girl has many great products, but this isn't one of them.

Tips: Exfoliate the lips before applying the gloss

Blackcurrant... grrr!

So annoyed as I bought this for the guns n roses concert. was expecting a gorgeous deep blackened purple. Well I got blackened alright. It is literally BLACK. It applied streaky, and didn't dry properly when i tried to re apply a second coat to get rid of the streakyness. I have never and will never wear this out of the house, i am so disappointed.

Love these!!

These are the best liquid lipsticks I've tried (thought granted I haven't tried that many) and I love them. They're a bit drying on your lips but it's worth it for how long they stay on. I don't wear lipstick that often because I'm too lazy to constantly reapply but that isn't an issue with these and they stay on all day unless you eat something oily. The colours are nice and bold too. I love them!

developed an awful smell

I actually loved this when I first got it, but only about a year later, it's developed a nasty smell and I won't put it on my lips again because of this.

The GOOD..... quite thin, goes on easily, a double layer stays for hours, and the colour (I have 'backstage' is divine. Relatively kissproof and drink/food proof, and very cheap.

The BAD.... takes a while to set, and obviously with it developing the scent i'm concerned about what's in there.

I won't buy this again - a pity because it's a gorgeous red. It's put me off the brand as well.

Tips: two thin layers with translucent powder between is the best for longevity. Apply, let dry, dust with powder and reapply.

First is a GO!

I just bought my first LA Girl Matte Pigment Gloss, I wondered about the shade of Fleur through the lip tube and how dark it would be on my skin tone. I am happy with the creamy application and how quickly matte it goes. Will definitely be purchasing more!

Tips: Try any colour, even if it's not you. You might just end up loving it!

decent

I have a few of these lipsticks, and while i absolutely love all of the shades i do find that a couple do apply streaky and almost dry and flake off, which is disappointing as i love the rest of the colours but its only a few that do this. other than that they're great to wear and only move really if you eat greasy food.

Affordable Liquid Lipsticks

I have both Dreamy and Fleur matte pigment gloss and let me first say that the word gloss is misleading as it is simply a liquid lipstick - nothing about it is glossy!

They come in a thick, sturdy tube package with a flat doe foot applicator, which is great for a cheaper product. Dreamy is a beautiful pinky nude and Fleur is a deep terracotta shade. They do apply darker on the lips than they appear in the tube so be sure to check swatches online.

I would suggest to use a lip liner as they can be tricky to apply with the flat applicator (takes getting used to). The liquid lipstick takes a while to dry down and once it is dry, they remains tacky throughout the day. They do feel very drying on the lips but the lip liner does definitely helps with that. Once I have eaten or drank, they wear off on my inner lip and leave a crusty worn area. They do need to be reapplied to that area and definitely don't look perfect afterwards. At the end of the day, the product is quite hard to take off my lips so their long-lasting claims are true (apart from the inner lip problem already mentioned). Due to their long-wearing nature, they would be perfect to wear out to a party or somewhere for a few hours where there is not too much eating involved.

Overall, I do like it as an affordable liquid lipstick but you get what you pay for. If you don't mind having dry but tacky lips or re-applying throughout the day then it's a good cheap option. I love the colours that I own and will probably re-purchase because of that - I just wear them for a few hours at a party or down the street.

[DUPE? Dreamy is similar to the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity but slightly lighter. It is a good colour alternative but the formula of the Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick is much better if you can afford to pay the price.]

Tips: 1. Use a lipbalm beforehand and use a lip liner as a base all over the lips 2. Take them in your handbag for re-application after eating

disapointing

I had tried out LA girl concealers and i absolutely loved them so when i found these i was so excited to try them out! I love matte lipsticks and i find that this was a great price. Packaging is nice and simple, just a simple tube. Upon opening it you can smell a very chemical like smell, which soon disappeared upon applying to my lips. I got the shade 'backstage' which i then found myself applying multiple times to get that dark opaque color so that was definitely disappointing. It was also VERY sticky and tacky and there was no way i could put my lips together without them getting stuck to each other. I left it on a couple hours and after the first hour, it became super drying on the lips and it would start to flake off. Later that night when it came off i found my lips to be swollen, and drying. Which has never happened to me before. Maybe it will be different for some one else, but as for me this was a terrible product and i'm glad i only bought one. Would not recommend this to anyone!

LA Girl Matte Pigment Gloss - Review

I picked up one of these in the shade dreamy whilst away on holiday, and I'm pleasantly surprised! These are a great product for the price, and come in a variety of colours for anyone and everyone.

These come in a basic tube, the design is quite nice and simple. The applicator is a long flat doe foot, and you can get quite crisp lines with it although I still have to clean up the edges.

The consistency of this product is kind of in the middle, it's not thick and moussey but not very thin either, and a little goes a long way. This takes a couple of minutes to dry down, and dries to a matte finish however there is quite a bit of a tack when you press your lips together. I fixed this by applying a TINY (I stress tiny) amount of translucent powder over my lips.

These wear for quite a long time on me but do wear off a lot faster when I eat oily or greasy foods, however you can just touch it up so there's no problem there.

I will probably buy more of these, I've had my eye on a few other colours from this line so might have to give more a try next time I see them in store.

LA Girl Matte Pigmented Gloss

These i love and for the price too there's a few colours to choose from too from nudes to pinks to reds and purples. My favourite is the dark purple i ombre it out with a nude coloured gloss or concealer both do the same trick my fav. The gloss itself is runny but thick so i advise to use a little as you apply. The colours are highly pigmented and a real bonus is once it drys it stays on your lips like a second skin haha so be careful when applying. One mega con of this is when your trying to remove it, it takes awhile to wipe it off but with abit of make up remover and rubbing and it comes off.
