Nope

Sometimes when you’re shopping cheap makeup you find a really, really good product, but this is not one of those cases. I rue the day I put this in my shopping cart. Lovely packaging and large claims, but very disappointed with the result. After applying I had clumpy, thick eyelashes that weren’t any more curved than before. They didn’t smudge or run and did last a while but why would you want to run around all day with spider legs for lashes. I decided to give it another go and the brush had snapped off inside the bottle and only the wand came out with nothing attached! Now I have a completely useless bottle of crap mascara.

Cheap and Awful

Purchased this mascara a couple of years back as it was super affordable and i'm always on the hunt for a new favourite mascara. Cheap mascaras can be done well - Essence, Wet n Wild do some great ones, but this is awful, it was dry and clumpy from the first time I used it, straight out of the packaging. Packaging is average, did nothing for my lashes and clumped all my lashes together. Would avoid completely - even for the price.

Not bad.

The packaging of this mascara reminds me of a mascara I used to love as a teenager called panoramic. I purchased this from the warehouse the price is good for the variety of products you can get. I would have liked to have get another drug store brand but the retail price markup is high I could get cheaper elsewhere plus I have a baby now and soo much make up I decided as I had seen this on BR with only one review I would try it and get money back in points :) I also bought the packet with a mascara an eye liner and a pencil sharpener in it which already seems like great value to compare the two mascaras of the same brand. I tried the above mascara first and the brush is like an egg shape the formula in comparison to the other one is a little dryer and not as smudgey but to be honest there is not a huge difference the other mascaras brush is thinner at the end and it is a wetter type. I will be interested to see the shelf life of these formulas with the first coat of the above product nothing impressed me but with multiple layers I could get a nice effect with not lots of clumps. The lashes are a bit more curved upward than the other mascara too it is slightly better but not by much. feeling my lashes with the product on they feel the same a little dry but just standard not like there is a heavy coating. I did need to put loads of layers on to get a good effect but over all this is a decent product to help you get length I like that it didnt dry too fast so I could keep combing through more layers and separate my lashes I like how my lashes didnt all stick together like some other brands. This is worth the money.

Good for those on a budget

When I first started out getting in to makeup I thought I would try the cheapest options first to explore whether I liked makeup or not. The first thing I bought in the LA Colors range was the Lash Mascara Perfect Curve. At $5 I couldn't complain and didn't really have any expectations because it was my first real makeup item.

The mascara comes in a silver/grey tube which is quite appealing to the eye. The tube resembles an hourglass shape almost which depicts the curve part of the name. The formula I found to be quite gluggy and thick but I wasn't to know any different. The wand is quite standard as far as I am concerned although the brush itself doesn't have as many bristles as I would have liked to be able to fan out my lashes a bit more.

I start at the root of the lashes and wriggle it through to coat them first. I find that it creates volume, The mascara itself was a tad clumpy and required me to brush through a bit to get it even. I continue through the lengths of my lashes to the tips. Not only did it lengthen but it gave off a sense of thick lashes too. I was quite impressed with the result. One thing I do dislike is that it makes my lashes stick together and they go hard like I have used hair gel in them. It actually hurts to remove it because it takes a fair bit of elbow grease to get the lashes apart. It pulls some of my lashes out in the process too.

All in all if you are on a tight budget or just starting out, this mascara is perfect for you. It is cheap but isn't of the lowest quality ever. I owned mine for three months before I threw it out so be aware that it will go off sooner than alot of other mascaras I have used.

Tips: Replace mascara often
