Maybelline Volum' Express the Colossal Review

I made the mistake of buying the waterproof version of the mascara. While the mascara itself is good - easy to apply, creates good volume and length in the lashes - it was impossible to remove. I would have to scrub my eyes a lot at night to take off the mascara, whcih would leave them irritated by the next morning. It was virtually impossible to remove all of the mascara in this way, so leftover bits added to the irritation. Once I had a shower and washed my face some more, my cheeks would then be stained with the leftovers, and they had to be scrubbed too. I understand it does what it says - it does create colossal lashes, and the waterproofing is very effective, it is just not an experience I would like to go through again!

I got this mascara for my birthday and it is so good. It doesnt smear everywhere and it makes your eyes look soo pretty

Works really well as i hate when I smudge my mascara! It stays on my lashes very well and i don't have to worry when I rub my eyes. Even though it is a pain to take off, it is all worth it to have long lasting mascara that lasts the day!

Ive had this mascara for two weeks now and am absolutely in love. I use this by it self or with a mix of other maybelline mascaras it is amazing and easy to apply. I find it comes off really easy I dont have the waterproof one so thats probably why. Only thing I dislike about this mascara is the smell, smells a little like paint to me but once its on the smell is gone so thats alright :)

Kinda clumpy, very thick. Quite voluminous, but can be overdone very very easy. True black. Dries very quickly if you dont screw the top super tight

Surprised to read so many amazing reviews of this product! Personally I didn't really like it. From the name, I was expecting quite dramatic lashes, but I found it didn't really lengthen or thicken much at all in comparison to other mascaras i have, which are definitely things most of us look for in a mascara. Was just a bit non descript for me! However I do like the brush size and shape and a pro would be that it doesn't clump up or give you those horrid, stuck together lashes. It's ok but nothing special!

I have been using this for about a year now & love it. I dont end up with clumpy looking lashes like I have with other brands. I find it really easy to apply just glides on in fact I dont even need to reload my brush unless I want to build to a fuller look.

I really really love this mascara. It's one that doesn't cost a fortune and you can keep coming back to time and again.

The formula is perfect for a mascara and your lashes get a good coating and look long, full and fabulous looking lashes everytime.

This is a really good everyday mascara - and it was a cult favourite when it came out and I think it pretty much still is a favourite of many women.

I've had a spotty past with Maybelline mascara for me they've been entirely hit or miss. For me, when they hit - they are awesome. When they miss... They're terrible. I was excited to try this as I received it as a gift and the packaging reminded me heaps of the Colossal Cats Eye mascara.

I love the brush on this - a mascara is only as good as it's wand and this wand is awesome. It's nice and bushy and quite large but it gets right into my lashes and coats them evenly. The wand doesn't tug or pull my lashes out and is comfortable to use.

I love how full and separated my lashes look after applying this - I have thick lashes so it's difficult for me to find something that doesn't turn them into a clump of eyelash haha. This doesn't and I love that.

The pigment, as with most of the Maybe Line mascaras I've tried, is awesome, dark and very black. It dries fairly quickly and once on it didn't budge on me.

I will purchase this when my current one runs out (I was given this one as a gift), and I recommend it for anyone who wants a great everyday mascara.

I like this mascara but I didnt feel it created collosal anything with one stroke. If I apply several brushes worth it gave a great look, but nothing that I would say stood out from the ordinary. As far as mascaras go this is a great every day wear, but If your looking for an evening WOW look then for me this wouldnt be my first choice.
