Maybelline Colossal Up To 36H Waterproof Mascara

This mascara looked promising for creating volume as it has a large brush, however on application so little of the product comes off the brush with each swipe it wasn't giving me any volume. It looks very natural which is odd given it's claims. I will say that it doesn't clump, but that's because not enough product ends up on your lashes for this to happen. I tried two coats and still had significantly less volume than many other volumising mascaras that I've tried in the past. It did however hold up it's claims of being waterproof. I wore it to a funeral so it had a good cry test and it didn't budge. Overall it just didn't do much for my lashes and I won't be reaching for it again.

On applying this mascara I found I had to apply multiple times just to get the product onto my lashes. Following this I found the volume wasn’t that great. It also states waterproof however I noticed throughout the day the mascara smudged onto my eye lids which I wouldn’t expect from waterproof mascara. Overall I don’t think it’s great, and wouldn’t recommend.

The brush doesn't hold much mascara except for the tip. The consistency is quite fine but at the same time clumpy, I personally prefer a thicker mascara. After multiple coats it still wasn't my desired look, although I can see other people liking this maybe if they prefer less defined lashes and aren't used to a quality mascara. For me eyeliner and mascara is the most important and I like my lashes to look thick and long. This product is not for me. I found the mascara ok but not very good quality after some wear the clumps became dusty and just not a good experience.

Great waterproof ability but it clumps ,dries and flakes. Dries my lashes and it's hard to get off. I found I'd lose lashes while trying to remove this mascara. It's a no.

Not a fan of this mascara - became clumpy easily and did nothing for my eyelashes - it is a very pigmented black which I liked and it is most definitely waterproof which is a bonus. I just found it made my lashes look blah - no length, volume or Wow factor - far better and cheaper options on the market.

Picked this up in the vault. I used to use the original Colossal Mascara years ago. It was my number one favorite. I had relatively high hopes for this one.

After using this almost daily for the last month, my original opinion has changed a bit. -Not 100% waterproof can become smudgey when sweaty -Can be clumpy, doesn't separate lashes well. -I find this to be flakey -Dries very fast so I can't layer up the mascara like I usually prefer. However, the one layered look has grown on me. -Gives false lash look which I do enjoy

Didn't perform as well as I liked but still like it enough to continue using it. There are other mascaras that perform the same as and better than this one on the market that are cheaper. I won't be repurchasing.

I've always been a fan of trying any new volumising mascaras so was stoked to be picked to try this one. Packaging is basic but looks good in black, writing is clear and bold. The wand is pretty standard as far as mascara wands go, the colour is a nice intense black and the product itself is a good consistency- nothing worse than watery mascaras when they're first applied and go everywhere. Definitely got some good lash volume out of this but doesn't give lengthening effect that I like in a mascara. Its very waterproof- doesn't flake off or smudge as I found out after getting stuck in an Auckland rainstorm- was impressed at the staying power. Overall its a great mascara for volume and price wise its fab, but I ended up pairing with another mascara to get the length I prefer.

The packaging is simple and similar to other mascara’s but works well for the Maybelline brand and your eyes are draw to the gold Colossal wording on the front. The brush is easy to hold and the bristles evenly spaced out. The consistency is nice not dry but not runny either. The pigment is very black. The mascara definitely doesn’t clump with only a few layers but you need more for any noticeable difference in volume and it doesn’t lift your lashes which is a problem if your lashes are dead straight like mine. I never leave my mascara on for longer then 12 hours so the 36 hour claim I can’t prove but it didn’t smudge during the time I worn it.

This was an interesting mascara I really like the brush and consistency of the formula but if I was going to be honest I would probably not repurchase it again as I needed so many layers to get a descent look which did make it harder to get off then other waterproof mascara I have used.
