MAC Brow Pencil Review

This is one of my favourite brow products! I have repurchased it 3 times and am still in love with it. The colour is a perfect match for my naturally dirty blonde hair. It is a soft blondey taupe shade which is buildable. The pencil is quite thin which allows for a precise application.

I have found that the pencil works best when applied after a brow plumper – such as L’Oreal’s brow artist plumper. When used in this order the products blend together to create a full and natural looking brow.

I used to be completely loyal to MAC Lingering brow pencil a few years ago and recently revisited it, and I don't think I will repurchase. I I still have to use a fine brush and powder or gel to do the tail of my brows so it's nice and sharp, so I personally prefer using a brush and another product instead. This is however amazing in terms of pigmentation, and it's super handy for on the go so I'll probably always have one in my bag for that reason.

I purchased this brow pencil in stud, a deep rich blackened brown. The range comes in 10 shades so literally a shade for most people.

The design is pretty good, a pen style with a twist mechanism that allows you bring up the desire amount of product. No need for awkward sharpening. The only downside is there is no spooler brush with this pencil so you need to have your own.

It texture is rather creamy and soft. It has a really fine and precise tip, which is great for filling in small gaps without looking unnatural. I apply it using light strokes in areas which need it. I then use a spooler brush to blend out onto my eyebrow. This eyebrow pencil is very long lasting.

This colour matches my natural shade and it has really helps me define my arches without looking horribly unflattering.

It is pretty pricey but I can’t find a similar colour match that works as well at a cheaper price so I will continue to use.

This use to be my holy grail brow pencil for a long time. I use lingering for the front part of my brow and the darker shade (name has rubbed off) for the tail end. It is a creamy consistency and glides on smoothly. It has a fine tip that makes feathering on tiny "brow hairs" effortless. With a light hand I can achieve very natural looking brows, and if needed a little bit more pressure creates more defined brows. I find if I wind up the product a little too far it can crumble and break off, also you cannot wind it back down, so keep that in mind. Because it is such a creamy product it doesn't have very good staying power, and if Im not careful I can accidentally smudge it. This product would be better if it had a spoil on the other end.

I thought this was a crayon - my bad. I've used this PENCIL for the last few years - colour, spiked. Spiked has seen me through the super blonde and uber dark brown days of my life...and has worked a charm. Love that it is fine tipped, so that natural stroked can be drawn and spots filled in without massive lines. Shame that it can break so easily though! Would be utter perfection if a brush was added to the end!!

MAC is still relatively new to me but seeing that on holiday my faithful Eye of Horus brow define came to end and there was no way I could replace it where I was I went to the local MAC counter to search out a suitable brow pencil, amongst other things.

Colour: Fling (ash blonde/light brown) Design wise this pencil comes in a long, thin black plastic casing with the colour of the pencil inside marked at the bottom of it. There is a lid that covers the pencil at the other end which is sturdy and clicks firmly into place so it stays on when no longer in use, keeping the softer pencil inside safe from dirt and debris.

This is a twist mechanism pencil with ridged areas to place your fingers to twist the product up out of the plastic casing. The ridges make your grip more firmer and the twisting effect more easy.

The formula of the pencil inside is soft and I wouldn't advise that you left it our in the sun for too long, or store in direct sunlight as it will become a melted mess. It has a slight wax texture to it too which helps keep the softness under control to allow you to easily and precisely apply to your brows to fill in those missed gaps. The only downside to the pencil is that there is no spooler which resulted in me having to keep my brow define empty for it's spooler whilst travelling, I do however have spare spoolers at home so this is no problem there.

Being soft means it blends easily and give the whole brow a softer, filled in look rather than harsh lines. The colour is evenly pigmented it is constant without drag or blotchy application.

It doesn't stack up to my holy grail brow pencil but comes a very close second in regards to staying power, it did remain where I placed it without mixing into the oily areas of my forehead, so there was no shifting. However by the end of the day it did look a little patchy where it had rubbed off. This is probably corrected with the use of a setting spray and reduced touching of the area.

I struggle with my brows, and I've tried a lot of different products to try and help.

I've been reading great reviews about this pencil, and I thought I'd give it a try. Boy am I glad I did!

This is a 'mechanical' type pencil, not the traditional 'sharpen' type of pencil. The pencil itself is very thin, and the tip is quite fine (which is great in terms of control).

Using it, it goes on like a gel almost - then it seems to dry to be quite resilient. The ultra fine tip means that you can really control and do light strokes or smudge it if you want a less defined look.

The best part is how long this stays on - I've been wearing it all day with it staying in place till I remove my makeup at night.

Totally love this pencil, and would recommend to anyone thinking of giving it a try.

I love this product i love how creamy the product is and the colour selections, i like that the tip if the pencil allows you to slightly feather it following the natural path of your hair growth. It is fantastic for making perfect sharp edges and making your brows pop. All in all i would repurchase and recommend this product to every girl!
