Quick and easy perfection

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade has received a lot of attention on the Internet over the past few months and after reading many positive comments I slipped it into my Nordstrom order. This highlights the only negative aspect to the product: it is affordable but not particularly accessible. For direct shipping you can order from the Anastasia Beverly Hills official website, BeautyBay or net-a-porter (net-a-porter have beautiful packaging) or if using a forwarding company such as Youshop, you can order from Nordstrom and add in a few other goodies. It is not available in Farmers or pharmacies within New Zealand.

Previously I had been using the E.L.F brow powder, which did the job but did not last all day. The dipbrow is not a powder or pencil, but a creamy, dense product that would perhaps be most similar to a pot lip balm consistency or gel liner. It is contained within sturdy, sleek packaging that prevents the product from drying out. have been using this product daily for 3 months and there is very little dent in the product and no drying out is visible.

I use the Real Techniques brow brush to apply this product and find it perfectly compatible. It does build up on the brush quickly so I wash this brush more often than my other makeup brushes. By starting with a small amount of product and brushing it through my brows I am left with even, defined but natural looking brows. This product allows for different preferences to be explored as more product can be added depending on the definition and darkness that you want to achieve. The formula allows for a natural line to be achieved, or precise definition, depending on how it is applied. I have noticed no smudging and the product stays in place all day with no fading. I use the Blonde shade, which looks lighter in the pot than it does on the brows and is possibly too dark for those who want a 100% natural, girl-next-door look with blonde hair. There is a good colour range available and with some internet research it should be easy to find your ideal shade.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade is as easy to use as the E.L.F brow kit, but provides the lasting power, definition and colour selection of a pencil.

Tips: Start with a small amount of product and then build up to create an even coverage.

Taupe

I was lucky enough to receive this in the shade Taupe from a friend. You can however pick this product up for AUD$19.60 from beautybay. The packaging is lovely but practical and feels quite expensive. A glass pot with a plastic lid. On the lid is a golden logo.

Taupe is a lovely darkened blonde with a hint of grey. For me this colour creates quite a dramatic brow but I quite like that for a night out. To use this I use a small angled brow brush. It has the texture of a cream eyeshadow which at first I found extremely weird when I first got it. I was expecting it to be like a thick gel like I have used in my Benefit Brow Zings kit.

I find to apply this it is best to put a light amount over your brows and then I comb it through quite thoroughly to get an even coverage of colour then brush hairs into place. I then use a cotton bud to clean up the edges. I find it incredibly easy to use too much of this product. In saying that it is easy to use too much product you still use nothing at all, I can imagine that if this didn't dry up (which I imagine it will at some stage) that it could last you years. The staying power of this is amazing! My brows are in the exact same spot at the end of the day as they are at the start when I use this. If you didn't wash your face (ew) I could imagine this staying in place for days.

For me this isn't an everyday product as I feel it needs a bit more effort to make it look perfect than using a powder or brow pencil. However it still has a time and place which for me is when I have extra time to look nice, or a day long event, or if I'm doing my makeup in the morning but have something on at night. So it has a time and place for me, but that isn't everyday.

Cult Item

ASH Dip brow has such an online cult following I just had to get my mits on it, being a blonde I ordered Blonde from Beautybay and after a long wait I finally owned it! I find it easy to apply although you do need a light hand as it can definitely cause you to have pretty intense brows if applied heavily. I like to apply mine with a fairly stiff angled brush (I use Real Techniques). It comes in a fantastic range of shades, I am tempted to order Taupe as well. As for price I think it is more than reasonable!

Tips: Don't leave the lid off for any longer than necessary it has a tendency to dry out quickly!

Best Brows

I have been using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade for about 6 months now, I love it to death. I have white blonde hair and use the colour blonde.. I find it can sometimes be a bit too dark for me but that is easily fixed.

The first thing I love about this product is the lasting power of it, I can be at work for a whole day and my brows are still in prime condition. I tend to have a super light hand for when I use this everyday as I said above the colour is a little dark. I naturally have thick bold brows but they are fair so using this gives me great definition and it really helps to shape my face.

I also love this product because it lasts soon long.. As in I think it'll take me two years to ever hit pan! I personally love the packaging of it - reminds me of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo packaging. The only downfall is that because it is glass if you drop it you could potentially ruin it.

I use this with a brow gel over top to set it in place lately I have been loving MAC Brow Set

Tips: Use an angled brow brush ABH sells one with a spoil attached. If you find you have applied it too dark anywhere take your foundation brush and run it over top this will sheer out the dipbrow formula

Anastasia Dipbrow

Dipbrow is a product that definitely deserves all the hype it's gotten. Although it takes a little bit of practice to master, once you've gotten used to the consistency and intense pigmentation Dipbrow becomes super versatile. You can get an extremely defined and dark 'Instagram' brows, or you can use a very light hand and minimal product to get a lighter, softer and more natural looking brow. I definitely recommend getting the shade lighter than you think you might need as it's a lot easier to darken up the brow with more product than it is to try and lighten it by brushing through with a spoolie.

The staying power of Dipbrow is incredible. I've gone swimming, and even snorkeled with the mask rubbing on my eyebrows and my brows stay looking pretty neat! It will not budge throughout the day even with my occasionally very oily skin. I find it is easiest to remove with an oil or cleansing balm.

The product also lasts an extremely long time as you only have to use a tiny amount. I keep mine on my dresser but out of the sun and have had no problems with it drying out even though I use it almost every day and have had it for 6+ months.

Dipbrow is the best brow product I've ever used as it is so easy to change up the look of your eyebrows with the product, it's definitely not a one trick pony.

Tips: I find it easiest to use an angled brush to apply, and it's important to wipe the brush off with a makeup wipe or tissue after every use so product doesn't build up on the brush.

New Year New Holy Grail!

So im sure we've all heard a whole lot about this amazing product. I picked mine up for around $25 its so so worth the price!

Firstly i Love the colour range! There are 7 different colours ranging from blonde to Ebony. This is much more than a lot of brands who may only have 3 or 4 shades. It makes it so much easier to decide on a colour when you see the swatches. Such a great selection.

I really like the packaging. It came in a little black box with the logo on it and inside was a glass jar with a black lid. Nice clean and classic packaging that feels quiet luxurious.

I picked the shade Dark Brown which suits me perfectly! Im really loving the colour match and how natural it looks. With this a little goes a long way! You only need the tiniest bit which i learned the hard way the first time I used it. It makes it so worth while as i know its going to last a very long time.

It goes on so smoothly and is very pigmented. I can literally just draw a line at the bottom of my brows and brush it upwards for a nice natural look. Or you can easily add more product for a dramatic brow if you wish. This product sets very well even without a brow gel. It stays in place all day which is fabulous! Nobody likes it when their brows fade half way through the day.

This is such an amazing and high quality product that is essential to anyone's kit. I will highly recommend this to everyone i know who wants to have fabulous eyebrows!

i loved this!

When I dyed my eyebrows this was what I used and the colour is amazing like I didn't think I could find something for the colour of the eyebrows but I did and its smooth to apply with a flat angled brush . it lasts long buts it sorta expensive. My eyebrows were black and I needed some brown and this worked nicely to ombre.

My favourite brow product

I purchased this from beautybay for around $17nzd when they were having the black friday sale. I use dark brown.

this is a very long lasting prodct and i find that i can use this colour to draw on very defined and dramatic brows as well as subtle brows.

i showered with this on and it stayed on my face, although i didnt wash my face, but my mascara and lipstick came off with the stam from the shower.

use an angled brush and a spooly to apply this

Tips: you literally need the tiniest amount so when you use it, be very light handed otherwise your brows can look a little too drawn on.

Not for everyone!

I say its not for everyone because I have pretty sparse and light eyebrows; I could not get this product to look "natural" (as natural as filled in eyebrows can look!).

I purchased this in Dark Brown from Beauty Bay. The first time I used this I wore it to the gym to ensure it was sweat proof! In which it was so I was reassured wearing it during summer.

How to apply - I literally just touch the brush to the product, with no pressure, you don't need much as it is very pigmented. Brush along the bottom of you eyebrow to create the shape and then pull the product upwards and across. It also helps to tame the brows.

After a fair bit of usage, it has developed a "crust" - almost like a rubbery texture. I have scrapped this off so that I can continue using this! Seems a bit wasteful but I guess it dries out a bit each time you use.

Also this particular product is made in China. Not that I have an issue with this, but it needed to be mentioned. I would consider Anastasia products to be "high end" so I was not expecting this to be produced in China.

Great for when you want a dramatic look, otherwise the creamy consistency and pigmentation added to my sparse eyebrows isn't ideal for everyday "natural" look.

Tips: Use a spooley to blend

Have you tried storing it upside down? Products like this and cream or gel eye-liners are best stored upside down to prevent drying out :)

Brow Game

I had been hanging out to get my hands on this product for so long. I finally purchased it from Beauty Bay.

This stuff is amazing! It's so pigmented and creamy, it literally just glides on.

A tiny amount is needed as a little goes a long way. Use a light hand when applying for a more natural look, perfect for everyday. However you can also create some rather dramatic looks with this as well.

I use the colour chocolate and I think its the perfect colour for me, I wouldn't go any darker as it would look too harsh.

I apply this with a small angled brush from ELF and it works really well.

Sometimes I use this as an eyeliner as well and it stays on really well without smudging.

Tips: You will need to practice using this product as it's so easy to use too much when you first start using this.

Thanks @Lutece. You must try it, you'll be hooked. I would say Chocolate is a brown shade with reddish brown undertones. Not as harsh as dark brown or ebony in my opinion. If you google it, there are loads of great swatches for all the colours.
