Colgate Optic White Toothpaste review

As a heads up, I contacted Colgate regarding my issues with the product and sent it back and received some vouchers to make up for it;

This toothpaste is horrible to deal with. I like to switch between two different toothpastes, especially when it comes to the ones with a higher amount of the whitening ingredient in them.

Bad idea; This toothpaste hardened in the tube and I could not get it out because it hadn't just hardened near the opening - it was like the whole middle of the tube had hardened and I had to squeeze and manipulate the tube in order to move that hard core out of the way and pop a pin or other object in there to dislodge it from the opening.

Nice toothpaste otherwise, not sure about the whitening side of it as I gave up on the toothpaste after having to unclog it a couple of times.

It may have been a faulty batch though so I /might/ try it again..

I found this toothpaste heated up in my mouth when I used it. It was quite gritty too. I didn't notice much of a difference after using up the tube. Although the taste of the toothpaste was pleasant. I wouldn't purchase it again based on my results and the price of it.

This product is just your normal toothpaste. I didn't notice any effect of whitening on my teeth, I would not use this product again.

I used two tubes of this toothpaste over a couple of months. I think it did help whiten my teeth a little bit, maybe 1 or 2 shades but nothing really spectacular.

The packaging is nice, I like the bold red and how it stands out from most of the other toothpastes. It is quite expensive though, around double the price of what I would usually spend. It tastes ok, not my favourite, I do like strong toothpastes but I like a more minty aftertaste and this didn't quite do it for me.

I would never use this again though. After a week or two of using it, I was getting massive breakouts on my chin. They were huge and sore and nothing I was doing was working. At the time I thought it was my skincare because I like to use new products all the time but I couldn't pinpoint it to anything. I used this toothpaste for 2 monthsish and a week after I started using another toothpaste, my skin had cleared up. I thought it was a co-incidence until I read that a lot of other people have this problem too. For that reason, I would never use this toothpaste again. The awful acne was so not worth the small amount of whitening that I got from this product. there are way more whitening products out there that don't break me out so I'd rather use those. Actually even if this didn't break me out, it's probably not one I would gravitate towards either. It is very expensive and the tube is on the small side as well so doesn't last too long.

I bought this toothpaste when it was first released in nz as i had seen that it had been released in the uk a few months earlier however i was expecting it to at least whiten my teeth one or two shades lighter but it didn't really seem to make much of a difference in my opinion.

I found that it was quite expensive compared to other toothpastes and wasn't a spectacular product compared to the cheaper toothpastes, if you are wanting to whiten your teeth then there are probably other products that you can purchase online that would do a better job.

The taste of the toothpaste was ok however for the price id rather just buy another toothpaste that also tastes ok.

Highly recommend that if you are looking to dramatically whiten your teeth then look into other products like crest whitening strips that you can purchase online as these seem to actually work whereas i don't think that colgate optic white toothpaste is an amazing product for whitening your teeth.

I only used this product for a few days so I can't comment on whether or not it is effective at whitening your teeth as that takes four weeks of continuous use - but I hated the taste so much! I felt like I hadn't even brushed my teeth, my mouth did not feel fresh afterwards at all!! If I was to continue using this product I think I would either mix it with another toothpaste or brush with another toothpaste first :)

I used this product along with the recommended electric toothbrush until the tube ran out. I saw very little, if any, difference in the shade of teeth. Only positive was I spent more time cleaning my teeth!

I used two tubes of this toothpaste to give it the benefit of the doubt but it didnt do much at all! I think it may have lightened my teeth maybe one shade or it may have just been me hoping that there was some kind of payoff. You just use this like any other toothpaste, but I feel as if it didnt really do great in toothpaste standards either. My breath didnt feel super fresh or my teeth amazingly clean. For the price and the results I will not be repurchasing.

I usually use red seal baking soda toothpaste for whitening but when I saw this on special for about $8 I decided to give it a go. The packaging is a vibrant red and appealing to me. It comes in a standard squeezy tube with a flip top lid.

The toothpaste is very thick, it tastes OK and does a good job at cleaning my teeth. As for the whitening well it did make them a tad whiter but I feel like you have to continue using this for it to be really effective and it is not a toothpaste I would want to use forever.

It also makes my gums feel tingly and made my teeth feel sensitive which I have never had issues with before. For this reason alone I would not repurchase. I much prefer my trusty red seal toothpaste.

I was so excited to try this product. After seeing before and afters online, i certainly thought it would work. However, i was disappointed! After using the product for a few months, i still didn't notice much of a difference. I also found it slightly harsh on my teeth. You could certainly feel it cleaning your teeth but in my opinion, was too rough. I wouldn't purchase it again.
