Clean & Clear Advantage Fast Clearing Spot Gel Review

I was put off by fast clearing spot gels a few years back when another company had one and was a little more expensive than this gel and did nothing, but having a pretty decent breakout and spotting this version on special as I shopped I caved and threw it into the trolley.

Design wise this is a very sleek tubed product that is in keeping with the rest of the Clean & Clear Advantage range in shades of grey and purple. The slim design means it is handy to toss into your handbag or keep on your bedside counter without taking up too much room, I did both of these as I was clearing up my outbreak.

The formula is a gloopy white creamy gel that has a sheer shimmer to it in the sunlight, but once applied to the area on your face that needs treating it rubs into nothing as it is fast absorbed into your skin. It works pretty fast too within a few hours I went from having a few very sore looking pimples to just some light bumps on the face that lost both size and painfulness. I kept using this treatment on and off for 48 hours and found that the pimples dried out and disappeared completely.

I now keep a tube on my vanity for any sudden outbreak to nip it in the butt there and then, also when I see it on special again I'm planning on getting another tube for in the handbag so I am fully prepared!!

This is something I've had for over a year, and used on and off. However, I'm not that thrilled with the results it gives, and I won't repurchase once I've run out.

I don't have major acne, but I do get the occasional deep pimple (the painful, cystic kind) due to hormones, etc (yay!). No matter what I do, they last for ages, are really painful, and nearly always leave a bit of redness in their wake. Hate 'em! Fortunately they're not a daily battle for me, but I do get them every now and again.

This gel treatment works well on normal breakouts in terms of drying them out and helping them to heal faster. However, I find that it usually leaves me with more redness than usual, which can take weeks or months to fade away on my skin.

In terms of the deep, cystic spots, I don't think that this does anything much for them. It definitely doesn't stop them from progressing, and again, it seems to emphasize redness.

On top of all of that, it is drying enough that I usually get some dry, flaky patches around any breakouts if I use it - and it's not fun to conceal that without it looking cakey and awful!

So, overall, not a fan. However, I still use it occasionally for a quick fix on normal breakouts if they're really bothering me. Wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a really deep-action spot gel.

I saw this whole system and bought it to try it out. I don't have really bad acne but the occasional breakout means I still need to have a product that really works!

This worked for me for a while but it might be true that after a while your skin gets used to it and develops a certain tolerance to it. When I used it at first, it did help to reduce the size and redness of my pimples overnight!

One thing i didn't like about it was the packaging. I have to let it lie on its side but when you almost get to the end of the product, its really hard to get it out of the tube.

But for that price, it may still be worthwhile to try!

I absolutely love this product! I initially used it when I bought the range of Advantage products and definitely fell in love with this one! Apart from the smell this product works wonders (especially overnight) on annoying breakouts that you just need gone. Doesn't miraculously get rid of them in one try but definitely decreases in size and dries them up a bit. Would definitely recommend this for people with acne as it has been a life saver - for me anyways!

I tried this with the entire range of Clean and Clear Advantage products and this is the only one that worked for me, and in my opinion really lived up to it's claims.

It comes in quite a small tube, but as you only need to use a small amount it does last quite some time. The thing that I didn't like about the tube though was that I found I often ended up squeezing far too much gel out so a lot of product was wasted.

The gel itself does smell a tad chemically, but that's to be expected from something that has 2% salicylic acid and it's not too overpowering. The gel dries very quickly so I applied a small amount to spots after using the Clean & Clear toner and before moisturising so that my skin would get the full effect of it.

Although blemishes didn't vanish overnight, I did find this treatment was incredibly effective in treating my pimples over a few days. I think it's fantastic value for an acne treatment product at such a low price and would recommend this for anyone with acne-prone skin.

I was using this a long time ago when I was having breakouts due to stress and had oily skin.

My skin is currently quite dry - so I wouldn't use it in its dry condition but I would if my skin was prone to oiliness.

This definitely helped me deal with breakouts - the liquid feels like it dries the spots, which is helpful for reducing redness and making them shrink and disappear.

I was using this as well as the toner and the cleanser and I found that this was the one product I liked the best out of that range.

This comes in a deceptively small squeezy tube. At first I was thinking I had gotten ripped off due to the size of this (I got this as part of a kit), but you really only need a small amount. The product itself is a gel kind of substance that applies and dries clear.

It does feel a little drying on your skin so I wouldn't go putting this all over your face - just stick to where the breakouts are.

For anyone that has oily skin and is prone to breakouts, I recommend using this as it definitely helped my pimples go away.

I brought this a while ago and found it awesome! Dont let the small bottle put you off. You only use a little bit at a time,as you only need to put it on the actual pimple. I would put it on at night and by morning my ugly pimple had downsized and didnt get any worse. It is a gel like substance and it does dry out your skin, so make sure u only put it on the pimple-not surrounding areas. I love this stuff

I bought this product as a post-acne treatment for when I had a spot (big or small) I found that after a while, my skin became immune or used to the gel so became less effective. Maybe it didn't work so well for me because of my acne prone skin. Very easy to use and easy to apply. Very cost affective and accessable.

I used this as part of the whole kit (except for the toner).

This product is not intended to be used daily, it is for treating those annoying breakouts and help clear them away faster. I believe this product does exactly that.

It is a gel-based product that should be used sparingly. When I use it, I put a tiny dot onto my middle finger and then dab it onto any ugly pimples. I do it at night time before I go to bed after I have cleaned my face.

I find when I use this the pimples dry out and are gone in half the usual amount of time. It helps with those deep ugly pimples that never come to a head as it dries them out and kills the infection. Obviously it is not a miracle treatment, the pimples don't go away over night, but they definitely don't stick around on me as long as they do when I don't use the treatment.

The packaging is not so great, as it won't stand up. This means when you get half way through it's a bit of a mission to squeeze it out. I solve this problem by standing it up in a cup in my bathroom cabinet.
