Dr. LeWinn’s Recoverëderm Australian Marine Algae Rescue Mask Review

I received this mask in the CBBBE and am so glad I that did :-)

I had epilated the peach fuzz from my face and thought I needed something to calm my skin. The mask has an outer layer on each side to keep intact. The mask fits easily on your face and stays there while the gel like consistency works it's magic. The instructions say to leave it on for 20 minutes but I left it on for an hour as it felt so good on my skin and was enjoying some me time. There was enough product left over to use on my neck, decolletage and hands. The scent is mild and ties in with the marine algae.

The result for me was amazing, my skin has never felt so smooth and soft and this includes my hands, not bad for 50+. In the morning my face and hands were still so soft and smooth and this is by far the best facial mask that I have used.

I will definitely be buying this and will purchase for friends.

As far as Sheet Masks go, this has a luxurious feel while on your face due to the jelly like mesh - which does feel very nice. Once this is off the face, this felt like a basic moisturizer and my skin felt 'tight' about 30mins later. My overall impression is 'Meh'.

The sheet mask is a jelly texture in between a layer of mesh on either side. I think the mesh layers are unnecessary and fiddly, the actual mask is strong and wouldn't be at risk of ripping. Initially I didn't even realise they were separate layers and I put the whole thing on my face which of course was stiff and did not work well.

After I had it on properly, the jelly type sheet moulded to my face shape well and didn't slide around like some other types of sheet masks do. However, the smell is awful. I'm sorry but it is really off putting and I struggled to keep it on for the minimum 15 minutes which isn't the relaxing experience you want with a sheet mask.

As for the results, my skin immediately felt hydrated and cooler but after a couple of hours, my skin felt tight again. So overall, I wouldn't use this mask again mostly due to the unpleasant smell it has...

Received in BBBE Xmas box. Packaging highlights benefits of using the mask eg restoring moisture, helps reduce skin sensitivity and promotes skin elasticity and firmness. The mask itself is folded in between two sheets. I personally think it's unnecessary and quite annoying to separate and apply. Once applied the jelly texture of the mask conforms to the face well. Relaxing and soothing experience.

While wearing the mask, it took me awhile to place the scent what it reminded me off. That being lube, which is the weirdest smell from a face product. Results after using the mask are lovely. Skin does look hydrated and firmer. The remaining serum in the sachet (which was generous) was more than enough for face, neck and decolltegé application.

Aside from the smell, which is the only negative thing I have to say about this product. It's a good mask and performs well. I rarely purchase sheet type masks but would consider purchasing this in future.

This mask was really fun to scare the kids with... Just kidding, but no seriously. I really enjoyed taking 20 minutes out of my day to use this face mask. When opening the packet I was slightly confused about how to apply it as it has what look like 3 layers of mask inside, but after reading the instructions again you need to remove the outer two layers and apply the one that has a Jelly like consistency. After a few minutes I had something that resembled a face mask/or potentially an alien mask. The mask felt refreshing like I could imagine putting 20 cucumber slices all over your face would feel. There was no scent to the face mask, nor any irritation which was great for my sensitive skin. It left my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. I would definitely use this again
