Unfortunately, MAC seems to consistently let us down with everything but lipstick. This eyeliner, like all their others, barely gets the job done and then rubs away completely almost instantly.
I primarily use pencil eyeliner on my waterlines and occasionally to blend just under and over my lashes top and bottom. This eyeliner produces a really washed out translucent effect on your waterline and will wash or rub off within a couple hours, max. You never get a good strong opaque line. I tried wiping the tip before I use it, wetting the tip and a fresh sharpen. None of it made a difference. It's marginally acceptable for smudging under your eye for a smokey look but will not do the job if you want a smart, sharp, dark water line effect.
My general experience with MAC eyeliners, both pencil and liquid, is the same. They are bad quality products that are drastically overpriced. You're just paying for the sake of using MAC branded products and it's absolutely not worth it.
