L’Oreal Paris Nourishing Sugar Scrub is thick and creamy in texture, with 3 sugars which are described as “fine” but I found to be hardy enough to get to work on my very dry, flaky and sensitive skin. To apply you simply scoop it out of the pretty, simple jar, and gently apply to clean, dry skin as you would with any other scrub - one concern with this is the hygiene factor, but if your hands are clean and dry before application, this should be *too* much of an issue! Then add a little warm water to melt the sugars before rinsing off.
It is lightly frangranced (I personally felt it smelled a little like cheapish Shea Butter); but the smell doesn’t linger for long.
It comes in quite a small jar, and I felt as though it wouldn’t last awfully long given the amount you need to apply to get a good coverage of product, however it left my skin feeling so smooth, buffed away all flakiness and didn’t irritate my skin at all that I would definitely purchase this again.
What I truly loved about this product is that it wasn’t super harsh but the sugars weren’t so fine that they didn’t actually do anything. After two weeks of using the product, my skin is smooth and dewy and feels super hydrated - I just wish they’d make a bigger size!
After a week of camping, this scrub made me happy with my skin again.
When I read the article about a face sugar scrub I was blown away. It's something I'd never thought about even though using other kinds of face scrub is normal. And I was even happier to see that there were options for people with sensitive skin (yay, it's for me too!).
Starting off with the packaging, I do like the pottle. It means there is no never quite getting all your product out of a tube (especially hard when it comes to scrubs). It looks quite chic and is a different shape to my other face products so is easy to find without my glasses on.
But onto the important part: the product. From the moment I opened it, this scrub smelt divine! It was very tempting to take a bite. But don't do that, because you don't want to miss out on what this does for your skin. The sugar was surprisingly fine and there was a nice amount of cocoa butter to help it move and melt on my face. I did have to use more than I usually would for my normal cleansing face scrub, but there is enough product in the pottle for me to be happy using more, I know it'll last a while. According to the directions you are supposed to gently massage the scrub until the sugars dissolve - this I didn't do on all parts of my face, as I found on my more dry/sensitive spots a shorter time was more comfortable. But a warm face cloth was enough to finish that off. And I guess that's one of the great things about this scrub, you can play with the amount you scrub according to your skin's needs.
After drying off my face I was so impressed, I honestly couldn't stop stroking my own face. (I also got the hubby to feel!) And what's even better is that this has been a lasting improvement. So definitely a huge thumbs up for me!!
Tips: On the box it says you can use it as a lip scrub too... do it. Doooooooo iiiiiiiiiit!
