Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky Shampoo and Conditioner

I liked the idea of having a shampoo and conditioner in one - as I tend to be a bit lazy. However, I bought this to help with my dandruff.

I used this every time I washed my hair for just over a month. FirstLy I found the smell absolutely repulsive - it's a kind of gross sweet chemical smell. But because I didn't want to waste product I ignored it and used it anyway.

It didn't froth up a whole lot which I found a little odd, but it rinsed out well and my hair felt clean when I got out of the shower.

When I went to comb it, it was super, super knotty and it felt awful. It didn't feel sleek like it usually does after washing it. It was really painful combing my hair because it was so knotty.

When my hair dried it looked really dry and unhealthy. Initially I thought that this was just my hair adjusting to a new shampoo. When this didn't improve over the course of 6 weeks, I decided it was this - as I hadn't done anything different to my hair or diet.

Also my dandruff seemingly got worse. For the first two weeks it was really bad and my sister - who studied hairdressing, said that it is just the shampoo/conditioner getting rid of my dandruff. After this didn't improve I started questioning the shampoo but continued with it as I though it could just my scalp adjusting to it.

Alas, I loathe this shampoo/conditioner combo. It could just be my hair or my scalp not liking it - I'm not sure. My boyfriend swears by this and he has gorgeous shiny hair with no dandruff. But for me this was just awful. It didn't suit my hair or scalp. Based on this I will never buy or use this again, I've had better results using dishwasher liquid (the things you do when camping). I wouldn't recommend this based on my experience with it but my boyfriend has great results with it, so it obviously works for some - just not me.

I have thick long hair that tends to be oily on my scalp and dry at the ends. I will use head and shoulders once a week to give my hair a good clean (i alternate between H&S and my regular shampoo and conditoner) i use to use selsun blue for dandruff but i hated the smell, H&S is much more pleasent and clears dandruff well.

It does tend to leave my hair quite dry though so i either use my regular conditioner after using H&S shampoo or i use a but of hair oil after washing my hair.

Over all i am happy with this product, it is a bit pricey but the big bottles are great!

I am a long time user of head and shoulders and am very happy with the range. I find it does work for dandruff which is very important to me but it also helps keep my hair full of moisture without going greezy, the smells of this range are also incredible. my partner also get dandruff really badly and he tried this before going out to buy something expensive and is really happy with the results. I personally wouldn't say that its 100% like they claim but for a reasonable priced product, its something to still be happy with. I would happily buy again and will always recommend people try before going out and buying something more expensive. the fact that you can purchase from a supermarket is convenient.

I tried this product many years ago due to having bad dandruff but this product only made my dandruff problem worse so I stopped using it. I found that it left my hair feeling dry as if it stripped all the natural oils from it.

I bought this as I have mild dandruff and had never tried this type of shampoo. I used it for a week and had no change to my scalp and my hair became dry and course. It felt literally like horse hair. I told my bf to use it as he's not fussy and bought something else. Won't be Trying this again

As my hubby says can you buy head and shoulders your snowing everywhere I suffer with psorisus on the scalp so my sheading is really bad! With head and shoulders not only does it make my hair smell great it also gets rid of the dandruff! Long term use I found did affect me a little and one day was unable to use as it gave me sores on my scalp. Have brought again and is fine after giving my head a break from it. Love the smell how thick it is. Would def love if the bottle were bigger though!

My mum has short hair and I have fairly long hair, but since mum does the grocery shopping she always buys this! I have to use alot of product on my hair, but it does the job. I love a good-smelling shampoo but this is pretty average! Pretty basic and nothing too much to rave about :) Cleans the hair and that's about it!

I bought this one because it was a widely used brand that promises dandruff free hair and who doesn't want smooth and silky frizz free hair. Well, it didn't give me the results of a dandruff free scalp much less silky hair. I still had dandruff flakes and my hair although somewhat smooth was still dry and frizzy afterwards. I would say at best it was an average supermarket shampoo at best. I definitely wouldn't go back to using this since I have used much better shampoos and conditioners.

This is my go to when I start to get a bit flakey. I find it only takes a few washes to sort it out if I get early enough. Smells nice & is silky when my hair was in good condition. Now that I'm (artificially) blonde it's not great.
