Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

This foundation gives a comprehensive, matte finish and lasts all day.

Before using this product I recommend getting a colour test to ensure you have the right colour for your skin tone. I have pale, sensitive skin and it has taken a bit of work to get the colour right. Thankfully the makeup counters sent me home with a few test pots!

The product goes on quite thick and isn't very moisturising, so applying a good moisturiser underneath is essential for drier skin like mine.

Finishing with a powder helps the look last longer.

The product comes in a glass bottle and has quite a wide opening. I prefer to put a little on the back of my hand and apply gradually as the foundation is quite thick. Best applied with a sponge/brush then touched up with fingers.

This product really is good bang for your buck - I wear makeup most days and a bottle can last at least six months. I also recommend getting the double wear concealer to complement this purchase.

For such an expensive product I love it. I recently just brought it an it covers my face so well ! I don't need to extra punnet of powder to set of or make it look more suttle because it blends in so damn well and I am amazed at what it can do. It last a lot longer than my other foundations have and I've only recently brought it. Perfect.

After hearing so many things about Estée Lauder's Double Wear foundation when their 10-day sample promotion came about I decided to give it a go.

I have oily, acne-probe skin and work long days so a foundation that provides flawless coverage, combats shine and is long-lasting is something I have been desperately seeking. I was colour-matched to Desert Beige which suited my NW20 skin perfectly now that it's winter.

The formula was pretty thick which I do like in a foundation. I applied it after using primer with a flat-top foundation brush which I used to stipple the foundation. I found this method used less product than a sponge but still created an even, medium coverage. It was really easy to build up full coverage to create a flawless finish. The foundation did set really quickly so it definately pays to work quick! Finally I set the foundation with powder and used my ELF finishing spray.

15 hours later my foundation still looked flawless! I was incredibly impressed by how much it lived up to its long-lasting claims. My makeup really did look the same as applied without any need to reapply. I really thought I was onto my new favourite product as with such an amazing result I felt it was worth the $.

Low and behold, the next day my skin had a massive breakout! With this foundation being the only change, I hoped maybe it was just a new product reaction. Because I loved the finish so much I decided to persist with using the foundation hoping my skin would relax. Unfortunately my skin continued to react each and every time I used it with a new breakout :( Completely heartbroken.

Because of the reaction I had I won't be using Double Wear again and wouldn't recommend to acne-prone ladies, but to anyone with more normal skin give it a go as the result really is great.

I love this foundation! I use it for special occasions so it has lasted me ages, I brought it probably about 6 months ago and I still have about half a bottle left. It's quite an expensive foundation but because it has lasted me so long, I think it's definitely worth the price.

The colour I got matched my skin perfectly and it has really good coverage. I only use it occasionally because of the level of coverage and for me I think it's too much for everyday use. I will definitely be sad when it finally runs out because I love it and it's a lot of money to replace.

I took advantage of the free trial and am working my way through it. Maybe I have a light hand with foundation, maybe I got a generous sample but it seems to be lasting really well. The colour match is really good. I have played with applying it with both a brush and a sponge and I like both but prefer the finish I get on my skin with a sponge. The foundation blends really well and gives good coverage. I am very oily and I am not sure if it lasts as well as revlon colourstay I am starting to get a bit shiny by the end of the day. Overall I like this and will continue to use. It stays put and looks good.

I upgraded to this from Revlon colourstay. It wore nicely and stayed fairly well (not quite as good as colourstay) it matched my skin better but didn't last very long at all! like less than 3 months where as colourstay 4 or 5 and it was twice the price of colourstay. nice foundy but bit price to replace so often :)

I have tried my free 10 day sample and fell in love with this foundation. However it is a bit pricey for my pocket so unfortunately i won't be purchasing But The coverage is amazing, and it gives you a flawless looking finish without all the caking you expect for a full coverage foundation. it doesnt budge for all day wear, and i was matched perfectly by colour so it looks very natural as well.. it is easy to apply with a brush to get it smooth and even all over. I love it. Love love love it! And if you can afford a good foundation you get what you pay for! After hearing everyone rave about it i can see why because it truly truly is a fab foundation!

Absolutely in love with DW by estee lauder i was colour matched and was ivory beige in it. My first time wearing it i go so much compliments it made my skin look flawless and the length of time it lasted was amazing i couldnt believe it.bit pricey but deffinatley worth it, only downfall it doesnt have a pump for it.gets messy easier without one

LOVE LOVE LOVE This is my new holy grail foundation I just tried the free 10 day sample promotion that is going on and loved it. This foundation is full coverage and a little bit goes a long way! it is long wearing and wont smudge off onto your clothes (or your boyfriends clothes :). ) It gives a matte finish so if you have dry skin this foundation may not be for you, I use a really hydrating moisturiser underneath without a primer and it glides on perfectly. This foundation is perfect for special occasions or nights out as it wont smudge and will stay in place. They have a range of colours from light to dark I love this range!!

It gives good coverage and is build-able, it lasts about 8 hours without touch up, my skin is next to perfect from using this and it gives the most amazing healthy looking glow - it's a bit pricey at $69 but well worth it! I also don't need powder or anything on top ONLY THIS I so recommend it!
