Cloud 9 The Original Iron Review

I have been waiting for this product to be added to the review system for ever, just because this is a something that i need to spread the word about. Its amazing.

4 years ago, i was tossing up whether to buy the GHD which seemed to be the best thing in the market, or to spend a little more money and get the Cloud 9's. After doing research, and i mean a lot of research. It seemed original GHD'S were awesome, but the newer ones just werent as good so i was leaning towards buying Cloud 9's. The deciding factor was when i was talking to my hairdresser who wholeheartedly supported cloud 9's, saying if you had to choice, they were the way to go. And so i did.

I purchased my cloud 9's for $350, which i have to admit it a lot, especially if your on a student budget like i was. But my gosh, they are pretty. They come in a black box which has a metallic teal strip running around it, with the cloud 9 logo imprinted on the front. Picture perfect. They came with a velvet carry bag, as well as a cover which means you pack your straighteners away even when they're hot.

Not sold? The straightener is sleek, but you can just tell its quality. From the temperature control settings, you can tailor the heat to suit your hair type, as well as the hair style you want to create. An amazing thing because no one wants to singe their hair. The plates on the straightener are infused with minerals, leaving hair looking shiny and healthy, instead of heat damaged and dry. The plates also glide over my hair, instead of tugging it like GHD's do. The cord is a swivel cord which means you can easily adjust the angle.

This straightener is perfection. I have tried both a GHD , and the cloud 9 and just can't believe the difference. It literally is amazing.

I had never owned Expensive straighteners but often used my friends GHDs or similar and thought they were good, but not good enough to shell out for them when my Remington’s did a pretty close job as far as I was concerned! So when my sister in law bought me a pair of Cloud Nine Straighteners for my birthday after they were recommended to her by her hairdresser and she told me they changed her life, I didn’t believe it and thought they were ridiculously expensive and unnecessary. However, upon using them I realised how much time I would save, how much easier they were too use and how much longer the styles would last! My hair is softer, smoother and just looks more professionally styled using these. It also stays straight longer, even after tying it up with a hair tie or going out in the rain, it seems to frizz less. It’s easier to use it for curls or waves and just the general ease of use because the cord swivels freely, it’s a great length, the switches are inside the handle so I don’t accidentally turn it down or off, it automatically turns on set at the mid heat setting and heats quickly. It’s easy to clean and came in a cute heat resistant bag with clips and a protective cover. I was lucky enough to get a gift set that also included a cloud nine paddle brush which is a great brush too!

I have had my cloud nine original straighteners for 8 years and it works as well as the day I bought them. Amazing. Never skip a beat, love the temperature control and long flexible cord. Great investment

After 10 + years on a set of classic GHD, i decided it was time for an upgrade.

I have huge, frizzy, curly, thick hair which is a nightmare to straigten.

With GHD i found my hair looked boring, lifeless and frizzy not to mention so so dry if I straightened often.

Now that I have changed I would never ever go back. This iron locks in moisture, adds shape into the hair whilst still making it perfectly straight.

I love that it comes with a heat resistant cover and bag and it is honestly so worth the investment.

At high school and even now, I have always owned a set of cheap Remington hair straighteners and never bothered to splurge on anything more, until one of my old friends in our last few years of high school purchased a set of Cloud hair straighteners. These are amazing, my hair is super thick and long and these straighten it within minutes, no burning or steam coming from the straighteners from having to hold them in place for ages to achieve straight hair unlike with my Remingtons, these are brilliant. Also love the movable cord, so it doesn't get caught and twisted when in use. These heat up quickly and do an amazing job, that last for ages - even through rain. Cant remember how many times we used to run late for school due to straightening our hair with the Cloud 9's. Might be time I finally get a pair of my own.

I love my cloud 9 straightener! I've had it for about 4-5 years, it is still going as strong as the day i got it! i was torn at the time over ghd and cloud 9. I decided to go with the cloud 9 as it was raved about so much at time and im glad i did! Haven't looked back since. If i could recommend anything with hair it would be this! Its worth the money and leaves your hair feeling amazing, doesn't leave your hair smelling burnt at all. Honestly can not rave about this straightener enough!!

I spent ages reading different reviews between the GHD and Cloud 9 straighteners. Eventually I decided on this one and I don’t regret it one little bit!

These have a variable heat setting so are suitable for any hair and any style. They only take about 20-30 seconds to reach temperature, and hold the heat beautifully.

The plates are super smooth with curved edges so move through the hair without any snagging, and are perfect for both straightening and curling. I can make tight ringlets or loose waves easily and even though I have a huge amount of hair, it works super fast without any horrible burning or over heating.

The long cord is brilliant for being able to move around while using them, and the swivel base means the cord doesn’t get tangled or twisted.

These are definitely a worthwhile investment

Four months ago I was spoilt for my birthday and my husband brought me a pair of cloud 9's. I had been using the same pair of Ghd's for the past 8 years and I always thought they were amazing up until i got my coloud 9's and boy had I been missing out. These cloud 9's are amazing!! They glide through my hair without pulling at all. And I can straighten my whole head of hair within a max of 5 minutes. The next day if i feel my hair needs a little touch up I only need to straighten it on the middle setting and touch up the ends.

Over all the most amazing straightener ever!!

Best hair straightener hands down! I used to use GHD and swear by them until I tried Cloud 9. I have messy thick hair and this controls my hair in less time and at a lower temp setting. I have had mine for over 5 years now and still running as it did the first time I got it.

When my ghd gave up the ghost I debated whether to get another one or get this cloud 9. Well I'm glad I made the right choice and converted to a cloud 9! I love this straightener, it heaps up quickly and the best thing is you can adjust the temperature! As someone which bleached/damaged hair I try to avoid to much heat so the fact the cloud 9 has this feature is definitely a saving grace!
