Where Do You Most Use Concealer?

Ahhh the concealer.  A small but powerful product in your makeup bag - one not to be underestimated!

They can make you look wide awake when you've had a far-less-than-perfect night's sleep.  They can hide the Mount Zitsuvius that erupts on your chin every month.  It really is worth finding the perfect concealer for you - once you've found the right one, you'll never look back!

Over or Under?

There's a few schools of thought surrounding the application of concealer and whether it should go over or under foundation.  We reckon it depends on what you're concealing.

Less is more when creating a great makeup base, so you want as few layers as possible.  When covering dark circles, always use concealer (and a corrector if necessary) before foundation.  Dab the product along the affected area and blend well.  You might find when it's time to apply foundation that you actually don't need to apply it on top of the concealer, but that you can blend where the two meet.  Have a play and find out what works best for you.

For blemishes, pimples and flaws you'll want to apply concealer on top of your foundation and blend outwards with a brush.  For this type of concealment you'll want your concealer to match your foundation shade.  Finish with powder.

I certainly use my concealer around my under eye area, and I also use it (very sparingly) around the outline of my lips both upper and lower. It was a tip given to me by a makeup artist who told me that it stops your lipstick leaking off your lips and it certainly does that. You just dot it around the lip edge and then gently press it in. I keep a spare concealer in my car and often give it an outing while waiting at the traffic lights!

I actually need to find a concealer because I don't currently have a fullsized concealer that matches my skintone. Need to buy one. I have an undereye brightener brush on pen sort of thing then I apply foundation on top but I would like something with more coverage to my under eye area that matches my foundation so it can be used for the breakouts I get. I've heard that if a concealer is good under your eyes it probably isn't one that would suit your breakouts still looking for a concealer that would suit both.

I use a concealer for any blemishes and slightly red cheeks, I find it helps to cover them up

One day the perfect concealer will exist to cover my permanent dark purple under eye circles and help conceal the scarring on my lips from a car accident. I have come close but being so pale with such dark circles makes it nigh on impossible to match and blend. :( I don't wear foundation just concealer as foundation just makes my lip scars appear worse as it settles in. I have cool hair though so thankful for small wins in life!! Haha

I use concealer mostly under my eyes to cover up the dark circles that managing three kids while working full time gives me. I've been on such a journey to find just the right one - and expensive doesn't necessarily mean that it works!

I use concealer mostly under my eyes, as I get older the circles get darker. I also use it when I have a break out, or as a contour.

I don't use a concealer at present, but have used in the past mainly under my eyes and to help cover burn scarring I have around my chin area. I actually should be using a concealer but it's not something I would normally buy! Would love to give this a go though :)

I'm on the search for a good, easy-to-apply concealer that will work to cover undereye circles even on foundation-free days. I wonder if this could be what I'm looking for? The range of shades sounds fantastic!

I haven't used a concealer in years!! I have slight redness on my cheeks and the odd blemish so would love to give this a try and see if it would actually hide those things.

I use concealer every day - sometimes that's all I use with a bit of mascara. I use age rewind also like my daughter and love it so would love to try this out ok a huge loreal fan.

Would love to trial this as I am looking for a concealer that will cover my under eye dark patches and also blemishes and pigmentation without looking too caked on and unnatural.

Mostly under my eyes to brighten up the area and then if I need it anywhere else then I'll put some elsewhere too. Always on the lookout for a new concealer that doesn't crease as soon as it's applied to my under eyes..

I use concealer daily, mainly on blemishes but a little on my under eye area. I’ve never found a concealer that is love - perfect coverage, doesn’t get all lined after awhile and blends well with my foundation. Keen to try L’oréal’s new offering - maybe it’s a keeper!

A good concealer makes such a difference! I find if I conceal under my eyes, side of the nose and a couple of red marks on my cheek then I don't really need foundation.

I'm always looking for a good concealer that doesn't cake into fine lines and stays put without smearing, I'd love to give this one a go! I really like L'Oreal base products, so I have high hopes that I'll like this concealer.

5th July, 2019

I use a concealer every day mainly to disguise and hide my undereye dark circles and slight bags that have appeared as I am hitting 50 in a few months this year but I also use a concealer to cover the odd blemish and dark age spots. My struggle with concealers is finding the right one that doesn't accentuate fine lines and sink into cracks, not that I have many haha but also finding one that is not too thick and easy to blend is a mission too so if this one ticks all those boxes then i'm sold!
