Whether you want to hydrate, soothe or balance your skin, this list is going to tell you the face masks you need to try.  And it's not based on brands, editors or even the Beauty Crew's opinions.  As if!  We present New Zealand's Top Ten Face Masks as rated by shoppers that have bought them and used them - that's you!

Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask.  Rated: 4.9/5

They Say:  Energise, purify and deeply cleanse with rosehip, kaolin and pohutukawa.

You Say:  The result glowing, revived, refreshed looking skin I still cannot believe how good my skin looks and feels after using this. I almost want to use it every day just because my skin looks that good afterwards I will buy this again.   Beauty Reviewer: -Bex-

Lush Mask of Magnaminty.  Rated: 4.7/5

They Say:  China clay and bentonite gel will pull the dirt from your pores, ground aduki beans and evening primrose seeds exfoliate surface skin cells, and peppermint oil will make you feel so fresh and minty.

You Say:  My skin always feels firmer and smoother after using this mask, and it definitely does soothe any problem areas - although it's not a miracle cure! I'd say I use this regularly as prevention for breakouts rather than waiting for them to strike, but I still love this and will definitely repurchase.  Beauty Reviewer: Geo

L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Charcoal Mask.  Rated: 4.6/5

They Say:  A unique combination of 3 pure clays with the magnetic properties of Charcoal to detoxify and brighten the skin.

You Say: One of my favourite masks, its available in a lot of places and it has a great price point.  I like being able to see the oils and imperfections that have been drawn out once my mask has dried.  After removal my skin feels amazing, and looks brighter. Love it!  Beauty Reviewer: Astariuss

Trilogy Very Gentle Hydra-Mask.  Rated: 4.6/5

They Say:  Treat stressed-out skin with a serious hydration boost. This luxurious mask contains maqui berry oil and nourishing sweet almond to protect, hydrate, and calm reactive skin.

You Say: It is certified natural, fragrance free, non GMO, no animal testing, dermatologically tested. I love using it at the end of each week (and in between! Pop it on while in the bath-bliss!) it feels so calming and soothing.  Beauty Reviewer: JennyWren

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay.  Rated: 4.5/5

They Say:  Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask have been used for centuries to beautify and refresh when used as a facial mask.

You Say: I use this mask once a week and it really clears my skin out leaving my skin refreshed and bright with visibly decreased pores.  It feels really really tight on the skin and you can not talk with this mask on as it will crack and it pretty much feels like a straight jacket for your skin haha.  Beauty Reviewer: Katee-xo

Queene Helene Mud Pack Masque.  Rated: 4.4/5

They Say:  It's not only an effective pore cleanser, but also helps tighten loose, sagging skin on your face and neck and relaxes tired facial muscles to soften lines and wrinkles.

You Say:   This is great value for money as the tube is pretty large. The mask consistency is thick and creamy and applies well to the skin. I have very sensitive skin and find this mask works wonders on me. It never stings my skin which is great and leaves my skin feeling so fresh and clean. The mask gives my skin a lovely glow and it does help improve the texture and tone of my skin. This mask promotes anti-aging properties - it did noticeably tighten my skin making my skin feel and look more youthful.  Beauty Reviewer: Janaya

Skinfood Mud Masque.  Rated: 4.4/5

They Say:  Made with nutrient rich Rotorua mud, which is known around the world for its healing and rejuvenating properties. Combined with spirulina, Vitamin E and apricot oil.

You Say:   I got this product on a whim ages ago because it was on sale. Firstly, I love the fact that it smells like chocolate orange, even though the main ingredient is mud. Secondly, it works great for my sensitive skin and can be removed easily. I like that you can see it soaking up the oils once it has dried.  Beauty Reviewer:  TabbyWa

Evolu Rehydration Rescue Masque.  Rated: 4.4/5

They Say:  This luxurious facial masque will rescue your skin from the visible effects of long-term dryness and nutrient depletion.

You Say: It has made my skin feel so soft and dare I say, youthful. While I have the masque on, I can’t stop touching my skin as it feels amazing. It feels much more hydrated than it usually does, and actually the best it has felt in a long while. I look forward to further continual use to see the results over a longer period.  Beauty Reviewer:  casabella

Oasis Fruit Smoothie.  Rated: 4.3/5

They Say:   It's a powerful but gentle multipurpose product for glowing skin in no time at all.

You Say:  This is one of my favorite masks especially during summer! Although my skin is dry this exfoliating scrub leaves my skin feeling and looking smooth and bright and I love that I'm not putting any harsh chemicals on my face. I definitely recommend this product.  Beauty Reviewer: suezy2001

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Revitalising Mask.  Rated: 4.3/5

They Say:  An at-home, spa-inspired treatment that awakens and softens skin. The mask works to exfoliate, retexturise and smooth skin.

You Say:  I love this mask, it's one of my all time favourites and leaves my skin feeling tight and firm as well as smooth and soft. It's also heaps of fun peeling it off! The following day after I use it my foundation always applies flawlessly, it always looks amazing. I ran out of this just recently and my skin has suffered for it, so definitely time to buy some more. It is definitely worth it's price tag as well! Beauty Reviewer: Salem29

I have two favourite masks, and they've been the same ones for a while now. L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Charcoal Mask and also the Manuka Doctor Api Clear peel off mask, they are both so great! I have always wanted to try the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay after always seeing such great reviews.

I've used the skinfood mud masque and my skin felt good although you don't want to me anybody with this on. My favourite one is the trilogy very gentle, the name says it all and is perfect for my sensitive skin. It feels so good.

17th January, 2018

I'm currently using skinfood and love it as it's affordable, works well with sensitive skin and draws out impurities. I've also used a couple of lush face masks and they seem to be ok. Would like to try Loreal next.

I love face masks so much - they're an essential part of my routine. IThere's some goodies here to try - I like that they're all different price points too, there's a couple well within my budget!

17th January, 2018

yep totally agree i love my evolu overnight mask its so so hydrating. Also love the fruit smoothie but never tried it as a mask just a exfoliant so guess what im doing tonight :)

17th January, 2018

I have not tried any of these! I got a sample of a lush mask at one point but it went in the fridge then I forgot about it so it probably is not good to use now :(

Great article. I love masks and currently use the L’Oreal Red Clay, it’s fabulous and leaves my skin looking brighter and feeling softer and smoother. I’ve always really wanted to try the Indian Healing Mask but can’t source it in NZ. Does anyone know where to get it from apart from overseas?

17th January, 2018

I have only seen the skinfoods and love it might have to give some of these other ones a go they sound pretty good

17th January, 2018

I actually don't think I have ever used a masque?!? I know right! I really need to read some reviews on here and get one!!

16th January, 2018

I've tried them all except for the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. The Skinfood Mud Mask is one of the best for those on a budget that have oily skin. I really love using the Evolu as an overnight mask. The Trilogy Mineral Radiance and Oasis one are also faves. Elizabeth Arden I was really impressed with it when I had it years ago but since then I have discovered more affordable alternatives for chemical exfoliation.

16th January, 2018

I absolutely love the Trilogy very-gentle and the Skinfood mud mask!! I think next on my list to try would be the Evolu mask :)

16th January, 2018

I love Face Masks. I’d love to try these out . Great reviews too .

15th January, 2018

Some good masks up there, have probably used half of them and still getting my way through the Trilogy Sensitive Mask, that is gorgeous but I don't use it as much as my skin needs oops (makes mental note to pamper said skin this weekend).

15th January, 2018

I have used the Skinfood one before and it is a goodie. The Evolu one and Oasis Smoothie are next on my list. I love a homemade mask, straight honey, or milk powder mixed with rose water or chickpea flour mixed with some turmeric and milk .And i love a good sheet mask. They are super hydrating. Especially at this time of year with all the sun and salt around.

I love both the Skin food mud masque and the Evolu masque's -I have sensitive skin and both these make my skin really nice.

Ooh that's good to know! I have sensitive skin and really like the Skin food mud masque too. I'm very curious about the Ecolu masque

The Evolu Mask is really nice I use it as sleeping mask. It's super light on the skin and absorbs pretty quickly and it's gentle too.

The Evolu mask is really gentle and lovely on your skin and as Tanny girl said it is lovely left on as a sleeping mask.

I'm the same! I have the sensitive mask at home just waiting to be used. I do love it though so I really should be using it more.

The Evolu Mask is really nice you can use it as a wash off mask but I use it as sleeping mask. It's super light on the skin and absorbs pretty quickly and it's gentle too. I like to use it in place of a night cream since it's gives that hydrated but

dry to touch feel that leaves your skin moisturized. It's pricey but I like using for those late nights when I want to put my skincare and hit the sack instead of waiting for stuff to absorb.
