The Nail Trend You'll Go Nuts For in 2019!

Finally! A nail trend that's something we can all get on board with! No need to glue random objects on our tips or spend hours crafting aquariums under bubbles. This is simple and oh so sophisticated. We'd go so far as to say it has the potential to become as popular a nail shape as the traditional square or oval looks.

So what's this look we're nutty for? Almond nails.

androniki_bafaki

Sure, almond nails have been around for yonks, but they're having a renaissance and are tipped as the must-have nail trend of 2019 and we can totally see why.

What's not to love about the almond nail? It's approachable like a round nail, chic like a squoval (that's a mix of square and oval, in case you thought my typing was having a meltdown...), nowhere near as scary as the stabby stiletto nail, and yet it's still a little edgy.

Want to get the look? If your nails are on the shorter side a trip to a nail technician could well be in order for a set of acrylics or gels. If you've long nails you could potentially create the look at home (something we're not brave enough to do) and this fantstic tutorial from abetweene can show you how...

So will you be taking on the nail trend of 2019? Or is it all a bit too nutty for you?

I absolutely love this look and always do it when I have long enough nails. Lol I love they look like claws

I've started going for a more rounded nail look but mine would need to be a little longer yet to get all my nails to the almond shape … Love the look though - tend to see it more on enhanced nails than natural nails

It's a no from me. I think they look much too fake and very impractical! How do you even wash dishes with those?

Sadly I’ve never coped with long nails. I do admire some of Khloe kardashians nails she’s had - they have been almond shaped and always looked great on her.

I have long enough nails but I've always preferred a rounded nail.

I like the shape it looks elegant. Not for me though, I like short nails.

Yeah, naaaaaaa. I scratch myself and others as it is without having ‘almond shaped’ weapons literally as finger tips lol. Love the blue shade of nail polish though.

You're right, MissDilly. The almond shape weakens the structure of natural nails, making them more likely to break, which is why this shape is usually only done with acrylic, PolyGel or Hard Gel enhancements.

Silvene you're right - mine would break if they got a sniff of me attempting this shape! They look great on IG - but not many if any natural nails

Same here. I like the look but for someone who cooks, cleans and washes dishes it's just not a practical shape to maintain.
