Eyeshadow palettes are my Achilles Heel. I love them. Can't get enough of them. I need to have all the colours. All the textures. Every time a new palette enters my life I find myself hoping it will be different, more interesting, better than the last. I can't lie. There have been a fair few fails, but there's been some delightful discoveries along the way. So who can be blamed/thanked for this addiction of mine? You guys! It was the reviews on Beauty Review and the chat on the forum that saw me lured into the palette life. So what are the Top Rated* eyeshadow palettes as voted by you? Check these beauties out!

In a list dominated by Urban Decay and Chi Chi, we were well surprised to discover the Top Rated eyeshadow palette was a brand that didn't sneak into the Top 10 so much as bolt to the front. Come on down and take your crown...

Great article thanks

Like I needed an excuse to buy another Neutral palette ;-)

1st August, 2018

I love both Too Faced and Urban Decay palettes - the formulas are just so darn silky smooth. I've also continuously heard great things about the Top Rated Stila palette. But on a tight budget I certainly will give the Sleek iDivine shadows a go.

25th July, 2018

I’ve got urban Decay naked 2 & 3 of this list, I like them both a lot, thinking about getting the original naked one, but naked heat was such a let down, all the colours looked the same on the eyes and somehow it always made me look like a terminally ill person, the colours looked absolutely horrible on me and I don’t have a very strange skin colour or undertone at all!?

24th July, 2018

Loving the colours in the lorac pro, fingers crossed there are some palettes in the vault!

24th July, 2018

I have only one of those palletes... In fact one pallete full stop... My colours are all individuals. So yes, yes my wish list has grown... Thanks

20th July, 2018

Wow I'm quite surprised by the stila in the light palette taking first place! I have another stila palette but it's nothing incredible, maybe this one is different formulation.

18th July, 2018

I was given the naked basics for my birthday a year or so ago and i love it for traveling! it's amazing! i want so many of the ones on this list. I have a chichi palette and its my most used

18th July, 2018

I have zero talent with eyeshadow, so sadly palettes are wasted on me! :-(

17th July, 2018

I have not tried any of them I have all these pigments and shimmers to use as I love shimmer but I need some good bases and mattes to wear with them

17th July, 2018

My go to palette in my collection is the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour Palette. Just because it's a fantastic companion palette of matte neutrals that I can use for everything and the formula is long wearing. I like to do a fairly neutral eye look with mostly matte shadows, some shimmer on the lid and a good metallic or super shimmery inner corner highlight and then often a drop liner. The KVD Shade and Light is great if you have pops of color or shimmer in other palettes. Another recently but well-loved palette is the ABH Modern Rennaisance the formula is pigmented and blends beautifully and it's long wearing. And the shades in the palette go cohesively with each other. I haven't really been into the Naked Palettes but I want the Naked Heat Palette because of the beautiful shades of red brown and it's apparently the best quality formula of all the Naked palettes and has the most mattes which is important to me.

17th July, 2018

Definitely like the look of them and many other brighter ones that didn't make the list.

17th July, 2018

I have been thinking of buying a morphe eyeshadow pallete, the tutorials look so good but I just don't have the skills at applying eyeshadow.

17th July, 2018

They all look lovely but I prefer individual colours as i would not use all the colours in a palette.

17th July, 2018

I haven't tried any of these palettes but am particularly interested in that sleek palette. I love the look of the colours. I have 3 pallettes to use at so I'm not looking at getting another one until one is finished or expires..

Kuddos to you. A no buy with palettes is particularly tough.

I just hate wasting product. I like to get my "money's worth" but rarely do with eyeshadows in general. If I don't buy it I can't waste it right?

BeautyGirl

Teach me your ways girl! not buying palettes is hard

BeautyGirl

I have seen the naked heat in real life and WOW

tannygirl
19th July, 2018

I know a lot of people have said the the middle shades look so similar but those are the ones that I'm drawn to those red browns.

tannygirl
18th July, 2018

I would recommend getting the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour palette it's a great companion palette if you have a large collection of shimmers and bright shades but need some neutral mattes to ground them and pull the bright shades off.

tannygirl
18th July, 2018

Another thing I really love about that palette is that the pans with the base color shades that you'll hit pan on first is twice as big as the other darker shades you contour and deepen up your outer v with. And the formula is long wearing and I have

tannygirl

oily monolids so eyeshadow creases easily on me but I don't get much if any creasing with this palette. It was a good solid buy for me.

25th July, 2018

Thank you Tannygirl I have been finding my shimmers creasing alot and initially are bright then they seem to fade out :( I am experimenting with using a consealer and primers on the eyes

I think a solution would be to get a palette that has super cohesive shades where any combination will create a beautiful look. Also one where the eyeshadow formula blends really well.
