The Easiest Way for Blondes to Have More Fun!

I love pastel hair.  Love it.  On a near daily basis I see pastel shades when browsing Instagram or Pinterest, screenshot them and send them to my hairdresser, telling her I *need* to have baby blue hair.  I want to rock granny-grey-chic.  The mermaid in me needs to try green.  The My Little Pony in me wants lilac locks.  I could totally pull of soft

And yet, I never go through with it.  Why?  Maintenance mostly.  See, I love experimenting with my hair, but I loathe the upkeep.  I also like to change my mind.  A lot.  And often.  I don't want to wait for things to grow out and fade.

As often happens at BRHQ, a product landed on my desk and my mind was blown.  The Schwarzkopf Live Colour Pastel Spray.  Lasting three washes this easy to use spray is perfect for those of us that want to experiment with pastels and inject a little fun into our lives, without commiting to that loathesome word. Maintenance.

The instructions are simple.  Spray on to towel-dried hair, blot of the excess with a paper towel and style.  The colour will last up to three washes and will not damage your hair.

Other ways of acheiving the pastel look include mixing a fashion colour with conditioner, applying it and leaving it on for around 5 minutes, or until you get the depth of pastel desired.  Or of course - heading to the salon and getting a pro to do the job for you.

No matter how you choose to go pastel, one thing is for sure, you'll need blonde hair (natural or prelightened).  This one's kinda non-negotiable.

Ok, so now we know how to get the pastel look - what kind of fun looks can a blonde gal create?  Here's some of my favourites ways to add a pastel flair to your hair!

Are you a fan of pastel hair?  Do you have pastel hair?  If you do, how do you rock it and what tips do you have to share?  If you don't have it - have we convinced you to give it a go?  What are your favourite pastel looks?

These are awesome! Pastel streaks would look that best!

I am a fan. I like the streaks best because that's what I'm looking at doing with my own hair. But they're all awesome.

Maintenance the dreaded word for all that dye their hair. I see a lot of potential in this.

The dye in my hair now is the Schwarzkopf pastels but its so damn bright still lol. And its not that much maintenance either I dont reckon :-P

It looks so pretty in your pic! :)

My fav is going pastel all over and my least is pastel at the roots. The streaks would be fun and anyway not permanent so just have fun and try what you like best.

Love 1,2 & 6.. The others not so much..

These are such gorgeous locks! If my hair was lighter I would totally go for a pastel teal or pink, so pretty. As it is I'm way too scared of bleaching my hair.

I love pastel hair. The maintenance is the problem for me. I like all these looks here.

I like all of these looks except the starting pastel at the roots. Not so sure about that one. My favourite is the pastel mixed with grey, I think that is just gorgeous!I would be very keen to try going pastel, especially given how temporary it is. I'm going to dye my hair blonde in a couple of weeks, so once I'm light blonde these would be really really fun.

Love the subtle pastels. I have black hair and am looking to do a variation of pastel with silvery ends.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the top picture and the blue and pink streaks! Think that might be the nect look i go for when i get round to visiting hairdresser

I like the free and easy streaks...also the pastel blended with gray. I'm definitely inspired.

I like first look. She is looking fabulous in light pink hair.

I love the look on someone else. Just because I'm not blond. But if there was like temporary fun purple hair that I could do and wash out in a couple washes without having to bleach my hair of course I'd try it.
