Merilyn Ditched the Salon and Tried At-Home Hair Care!

When a bad hair day strikes royalty...

I was lucky enough to get scheduled in for a couple of hours of pampering with the Schwarzkopf Styling team for their launch of the Schwarzkopf Fibre Therapy range; and given I don’t generally wake up looking this good (KIDDING!) I was all up for it!

Queenie and Priscilla - one of the fabulous Schwarzkopf NZ team

Schwarzkopf really know where the the key to my heart is (I was wondering where it went...), the few hours I spent as their guest were a combination of all sorts of cool things.  You see, if I was as rich as a really, really rich person, I’ve decided that this is how I would spend a good part of my day…doing it Schwarzkopf style.

It started off by us being picked up in a sleek black 4x4 by a charming young man and I think it even had tinted windows which made me feel quite famous, but was probably to protect the public from the state of my ‘before’ hair. We were whisked to a secret location where a ‘secret salon’ had been set up and our stylists were waiting.

Merilyn and  the lady that made her hair look THIS  fabulous - Krishla

The lovely Krishla got the rather challenging job of transforming me but rise to the challenge she did.  Now, while I’m on the subject, what IS IT about that head massage that all hairdressers seem to master...you know, the one that has your eyes rolling back in your head in ecstasy? I’ve tried to do it myself at home but it just doesn’t work…

Anyhow, how about I talk about this new range that promises salon hair repair at home?  In my line of work sometime I’m lucky enough to get the jump on some of the new launches coming so I'l confess I’d already been slipped advanced samples of this range and I’ve been using it for a while and really, really love it. Like honestly/truthfully love it - not just saying it because I'm writing this and I love the Schwarzkopf girls, but genuinely love it!  The three products really make this range a standout! And yes (thanks for asking) I will be buying it again when it runs out with my own money!

Essentially how the Fibre Therapy range works is that it repairs broken bonds within the hair fibres which smoothes out your hair (making it look really fancy pants) and protects it against further damage.  There are 3 products in the range, a shampoo, conditioner and a spray on treatment. Now I've only used all 3 together so I can't comment on if you can get away with just using one of them, but hey if after you read this and are admiring my glossy hair and feel you want said glossy hair, then the good news is these products are so reasonably priced, there’s really no excuse for not grabbing all 3 anyway.  (The shampoo and conditioner are around $6.39 each and the treatment spray is $11.99)

So after we’ve had the Fibre Therapy wash, the condition, the treatment and the head massage Krishla whips out this bright yellow bottle and asks me ’have you seen this’?  Now I'd heard about ‘this’ but I’d never seen it in the flesh (‘this’ has not been launched yet), and what this 'this' is, is  the Schwarzkopf EXPRESS DRY Blow Dry Spray, and it’s designed to reduce the time it takes to blow dry your hair.

Now this could have been designed specifically with me in mind! I have fine hair, but a lot of it. And it takes FOREVER to dry!  Like seriously, if I was going out on Friday, I'd need to wash my hair and start drying it on Monday just to make sure I was ready.  Krishla wove magic with this bottle of gold.  She lightly misted it over my towel dried hair and then got to work with the blow drier. And did it reduce the time it took for my hair to dry? Giddy Aunt  YES it did.  By how much?  A lot.  It’s a YES from me and I've already added to my repertoire as well.

So all in all, a big thanks to the Schwarzkopf girls for a great two hours of pampering and I think you’re onto a big winner with the Fibre Therapy Range and the bottled gold Express Dry, i'll certainly be buying both of them again.

Love seeing what products you used from start to finish. Gives me an idea of what I need to buy to care for my hair.

I too am loving the fibre therapy range, and ooooh the Express Dry looks like the product for me! I seldom blow dry my hair because of how long it takes, even with a super power blow dryer! I'll keep my eyes out for that product. Thanks

Ahhh yes tell me about the head massage! I remember a certain salon becoming my go to because they included a good hairwash and head massage with every cut as part of the price, which was reasonable, that and they had a guy that could actually cut hair thin that wasn't pin straight properly. I remember being so sad when he moved to another salon that charged more for hair cuts. That blow dry spray sounds interesting.

That express dry spray looks and sounds GOOD! How on earth does it work though? Magic?

28th April, 2017

I think I'm sticking to the salon

This sounds really good -Bring it on !!!

The Express Dry sounds amazing! In summer I let my hair dry naturally, but with winter approaching I'll be pulling out the hairdryer. The Express Dry would be so so good as I'm usually too lazy because it takes me too long!
