You know it's hot when you're sitting on the couch watching beauty YouTube and you feel a dribble of sweat trickle down the inside of your knee. No, not from the knee pit, but from the smooth, silky, satiny area that is the inner knee; an area that I feel really ought not to be a sweaty spot. You also know it's hot when you find yourself opening the fridge door just for the joy of experiencing a hit of coolness.
Yes, it's fair to say this summer has been a scorcher, and I've been thinking of all sorts of ways to get as many frosty moments of goodness into my life as possible - which has seen me become a fan of putting beauty products in my fridge. Products that not only deliver an extra beauty boost when chilled, but also feel darn delicious when applied to the skin.
So what are five products you can put in your fridge to see you through the summer sweats?
Facial Sprays
Skin feeling hot, sweaty and grimy? A facial spray or toner straight from the fridge is a great way to refresh the skin while giving it a beauty boost. Keeping facial sprays in the fridge will also help with the longevity of the product. Bonus!
Eye cream
Summer socialising, long nights, not to mention sweaty sleeps filled with tossing and turning can leave your eyes looking like mushroomy puffballs. By keeping your eye cream in the fridge, you'll not only help hydrate the area, but the cooling sensation will also work to give the appearance of less puffiness by constricting the blood vessels.
Sheet masks.
Planning on pampering yourself? The day before you want to apply a sheet mask, pop it in the fridge and give your skin t he added treat of a cooling and hydrating experience. While the mask's ingredients will work to nourish, tighten, tone and/or brighten, the chilled nature of the mask will reduce the look of any swelling.
Massage tools.
I've read that if you've a quartz roller you don't need to put it in the fridge, because it's already cool. The thing is, as far as I'm concerned, in summer 'cool' doesn't alway cut it - I want my tools to be as chilled out as an iceblock. So popping a massage tool (of any kind, even the cheap plastic double headers) in the fridge is a great way to create a reviving and invigorating experience.
Perfume
For perfume to live its best life it needs to be kept away from sunlight and to enjoy a fluctuation-free temperature, which makes your fridge the perfect place to store it all year round. Even better? In summer you'll get to enjoy one cool second of refreshing spritziness before going about your day.
So, do tell, what are your favourite beauty products to pop in the fridge? And how are you beating this summer's heat? Sharing is caring, so get chatting below!
Never thought of this such good ideas , thanks Gabrielle
