Does your hair desperately need REPAIR?

We all know that styling, colouring and environmental factors can damage our hair - but do you know the signs that your hair is in desperate need of repair?  Here are a few warning signs to look out for.

Quick Dry - If your coloured hair dries almost instantly after showering it's a sign that your hair has been made very porous by the chemicals in the hair colour.  It's a vicious cycle too, as porous hair will absorb too much pigment into the hair, giving you a too-dark result.  You also may find that your hair colour fades faster, as the porousness of the hair releases too much of the color as you shampoo.

Water Test - When you next find a stray hair, run your finger nail down the shaft to curl it (like curling ribbon with scissors).  If when you drop the curled strand in a glass of water, it doesn't uncurl it means your hair has lost it's elasticity.  Heat styling is normally the cause - it can cause the cuticle to lift up to lift up, releasing valuable moisture and leaving shafts brittle.

Split Ends - The occasional split end is normal - but when the ends of your hair look like uneven straw it's a sign you are continually damaging your hair.  When split ends aren't trimmed regularly the hair is more likely to split further, 'spreading' the damage up the shaft of the hair.  Do not be tempted to trim the ends at home - dull scissors will again, split the hair more!

Dull, dull, dull - If your hair refuses to shine, even with the help of serum or intensive treatment - it's more than likely damaged!

If you're showing the signs of damaged hair, you need to begin a routine for repairing it.  You probably know of salon treatments using advances in technology to repair your locks, but in a few weeks time, you'll be able get this technology at home!  We've got our hands on the new Schwarzkopf range before it's nationwide release on March 20th!  EEEP!

‘Plex’ is a revolution that is changing the hairdressing industry an innovative hair repair treatment which protects the hair from damage during the colour process by rebonding broken hair fibres.  This technology is now available with Schwarzkopf Extra Care Fibre Therapy  hair care range with OMEGAPLEX® which helps to repair your hair, strand by strand.

Fibre Therapy promises:

  • to help rebond and seal broken hair structures for silky, smooth hair
  • to protect the hair from damage and encourage the creation of new bonds

The FIFTY members of this trial team will be putting the Fibre Therapy Shampoo, Conditioner and Repair-in-Oil Spray Treatment to the test.  Now all three look a-maz-ing, but the Repair-In-Oil spray?  Colour us excited!

This innovative treatment spray is formulated with two phases to provide double-effect results - it's a beautifying oil for shine and supple hair, AND with Schwarzkopf's OMEGAPLEX® ingredient it will also reconstruct your hair!  Told ya - it's a goodie!

So - tell us - is your hair showing signs of damage?  Is it caused by colouring, styling or something else?  Have you been putting off colouring your hair to prevent further damage?  Would you like to trial the Schwarzkopf Fibre Therapy range?

I would love to be in this trial! I have been box dying and using a straightening iron on my hair since I was about 15. I had to let to grow out for over 12 months and then I finally caved and paid a hairdresser to cut out all the damaged hair. Its been over 2 years since I last dyed my hair and it still hasn't recovered, I still have problems with breakages and it looks dull!. I would like to re dye my hair as I don't really like my natural colour (its quite dull) but I'm afraid that if I do it will be permanently damaged. I would love to try this product to see if I can get some life back into my hair!

Oh My Gosh! Yes please...I am brand new to longer hair (2 years growing sees me with a nice one length bob sitting just below my cheek line) but am desperate now for help, I have at times dry, lustless & blah hair and at times seem to pile product upon product before and after straightening. I also probably need to upgrade to a better straightener along with products. This trial would be a ideal first step for me, summer has been harsh but determined to not give in and go pixie short again :)

I really want to be on this trial, my hair is in a really bad shape. It's dry frizzy and colour fades out really quickly. I color my hair at home so that might be one of the reasons as to why it fades out real quick. All the straightening for so many years hasn't helped either. I think my hair is in the perfect condition to trial this and see what the true results are like.

I used have nice hair. But recently I used too much heat styling products so my hair get dry and split ends. Definitely my hair need some repair.

Ohhhhh such pretty packaging! Le sigh my hair is not in top condition. I colour it at home. Have split ends...I use a hairdryer and straightener. Eeeek! Sounds like a great trial :-)

Uh Oh, I knew my hair was in a bad way, but after doing this water test - confirmed. Home hair dyed - yup, heated - occasionally, using blunt scissors to trim my hair - ashamedly guilty *hangs head in shame* Cant blame my hair for refusing to shine when I'm so mean to it.

probably need to go looking for a shorter hairstyle that both me and my man can live with, *but I like it long - sob*

My hair is thick and dry. What a cool opportunity. I'd love to be on this trial. If not I will definately buy it when it's in stores :0

Oh my hair! I definitely suffer from split ends and the unfortunate dullness factor. And in terms of dullness I've tried some quick-fixes with no success. I would love to be on this trial to see whether this hair care routine is for me.

I would absolutly love to trial this range. My hair is very dull and I need to try and repair it. These products sound amazing and I would love to see if they work

I would love to trial this range - hair care is an "unknown" for me and to watch the colour flow down the drain, possibly due to an abrasive shampoo, is disheartening. Hair is most important, it's sheen and overall health really matters.

This is one area I would appreciate help -I colour my hair but also spend considerable time outside so my hair gets very porous.

I get my hair Salon colour treated every 3mths. I have had the Orloplex treatment twice and did notice a difference in the performance of my hair when it was used. However, it is an added cost that makes an already expensive Salon visit way more expensive and hope the husband doesn't see the added cost when the credit card bill comes through!

I'd love the opportunity to see the results and compare it to Orloplex. My hair ends are the bits that are drying out as they are the ones that have been on the head the longest and treated the most each time. Whenever I use a straightener (not often nowadays as don't want to stress my hair much more) my hair does feel very dry.

I'd love the shine to continue in my hair for the term of the colour and would love this to help me out!

Definitely failed the elasticity test too lol.

I do try and take care of my hair. It's not as robust as it used to be. Premature greying leading to colouring over the years has certainly left it's mark. And ageing hair doesn't help either. I'm certainly interested in trying this range. Not sure of I've made the cut on trial eligibility yet though.

This is one trial I would love to be on! My hair is in such a bad way. I have split ends and quick fade problems. I dye my hair at home and notice it fades super quick. Aside from a much needed hairdressers appointment this could be really good! :)
