Does your hair desperately need REPAIR?

We all know that styling, colouring and environmental factors can damage our hair - but do you know the signs that your hair is in desperate need of repair?  Here are a few warning signs to look out for.

Quick Dry - If your coloured hair dries almost instantly after showering it's a sign that your hair has been made very porous by the chemicals in the hair colour.  It's a vicious cycle too, as porous hair will absorb too much pigment into the hair, giving you a too-dark result.  You also may find that your hair colour fades faster, as the porousness of the hair releases too much of the color as you shampoo.

Water Test - When you next find a stray hair, run your finger nail down the shaft to curl it (like curling ribbon with scissors).  If when you drop the curled strand in a glass of water, it doesn't uncurl it means your hair has lost it's elasticity.  Heat styling is normally the cause - it can cause the cuticle to lift up to lift up, releasing valuable moisture and leaving shafts brittle.

Split Ends - The occasional split end is normal - but when the ends of your hair look like uneven straw it's a sign you are continually damaging your hair.  When split ends aren't trimmed regularly the hair is more likely to split further, 'spreading' the damage up the shaft of the hair.  Do not be tempted to trim the ends at home - dull scissors will again, split the hair more!

Dull, dull, dull - If your hair refuses to shine, even with the help of serum or intensive treatment - it's more than likely damaged!

If you're showing the signs of damaged hair, you need to begin a routine for repairing it.  You probably know of salon treatments using advances in technology to repair your locks, but in a few weeks time, you'll be able get this technology at home!  We've got our hands on the new Schwarzkopf range before it's nationwide release on March 20th!  EEEP!

‘Plex’ is a revolution that is changing the hairdressing industry an innovative hair repair treatment which protects the hair from damage during the colour process by rebonding broken hair fibres.  This technology is now available with Schwarzkopf Extra Care Fibre Therapy  hair care range with OMEGAPLEX® which helps to repair your hair, strand by strand.

Fibre Therapy promises:

  • to help rebond and seal broken hair structures for silky, smooth hair
  • to protect the hair from damage and encourage the creation of new bonds

The FIFTY members of this trial team will be putting the Fibre Therapy Shampoo, Conditioner and Repair-in-Oil Spray Treatment to the test.  Now all three look a-maz-ing, but the Repair-In-Oil spray?  Colour us excited!

This innovative treatment spray is formulated with two phases to provide double-effect results - it's a beautifying oil for shine and supple hair, AND with Schwarzkopf's OMEGAPLEX® ingredient it will also reconstruct your hair!  Told ya - it's a goodie!

So - tell us - is your hair showing signs of damage?  Is it caused by colouring, styling or something else?  Have you been putting off colouring your hair to prevent further damage?  Would you like to trial the Schwarzkopf Fibre Therapy range?

As a blonde whose hair is going naturally darker as I get older, I'm a home-dyer and my hair suffers for it. Mostly the ends and about a third of the way up the length are the worst areas. I try and only do my roots when I do re-colour, but have been experimenting with new and different shades (e.g. Rose Blonde), so am having to colour all of my hair during these times. I've experimented with other colours (reds, browns, plums) in the past but always come back to blonde.

My hair is luckily in pretty good condition. I haven't dyed it for a few months. So I'll leave this trial to someone who could benefit more. If there is a trial for products for hair falling out please sign me up. It's the main reason I need to vacuum carpets at home.

I'm all over this one! I've been trying to grow my hair out, but after too much experimentation with colour, it's really difficult to keep growing with all the dryness and frizz! Would love to try this.

Yes I am looking forward to this trial, my poor hair is a big fizzy dry mess, I need to find something that really works.

Yes please! My hair drives me crazy how it's opposite from one end to the other and it looks awful in places!! It don't have a huge amount of time to spend on it either but I do what I can!

My hair looks and feels like a goats bum hair at the moment...hormones, sun damage, the straightener are just talking its toll. I would love to trial this so I can stop looking like Bill Goats Gruff! Sign me up please!

I dye my hair blonde which does cause damage even with regular hair treatments. I have been reducing how often I use heat styling products to help my hair and prevent excess damage. Split ends and frizz tend to be the main annoying features of my hair

I'm a bottle blonde, it's a constant care and repair on my part to keep my hair looking ok, I battle damage and brass..... I'm always interested in products that can keep my hair (mid to long) have in the past had to bite the bullet and get length cut off due to not being able to save it.

The joys of having super light hair.....breakage!! My hair is constantly under strain and is very damaged after years of bleaching. I try to keep it in the best condition I can but sometimes professional products are just too pricey so a cheaper alternative would be amazing. Would love to take this for a test run xx

Would be super keen to trial these, ive used schwarzkopf range many times and have found it never does what it says it will so be interesting to see if this is any different. My hair is shocking! Split ends, dry and damaged from colouring! Really trying to find something thT will bring my hair back to being healthy. Im going to be a bridesmaid at the end of the year and would love it to not be damaged.

My hair is dry as a normal part of aging. I've been using the Schwarzkopf Sun Repair range recently and I find that really softens and hydrates my hair. I'm optimistic this range will be as good or better. I particularly like the look of the oil spray.....

Well...I've been box dying my hair for over 30 years now so I need all the help I can get! Split ends aren't an issue as I keep my hair short (it won't grow below my shoulders without thinning out, probably due to damage) I'd definitely like to keep the color looking fresh fir as long as possible too. I'd love to try this range. I'm just using up all the different shampoos and conditioners lying around at the moment and not anything from a dedicated range.

this stuff sounds amazing. however i wont put my hand up - i have issues with the brand, and i only wash my hair once a week so it's unfair to say me me me hahaha. i look forward to the reviews though!

Oh my gosh what I wouldn't do to be a part of this trail team. I feel like my hair is a never ending battle of lifelessness! It's flat, damaged from years of colouring, always breaking, doesn't hold colour even when I do dye it and just all round a sad state most days. I have yet to really find anything that helps it which doesn't involved me sitting with my head wrapped in a towel for 3 hours (coconut oil). So yes would love to be considered.

My hair ticks all those boxes. I have my hair in a short Bob and i would love to have it feeling soft and silky and looking amazing.
