Does your hair desperately need REPAIR?

We all know that styling, colouring and environmental factors can damage our hair - but do you know the signs that your hair is in desperate need of repair?  Here are a few warning signs to look out for.

Quick Dry - If your coloured hair dries almost instantly after showering it's a sign that your hair has been made very porous by the chemicals in the hair colour.  It's a vicious cycle too, as porous hair will absorb too much pigment into the hair, giving you a too-dark result.  You also may find that your hair colour fades faster, as the porousness of the hair releases too much of the color as you shampoo.

Water Test - When you next find a stray hair, run your finger nail down the shaft to curl it (like curling ribbon with scissors).  If when you drop the curled strand in a glass of water, it doesn't uncurl it means your hair has lost it's elasticity.  Heat styling is normally the cause - it can cause the cuticle to lift up to lift up, releasing valuable moisture and leaving shafts brittle.

Split Ends - The occasional split end is normal - but when the ends of your hair look like uneven straw it's a sign you are continually damaging your hair.  When split ends aren't trimmed regularly the hair is more likely to split further, 'spreading' the damage up the shaft of the hair.  Do not be tempted to trim the ends at home - dull scissors will again, split the hair more!

Dull, dull, dull - If your hair refuses to shine, even with the help of serum or intensive treatment - it's more than likely damaged!

If you're showing the signs of damaged hair, you need to begin a routine for repairing it.  You probably know of salon treatments using advances in technology to repair your locks, but in a few weeks time, you'll be able get this technology at home!  We've got our hands on the new Schwarzkopf range before it's nationwide release on March 20th!  EEEP!

‘Plex’ is a revolution that is changing the hairdressing industry an innovative hair repair treatment which protects the hair from damage during the colour process by rebonding broken hair fibres.  This technology is now available with Schwarzkopf Extra Care Fibre Therapy  hair care range with OMEGAPLEX® which helps to repair your hair, strand by strand.

Fibre Therapy promises:

  • to help rebond and seal broken hair structures for silky, smooth hair
  • to protect the hair from damage and encourage the creation of new bonds

The FIFTY members of this trial team will be putting the Fibre Therapy Shampoo, Conditioner and Repair-in-Oil Spray Treatment to the test.  Now all three look a-maz-ing, but the Repair-In-Oil spray?  Colour us excited!

This innovative treatment spray is formulated with two phases to provide double-effect results - it's a beautifying oil for shine and supple hair, AND with Schwarzkopf's OMEGAPLEX® ingredient it will also reconstruct your hair!  Told ya - it's a goodie!

So - tell us - is your hair showing signs of damage?  Is it caused by colouring, styling or something else?  Have you been putting off colouring your hair to prevent further damage?  Would you like to trial the Schwarzkopf Fibre Therapy range?

I would love to trial these, especially the hair oil. My hair is really fine, and I lighten it, so that weakens the hair shaft further. The outer layer is always really frizzy and dry, so I have bad frizz and flyaways on top. Split ends are a problem too.

This is the one trial I am DESPERATE to be on! I've been dealing with damaged hair for years now, due to bleaching and dying, only recently have I finally made the full commitment to fixing my locks! I've started growing out my natural hair, but the majority of my hair is still super damaged from dye and heat styling. I would absolutely love to try this product as I know if it works I would for sure purchase time and time again!!!

I use to have a really good product that was great when I straighten my hair but for the life of me Oi can't find it anymore most of the others I have tried don't seem to make a difference or make my hair oily. I'm lucky if I get to a hairdresser twice a year for a cut and colour to try to sort my mess out thanks for Chris and birthdays right. Would be great if there were products that made your hair great with out having to colour it.

I need to try this, I have split ends and dull hair :(

I have very long and very curly hair which I dye at home Hair dye only lasts a few weeks now (despite being a permanent box dye) when a year ago the same brands wouldn't fade for months! My hair is in terrible shape and iv tried many different products but its still always dry and frizzy. I would love to try this product out please !

Would love to trial this. I have coloured my hair a lot and it is not in the beat shape. It is dry and damaged along with having split ends. Would love to colour my hair again but would like to get it into better shape first. A trim would help a bit, but think dyeing my hair has taken a toll.

My hair is very bleurgh at the moment! It's old and dry with split ends and has been dyed so needs some much needed TLC! I would be extremely keen to try anything that claims to give my hair a silky, smooth appearance whilst protecting it and would love to continue using if it proves effective!

My hair is coloured every 3 weeks, I'm in a pool once a week...so add chlorine to that, I dry it wilth a hair dryer and straighten it with a straightener... so it is not happy hair...hence it is always up in a boring ponytail. I want to try a shampoo that's going to make it look healthy, show off the colour and throw away the hair tie. I've tried a lot of products but my hair always seems to come out looking the same - nice hair is important when you are 50... bad hair ages you!

Id love to try this!! My hair is quite porus being that it is bleached blonde.. it often gets alot of breakage and can be quite nerve wracking when I bleach it.. I love smooth healthy looking hair..

The water test sounds pretty interesting and I'll be definitely doing it. I don't have split ends but my hair does look dull. I colour my hair at home and use a hair straightener on a regular basis.

I feel my hair don't look as healthy as they used to. Putting my hand up to try this range.

Oh please I'd love to try this one. I have blonde hair which is bleached frequently so is dry and brittle a lot of time. Repair is in desperate need

I am in the process of bleaching my hair so I can achieve a cotton candy pink shade, so my hair is definitely feeling damaged. I have been intrigued by Olaplex for a while now (and I guess "Plex" in general, though I hadn't heard that as a term on it's own before this article). Guy Tang is hair bae, which is where I first heard of this seemingly miracle product for hair colouring. I would love to trial this product and see if it can keep my hair healthy during my hair transformation (no "paranormal hairtivity" is welcome in my hair!!!)

This looks amazing! I love trying new hair products as my hair isn't in the best shape, I feel like I have spent so much on products that don't work so would be great to try something like this that could help! My hair is pretty much white/greyish/sometimes purple as I lighten and tone the Shiz out of it. Though it's quite resilient I do have split ends and my hair is quite dry and rough, it is in desperate need of a miracle, so would love to give this product a good test out.

Yes please! Super fine hair right here, with so much breakage and split ends, not to mention all my hair iv lost post baby :( my hair is definitely in need of some TLC! And how cool, an oil spray! Thats a product i definitely have never tried, keen to give this a go :)

Definitely have split ends and dullness! Currently alternating between Tresemme and pantene. Would love to see if this works better at repairing my lifeless, uncoloured hair.
