Remember the good old days? AKA 2019. The time when the name 'Ashley' made us think of an Olsen twin, when 1pm was for eating not watching a press conference, when the two metre swerve was something you did after one too many winesies...
It wouldn't be an understatement to say that since those glory days things have changed, even in a place like New Zealand where the impact of Covid 19 has been 'minimal' compared to other countries. On the whole we've been able to create a new normal that's not too dissimilar to our old day-to-day normal, however these days everywhere we go we're asked to scan in, with hand sanitiser offered to help keep us safe in case of an outbreak. We've become aware of things we'd paid no mind to previously - like how much we touch our face, and how often we touch products around us, because in the event of an outbreak that innocent can of beans could well have the virus living on it.
Which leads us to this week's question... How has living in pandemic times changed your behaviour at the beauty counter? Do you still swatch blush and bronzer and eyeshadow willy nilly? Do you try makeup on your face? Do you even dare to test lipstick on your lips (which I'm sorry, but pandemic times or not, applying lipstick testers to your kissers is really not a hygienic idea, even if you wipe the bullet first).
Or have your beauty shopping habits changed? Do you shop more online? Do you avoid testers and hope for the best when it comes to colour matching? Do you sanitise products before testing them? Or ask for a member of staff to sanitise a product first?
So, do tell... do you now side-eye makeup testers, or are you just as likely to eye them up?

I’m not afraid to swatch a $50 and up foundation on my hand . I would hate to return home with the wrong shade.
