Brow Scrubs Are A Thing! Would You?

When it comes to exfoliating I think of two places... my body and my face. More specifically the skin on my body and face. So it was with surprise that I read that brow exfoliation is a thing. Not only is it a thing, you can buy scrubs that are designed specifically for your brows.

Are your brows raised at that concept? Because mine certainly were.

Naturally, being a curious lass I looked further into it, because part of me cynically saw brow scrubs as a way for companies to make more money by adding in another step to our beauty regime, while another part of me considered that when you take into account all the products we apply to our brows, one might actually need to give our brows some tender loving care every now and then.

So what's the deal with a brow scrub? Do we really need one? Is there a chance for those of us with sparse brows that scrubbing them could make them sparser?

Well, it turns out that eyebrows are a great place to store dead skin cells. They trap those little suckers in, which can result in your brows looking dry and patchy. Not the best of looks, let's be honest. Enter brow exfoliation.

Brow exfoliation will keep the area clear and smooth, while work to prevent ingrowns, which will make any brow product you use look better. It's also touted as having the power to promote new hair growth. As a child of the overplucked 90s who's yet to see overplucked brows grow back, I don't see how that's all that possible... but if it works - BONUS!

The key to a good brow exfoliation? While a chemical exfoliant is ideal as it's far kinder to the skin and hair, a physical exfoliant will do the trick too. But the key, especially if you're using a scrub, is to be super gentle as you massage the product in using circular motions AROUND the brow area, not on the brow area. Why not on it? Simply because exfoliating there can result in hair loss, which any brow lover likes to avoid. Also? Once or twice a week is as much as you need to do it, otherwise you could irritate the area.

Am I converted? A little. Maybe. I'm also lazy, so can't see myself being all that bothered. However, if you care about your brows I can see why investing in a dedicated brow scrub could be worth it.

So, my browed up beauties... Do you exfoliate your eyebrows? Is it on your radar? Or have you never ever considered doing such a thing? Take our poll and chat below!

No I’m lazy when it comes to exfoliator.

I wouldn't buy a specific brow exfoliant, seems like a cash-grab to me. Sometimes I scrub my brows a little when I use a face scrub, but generally try not to. I get my brows tinted and get scared it'll make the tint last less

I’ve been doing it for years. Got my brows bleached for a shoot years back and they used WAY too strong a mix and burnt my skin and brows. Ever since they’ve been high maintenance but I never really thought of makeup etc contributing to this too.

I just use my face scrub and don’t usually go around my brows, so I guess I do?

Hmmm I just exfoliate my face full stop.

I don't but I'm not against it. My skin gets dry between my brow and my hairline.

I exfoliate my brows! And have been for years, only because it makes tweezing so much easier, I just use my regular gentle scrub and rub over the top of my brows which I just learned ,reading from Queen Tabitha is a no go! So from now on it will just be gently around the brow. I didn't know there were brow scrubs, just for that purpose, Im intrigued!
