Are You Going to Make a New Year's Resolution?

Depending on where you find your 'scientific research'; forming a new habit can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months.

And it seems to be a general consensus that New Year's Resolutions that include breaking old habits and forming new ones,  are the hardest to keep.  Why?  My guess is because they're not on your clock.  You'll only give something up when YOU are ready to, not when the calender tells you you are.

One great tip for a successful result is instead of resolving NOT TO DO something, aspire TO DO something.  Remove the negative connotation and it's immediately more doable.

Committing yourself to a New Years resolution can be a difficult task, but it’s important to remind yourself that if it only takes 21 days to form a habit, so if you get into a healthy routine, it will become part of your lifestyle.

With that in mind...are you going to make any New Year's resolutions this year?  Are you going to try and break old habits, or forge new ones?

I haven't really made a new year resolution as such just focusing on living healthier and taking better care of myself by eating less junk food and doing more exercise like yoga and pilates to help with my fibromyalgia.

This year I am Investing in myself. I have worked out every day so far, I have done more abdominal breathing, eaten more veg's and done meditation. With working out it may not sound like much but I have Chronic pain, nerve damage, hypersensitivity in my left knee and leg plus sciatic and lumber pain. So for me that's MASSIVE =)

I'm specifically avoiding a New Years resolution because I don't want to limit myself to waiting til the end of the year to make changes

I haven't even given it a single thought. I would like to work less and spend less time around people I don't like. It might take a while to figure out how to do those two things ...
