Freeman Mint & Lemon Clay Mask Review

Great for breakout prone oily skin

Freeman Beauty Mint & Lemon Clay Mask is suitable for breakout prone and oily skin. I bought a 15ml sachet to try out before committing to a full sized tube and I like to decant the sachet into a small pot with a screw top lid before using it for the first time.

I apply my face masks with an old, flat foundation brush that I've repurposed specifically for this, as I find the foundation brush allows me to get a nice, thin, even layer that dries in 10-15 minutes. Using the little screw top tub means that I can just dip my brush into the mask and save the rest for next time.

The kaolin clay based mask is a pale green colour with thick paste-like consistency and a peppermint scent. The kaolin clay helps to absorb excess oil, minimising shine and disguising the appearance of large pores, while the menthol provides a short-lived cooling sensation that's supposed to help reduce skin inflammation caused by breakouts.

I applied the mask to my face and neck (after cleansing and exfoliating), making sure to avoid the skin around my eyes and mouth and let the clay dry completely before rinsing it off with warm water.

Using a foundation brush to apply, I got 4 masks out of this sachet. It left my skin feeling clean, smooth and soft, as well as feeling much less oily for a few hours after using this. I'll definitely be buying more of this.

Tips: Decant the sachets into a small tub with a lid and use a flat foundation brush to apply.

I normally just fold over the top of the sachet a couple of times and clip it down. The re-potting is a good idea, thanks for that.

*VOLT*

When I first saw this in the vault I knew I needed this in my collection! I love shades that are deep, and a little darker (This shade surprised me). From the picture I thought it was a stoney looking colour, much to my surprise it wasn't!

This fierce wee leopard print cannister holds a beautiful grey/purple shade of lipstick. It glides on flawlessly without needing to line the lip.

The colour on the lip is a grey with purple tinge. A surprisingly soft deep colour but also a perfect bold colour!

Long lasting definitely! A 6 hour wear time frame I needed to touch it up once after a few wines :)

I can't wait to create a look for this lippy. It's a perfect going out shade of Lippy.

Sadly I couldn't find it on their website! Will be a sad day if this shade is no longer available?! Awesome to see this a New Zealand brand made in our very own Wellington :)

Contact the company, they do custom colours as well onsite

It looks a very interesting shade Amy!!

great review amy, i'm curious now!

I couldn't find it on their website either. Maybe it is a new shade and they haven't updated their website.

Goodness Twice-A-Day Eye Cream Review

Fair to middling for me

I got this product in the Thanks For...BBBE. I'm always on the lookout for a good eye product so I was looking forward to trying it.

I don't have an amazing history with Goodness products, they're lovely products, but I suspect they may not be as potent as my aging skin desires or requires.

So this one comes in a lovely apricot tube, which is actually smaller than I thought the box indicated, and has a thin applicator tube. Presumably this is to ensure only a small amount is released with each squeeze.

The product itself is a thin white lotion, but slightly thicker/creamier than a lotion. It has a very gentle but pleasant perfumey scent - though oddly the tube says it's fragrance free? (did it pick up a scent while it sat inside the BBBE?)

On application it absorbs very quickly and leaves my under eye area well hydrated. That is very nice, but over time I haven't noticed any change to my eye bags or wrinkles.

I love the gorgeous ingredients - witch hazel ( which explains the nice cooling sensation when it's applied), chia seed, coconut and avocado - all my favourites. All combining to make a fabulous moisturiser.

I will continue to use it to the end and benefit from it's moisturising properties but maybe my eye area is 'too mature' for this lovely product to tackle the big three - lines , puffiness and bags! I tend to think of Goodness products as suited towards women younger than myself and this product hasn't changed my view.

For a good eye product it's a great price and has fabulous ingredients, and I would recommend it to women maybe of a younger age or those just starting to need an eye product. For older women, I think we've missed the boat with this one - something stronger might be more beneficial. I'd be happy to continue to use it as a daytime facial moisturiser as well, it has the goods for that most certainly. No SPF, but hey, I live in the South - there's no sun at the moment!.

Thanks Maree, this cream lasts I have only used about a 1/3 of the tube with twice daily use. Still no major noticeable difference in my skin. The only thing it has real done is get me in a habit without spending a fortune on a product.

Goodness this is Good!

Can it be possible that an eye cream created in New Zealand from natural ingredients can actually compete with the expensive eye creams that promise the world - but often fail to deliver in terms of treating that often 'hard to treat' eye area? I think it actually can and I honestly think I've found it in a little golden tube called, naturally enough, 'Goodness Twice-A-Day Eye Cream'.

I always like to try a little bit of these creams on my hand first to see what they feel like and this felt really silky straight away and incredibly light - just what you need for your eye area, (especially if you are of a certain age like me...sshh...just hit 50...)! I then tried it on the eye area as recommended and within a week there was a noticeable difference. I'm battling some pretty tough health issues at the moment and my eye area is really suffering. This was honestly just the boost that was needed.

I've used many really expensive eye creams over the years but I can honestly say, hand on heart, that it would take a lot to convince me to change back to them. My illness had meant some pretty gruesome lines developing and even they've diminished with this cream. I'm really keen to try some of their other products now too. Give this a go. You won't be disappointed - and it's a Kiwi product!

Great Product

I really liked this product it was a good daily scrub that did not leave your face dry or irritated. I have sensitive skin so that is a huge plus. The mask aspect was great it truly did what it said and left my face felling hydrated. Excellent product that can be brought at the supermarket and a great price. Would defiantly recommend

What were the scrub bits like? large, small? did it give a better scrub with or without a bit of water?

perfect nudes

I am a big Too Faced fan and I absolutely adore this little palette. I had a bit of a clean out of all my old products and products I didn’t use very often and for some silly reason I put this away and then months maybe a year later I went back through the box of put away ‘things’ and I fell in love with this palette all over again.

The packaging is cute in cardboard with a small ribbon you pull up to open the lid. When you open the lid you are greeted by 9 gorgeous colours 3 lighter colours for the lashes to brow bone then 6 neutral colours. I love how this has 3 looks ‘day’ ‘night’ and ‘classic’ inside the lid there are 3 cards you can pull out and it tells you on each card how to create the look with the colours, it is so simple and the perfect way to learn if you are new to eyeshadows.

The ‘day’ look is almost all matte eyeshadows the cream base then a caramel colour and a darker brown colour. The ‘classic’ is very metallic and has a peachy toned base with a reddy copper and then a purple brown. The ‘fashion’ is the most metallic and shimmery of the 3 look and has quite a tan coloured base then a caramel brown and a red brown.

I’ve used all the colours a fair bit but generally go for the more shimmery colours, just because they look so pretty and the shimmery particles are teeny tiny which I love I’m not a fan of the ‘heavier’ looking particles.

The formula is creamy and smooth, all the colours are very pigmented and blend easily. There is no fallout when you apply it, which I love about this product. Aint nobody got time for fallout!

I don’t use a primer underneath and I can get a good 6 hours out of each wear. There is minimal colour fade during the day and it doesn’t shift. Overall it’s a great wee palette that I won’t be putting away anytime soon, with perfect nude and neutral colours.

So rosy

I recently overhauled my skincare routine, I had been using Lancome products for a while and loved the range I was using (regenerie) but started finding it was too heavy for my skin and turning it oily and greasy so I did a bit of research and decided to bite the bullet and try this very expensive range.

This toner is 150ml and the gorgeous towering black glass bottle is so heavy it feels like your getting a mini workout every time you use it. It has a gorgeous equally as heavy round gold lid. If you hold it up to the light you can see how much toner you have left which i love, no getting caught unaware.

After cleansing I spray the centre of my face starting in the centre of my forehead and spraying right down to my chin, I then repeat on the left side and right side of my face. I love how fine the mist is when you spray it, it feels so delicate and has a very fine rose scent.

I let it sit for a couple of seconds then gently pat the remaining mist into my skin. Afterwards my skin feels super soft and applying the mist feels really refreshing. I was told I would roughly get 6 months from this $199 bottle and judging by how long I have had it and the tiny amount that has been used I would say it would last longer. So value for money wise it's not too bad? Would I buy again?....... Trilogy's toner mist is gorgeous too and cheaper.

For a moment I thought there was a typo with the price but obviously not. Please tell me there was a diamond or some gold in the bottle at that price

That last comment should just read rose water. I dont know where autocorrect got the timer from lol.

Yowsers! I get a lovely rose water timer off iherb for $10.

Blessed by kittens =^.^=

Essano are one of my favourite brands because of the ingredients they use in their products. This conditioner is free from parabens, sulphates, and the dreaded preservative, methylisothiazolinone, which irritates my skin. It is also made in New Zealand and is not tested on animals. After using their skincare range I was very excited to learn that they were launching a hair care range.

The conditioner itself smells nice and mild. It is rich, and leaves my hair feeling lovely and conditioned. My hair is so soft after using this that it feels like it has been blessed by kittens.

Tips: You do not need to apply a large amount to get well-conditioned hair. My hair is below my shoulders and I find one palm size enough for my dry hair.

You won't regret it!

I've been too busy sniffing it to use it since I received my bottle, maybe this week. It smells fantastic.

I'm in love!

I was lucky enough to win this palette from Beauty Review. So stoked as I had wanted it for ages!

This is a great palette to take away with you as it has almost everything you need. The packaging is durable (I am clumsy and have broken many palette lids while travelling) and a good size to take away in your handbag.

Great colours in the palette. I don't know what the colours are called but I use the dark brown for my brows every day, perfect colour for my dark brows.

It's a great palette if you are going for a more natural look but can definitely be used to glam up with the gold and bronze colours.

These shadows last well and the darker colours work well as eyeliner too.

Definitely a great palette, would like to add the blush nudes to my collection as I feel this palette is only missing one thing, a hint of pink or peach.

This is definitely a good starter kit for newbies as it has nice neutral colours and it's easy to blend, I am going to buy my little sister one for christmas :)

I managed to get blushed nudes from the uk and I really like it. I do tend to wear a lot of pinks. Rock nudes sounds cool. I think the blush nudes is more pigmented than the nudes too.

Apparently there is also a rock nudes out, not that I have ever seen it and I managed to get ahold of the blushed nudes which I never saw anywhere here. I'm still trying to decide on it which is why I haven't reviewed it yet.

Snowberry New Radiance Face Serum Review

Glowing skin and finer lines

This is my first time using a serum, so I didn't know what to expect, especially Snowberry being a new brand. The texture is quite like a wet gel. There isn't much of a scent. I applied to a clean face in a tapping motion, not rubbing it in. The package advises not to put on other products until after 10 minutes. If you do, it kind of balls up the serum, like when you're peeling from sunscreen. So follow the instructions and wait the 10 mins. Have a cup of tea. I noticed my skin was clearer, my foundation looked better, and had finer lines around my eyes. I do enjoy this product and would keep buying it!

Tips: Wait the 10 minutes after applying before putting on any other products, it's worth it!

Was this review useful to you? Yes No

I didn't tap mine in the first time, I smoothed it on. I will have to try tapping it in since I have only tried it once yet.
