Great Fast Colour

I was given a bottle of this nail polish as a gift in a facebook group that I used to be apart of. I had not used this brand before and I was excited to give this a try. The only other fast drying nail polish brand I have used is Revlon.

This bottle is clear so that you can visually see this nail colour within it. The colour I was given is Coral. This shade is a bright orange colour. It's vibrant and fresh. I instantly fell in love with this colour. This brush has full bristles slightly curved tip . It performs beautifully when applying nail colour. Consistency of this polish is unusually uneven in thickness.

On first application it dries within sixty seconds leaving a streaky backdrop. Second application it left quite a streaky mess. Third layer of polish I managed to get a good even coat. This polish lasted on me for about a day and it began to chip easily.

It's affordably priced. One bottle lasted me up to six months . I wasn't happy with how long it lasted on my nails. I like it to last me at least a weeks wear.

Yeah a top coat might make it hold a bit longer .

I just got this in the vault Macs, hopefully with a top coat it might last longer

Hot mess

Like others before me I got this pallette in the incredible eyes box. I absolutely love eye shadow palettes their in my top five make up favourites. I discovered mellow through beauty review and have seen this company develop its make up range over the last year.

The pallette itself is made of cardboard. It has a small mirror which looks kind of odd because it's rather small. There's fourteen shades in this pallette. The first six nude colours are mix of shimmer and mattes . Their great for a base and highlighting inner corner. The next five shades are great for deepining the transition shade. The last three would be great for smoky eye looks. I found these shadows were quite chalky when swatched. The blush is surprisingly pigmented. The brow powder was far too light for me.

The brush provided did do a great job at blending these eye shadows. I did get a half a days wear out of them. Every shade is buildable. The fall out behind makes it a bit messy. In comparison to the mellow single shadows I was a little bit disapointed with it . The singles were way better than this.

I wouldn't go out and repurchase this one . I see it's highly reviewed but I just have to disagree with everyone. Even though it wasn't a good result I am still keen to try more mellow products out.

Tips: Try wetting your brush might help these eye shadows last longer

The singles were way better than this one Kim.

A'kin Brightening Rosehip Oil with Vitamin C Review

The Good Oil? The Great Oil!

I've yet to fall in love with an oil. Most of the time I've felt rather ho-hum about them. They're fine. They moisturise my skin. But do I notice a difference? Not really. That doesn't stop me from trying new oils though - and the A'Kin Rosehip Oil with Vitamin C was intriguing to say the least.

The packaging is pretty standard for an oil - a dark bottle, great to keep the sun off the product. A dropper, which delivered exactly the amount I needed (three to four drops).

The oil is a yellowy gold colour and a little thick. It claims to be non-greasy and quick to absorb, however I erred on the side of caution initially and only applied it at night after cleansing and toning, and before moisturising. We can tick the non-greasy and quick to absorb boxes. No issues there. My skin didn't feel tacky in the slightest. Once I felt comfortable using this at night I used it during my morning routine as well and found my skin felt so fresh and dewy during the day - and it didn't effect makeup application either - which is always good.

So did it do anything? First of all - no breakouts. Usually when using a Vitamin C product my skin goes nuts, not in this case. I feel like the lines around my eyes and forehead look less prominent - yay! And my skin definitely has this renewed fresh look about it.

This might not be the cheapest oil on the market, but as far as I'm concerned it's the best. I've finally found the good oil! And it's great!

The best of the three

The conditioner packaging is equally as pretty as the rest of the range, so luxurious!!

I like that the lid is on the bottom, so it makes it easy to use. This is a super thick formula which I LOVE in a conditioner, almost masque like texture. One thing I did notice about this is a little did go a long way (and I have a tonnnnneeee of hair) After i rinsed the conditioner out I felt like their was only a few tangles BUT they were super easy to comb so it did an awesome job of putting moisture back into my super dry ends.

Overall I found this to be really moisturising, and left my hair smelling and feeling sooo good. I have used this a couple of times now and have found that I only need a little conditioner and only on my very ends otherwise it makes my hair a little heavy.

Tips: a little goes a long way

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer - Review

I had been eyeing this gorgeous highlight up for a while at my local pharmacy, and one day I decided to just bite the bullet and buy it and I can say I am NOT disappointed! This is easily one of the best highlighters I have ever purchased.

First off I'll start with the packaging - this comes in a cute little compact, which has a very retro design to it. I personally love the packaging, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. When you open the compact, there's a handy mirror inside, and the highlighter itself comes in a huge pan. When I first swatched it, I was in love! One swipe for a gorgeous glow with a buttery soft formula. There's not much fallout so you're not wasting any product, but you do still have to be careful not to pick too much product up or else you'll look like the tin man. The colour of this highlight is also gorgeous - a honey golden colour, but not too dark on my pale skin, it would definitely suit me all year round. I do also think this would look gorgeous on tanned/olive skin.

To sum it up, I definitely agree with all the hype surrounding this product. It's an essential - and though it's not the cheapest highlight it certainly rivals some more high-end highlights (such as MAC, JSC etc). The amount of product you get for the price is a huge WIN for me - I've had this for about 3 months and haven't even made a dent. I don't think I'll ever have to repurchase, but I definitely would!

Tips: Use a very light hand, a little goes a VERY long way!

Amazing!

I love most Essence products, and this is definitely a favourite. I prefer liners with a thin tip so it is easy to create a sharp wing and this is perfect!

It's very pigmented and easy to use, and lasts a long time on the eyes. However the reason I gave this 4 stars is because it dries out pretty quickly. It would be great if it lasted longer, but for the price I can get past that.

Overall this is a great liner, and would be great for someone just starting out with liquid liner.

Tips: Store it upside down so the product is always at the tip

Maybelline Makeup Remover Eyes and Lips Review

Eye & Lip make-up remover

Maybelline Make-up Remover Eye & Lip is an oil-free, fragrance free, opthalmologically and dermatologically tested make-up remover that is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

The duo-phase blue and white liquid easily removes stubborn make-up, including long-wear, waterproof or water-resistant formulas, like Bobbi Brown Gel Liner, Benefit's Push-up Liner and Maybelline's Superstay lipsticks.

Best of all, there's no greasy residue, no stinging and no blurry vision. It's affordable and the conveniently sized 70ml clear plastic bottle has a secure screw top lid which is perfect for travelling, as it doesn't leak or take up too much space, and it's easy to see how much is left in the bottle.

I have repurchased this product many times, and will continue repurchasing, as it's effective, affordable and doesn't leave me with blurry vision like other make-up removers tend to.

Tips: To remove non-transfer, smudge-proof make-up, shake the bottle well and wet a cotton pad. Hold the wet cotton pad against your closed eye (or lips) for 30 seconds to soften the make-up before gently wiping it off. You'll wipe your eyes less often, so there's less chance of tugging at the delicate skin around your eyes. Rinse with warm water once done.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation - Combination/Oily Review

Worth my $40 all day everyday!

I found this last year in the local chemist. I asked the retail assistant for her advice on a good coverage foundation for combination skin. I wanted something light weight but still able to hide all my imperfections whilst still looking natural. After noting all my desires she quickly pointed me in the direction of Revlon Colour-Stay. She gave me a small pot of three colours to use so I could find the perfect or closest match. I ended up going with medium beige. After trying them all I found that I have been using a shade or two lighter in every foundation which is why people comment that I look pale. Ah-ha moment!

The price at first made me hold my breath when I swiped my card but it was what I had to do to get my much needed foundation. The bottle is a little less pretty than I am used to with my foundations. But as they say you can't judge a book by its cover. It's what is on the inside that counts. It is cylindrical and simple yet chic.

The foundation itself is very smooth and creamy. It comes out of the pump bottle very easily, with no clogging. I use a brush to apply to my face in dabs then use my beauty blender to give it a flawless look and no streaks.

The foundation blends almost effortlessly. I find that I use far less product than most other foundations because a small bit goes along way. Especially when using a blender. The coverage is exactly as promised. It is medium to full which is what I was after. The best part is it feels as though I have no makeup on, it's just that lightweight.

The true test will be if it lasts a full day in summer when I am walking around and sweating alot. I am pleasantly surprised by just how longwearing this foundation is. Although it has some wear, especially on my cheeks and forehead; it is for the most part in tact. I am impressed. Who knew a brand like Revlon could outlast other higher end brands like this and give better coverage to boot. The combination type foundation is perfect for my dry and oily patches skin. It doesn't make me look like an oil slick but still gives me a glow so my dry parts don't stick out. Gimmie moooore!

Tips: Use a primer to give it a flawless base

Lash Love

I ordered through EOH when they were having a special too good to refuse and ended up buying two of these bad boys! The website was easy to navigate and the process was made easy.

EOH do their packaging well. The black and gold is very on trend, and I love it! The mascara comes in a rectangular box, which gives you details of the product. The mascara cylinder itself is basic black with the EOH gold logo and emblem. It is easy to hold as it has a tapered bottom.

The first time I tried this mascara I was very iffy about the wand, it was rubber and small - everything I go against when choosing a mascara.

Now I have been using lash growth serum for awhile so I have long, but still not thick lashes.

Prior to application I curl my lashes (like I do with any mascara) I find application to be easy as it separates lashes with no clumps. The amount of product on the wand is just right to cover my lashes, top and bottom and it gives me the dark black lashes I want. The only negative about this product is that it doesn't make my lashes look thicker (which to be honest it doesn't claim to do so that's ok!)

It lasts me all day with no flaking or wearing. It doesn't smudge at all, but it isn't waterproof so bare this in mind.

Removal takes a little longer than some mascaras I've had in the past (depending what you are using) You can still use face wipes, micellar water, makeup oils and it will come off just be gentle.

If you are looking for a mascara to provide longer lashes with volume you should try this. I would purchase this again if it was part of another special deal as I love that it is 'mainly' natural ingredients <3

Tips: EOH are releasing a new mascara soon called 'Bio lash lift' which doesn't feature any beeswaxes if you are looking for a 100% vegan option.

EOH NaturalBasedIngredients Mascara 4 Natural Look

I have seen so much hype about this mascara. Eye of Horus produces my current fave brand of eye pencils so I wanted to try the mascara as well. I bought it in a goddess package which worked out to be more products for less than buying each one individually. The black tube holds 8g of product and that you can stand up on your dresser or beauty table if you want. The applicator is a rubber one that is sort shaped like an hourglass. I do like that the ingredients list isn't long - water, acrylates copolymer, beeswax, carnauba wax, stearic acid, rice bran wax, candelilla wax, glyceryl stearate, PVP, moringa seed oil, caprylyl glycol, phenoxyethanol, hexylene glycol, chlorphenesin, CI 77266 (nano). So although the list isn't completely natural or organic it isn't a long list and is pretty free of nasties. When I use this I get a natural look, not vavoom lashes or really long ones. It could be because I have really stumpy and sparse lashes but I've seen people with better longer and fuller lashes than me use this and come out with natural looking lashes, so I do have reason to believe this is the mascara. As far as staying put this does smudge on me especially on my lower lashes, but then everything smudges on me even smudge-proof eye makeup. I haven't seen any lash growth as a result of using this either, but I would imagine that this is much more gentle on your lashes than some other brands and so if your lashes get a lot of wear and tear being weighed down by other formulas that dry them out the oils in this probably condition them and the ingredients in this mascara are easier on your lashes. This is also a good mascara if you have sensitive skin or eyes. One funny thing I noticed on the box is that it says that once it's open it's good for 6 months, which I am not completely sure about because you're supposed to toss out mascara 4 months after you open and use it. I do like it as a more holistic mascara that I like to believe is conditioning my lashes and free of nasties but other than that I think there are other mascara for about the same price or cheaper that give more volume. So not sure if I will repurchase or not.

Tips: This is natural based mascara that is free of nasties and good for sensitive skin, however it also is a natural look type of mascara. So if you want more than just darker lashes or a bit more defined lashes, this isn't the mascara for you. If you do want to get this I find that the promotion packages containing a mascara has more products for the break down price. So if there's anything else you want to try or replace in your Eye of Horus stash, looking for promotion bundles on the website will help you get the mascara for less.
