Maybelline curvitude Angled Liquid Eyeliner Pen

I will start by saying a huge thank you to Beauty Review for another chance to trial a product for free.

I was so surprised when this little marvel arrived with another trial product. I was only expecting a brow product and when this turned up I thought, mmmmm What am I going to do with this? I am not a fan of eye liners, probably because I am quite rubbish at applying them but I thought I have been given the chance to try this so I may as well give it the old Kiwi go.

Considering I am not a fan of eye liners I actually own a few. They just sit in my make up box and are never given a second look to be honest. This one though, wow. Such a simple tweek as a curve is an absolute game changer.

I go about my usual make up routine in the morning but now it includes eye liner. This is so, so easy to apply. You twist off the lid and it reveals a tip which is super fine and the colour is super black. The curve makes it so easy to apply. You dont find yourself kind of twisting your hand or head to get the perfect line.

The formula is really long lasting, it really stays all day and dosent budge. I do have a very oily eye area and have trouble with mascaras and panda eyes, but not with this. I love it and urge you to give it a go.

Tips: Just try it!

Perfect age perfect

When I bought this product on special from Mighty Ape for $9.99, I wasn’t expecting much – I’m not sure why not. Maybe because the packaging didn’t offer much excitement? It is a white plastic bottle with L’Oreal Paris written on it, then a strange orange picture with the product name and description.

It has a flip top lid which is nice and easy to use, and the product is easily squeezed out of it. The product itself is white and creamy. It is soft and silky on application, and is virtually odourless. The bottle says it contains perfume, but I can’t detect any.

The cream absorbs quickly into my face, leaving a slightly waxy feel. Then when I wash it off my skin feels clean and soft. It far exceeds my expectations – but it’s L’Oreal? Should I be surprised???. and, you don't need to use much each time.

The product claims to de-crinkle, hydrate and nurture mature skin with Magnesium to cleanse the skin while vitamin C re-energises. Yes, this is a fair claim.

It leaves skin feeling strengthened with an improved appearance. Yes, it does.

The 200ml bottle retails at around $18 usually, and this feels like a luxury product for that price, and all the better for me buying it for $9.99! I do recommend it.

It works, but your mileage may vary.

So having had short, Asian eyelashes all my life, I really wanted a chance to grow them so I could "complete" my look with mascara.

I decided on fLash (or Flash Lash) as it was the cheapest option compared to RevitaLash and other alternatives. I bought mine for $40 plus post from Once It.

I have been using it regularly for a month and a half, and I can say that there definitely has been results, though not dramatically so. My eyelashes are slightly longer (about 0.5mm), thicker and they now curl upwards. However, the growth seems to have stopped, so I believe my eyelashes might have reached their maximum length with this product. People with longer eyelashes might have better results.

I believe you get about 2ml (which is a 3 month supply), however, I'm not sure how much is left (the tube is opaque) and I apply it to both my top and bottom lashline. Occasionally, I do feel a bit of a slight burn and itchiness but it passes quickly.

I have also noticed my eyelashes are stronger and don't fall out as easily.

Overall, it is a good product and I believe it does work.

Tips: 1. Apply it as close to your lashline as possible. 2. Only apply it in areas that you wish your lashes to grow. I applied it too close to the inner corners and eyelashes are growing there too, which is a bit annoying as my curler can't reach that area.

I have used this for about a year now, I love my lashes, this is amazing!

L'Oreal Paris Colorista Soft Bleach Review

Definite Repurchase!

I bought this pack of bleach because a) my roots desperately needed a touch up and b) I was interested to see what it would be like. I paid the full $20 smackers for it, and it’s a purchase I definitely do not regret.

The bleach comes in an eye catching box, mostly white with the shiny silver. My magpie senses were tingling. Inside the box you would find the usual suspects – the applicator bottle, the color, conditioner and easy to read instructions. As this is bleach, instead of color it came with a sachet of powder and a tube of oil based bleach. This bleach does not contain ammonia. This is a fact I didn’t know when I purchased, so when I began applying I was pleasantly surprised!

To use, you mix the powder into the developing cream, and you then add the tube of oil based… stuff, I’m not sure the proper name for it and I’m not dumpster diving to find out. You roll it between your hands to mix, and then shake straight up and down to finish combining. The kit comes with an AWESOME pair of gloves – they’re thick and they fit my hands quite perfectly. I think if you had big hands you may have issues.

Application is easy, you just turn the bottle upside down and squirt the bleach where you want it. It’s just like using normal dye, except this will lighten your hair. To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure it’d work, as I usually associate bleach with an awful smell. 45 minutes later, though, my roots are definitely blonder.

I began rinsing and I was so, SO pleased to find that the bleach had not damaged my hair like it usually does. It was still soft and manageable in the water, so I was really happy. The kit comes with purple conditioner, and I guess if you stay blonde it’s supposed to be a 6 week treatment. I’m not planning on staying blonde for long, so I used half of the tube. You leave the conditioner in for 15 minutes so it can work it’s magic, and after showering it out I can definitely see a difference in the tone of my hair.

I will definitely be repurchasing this. 1 box was enough to do 4 months worth of regrowth. 4 months!!! I will admit though, my hair didn’t go platinum like it did on the box. At best, the hair closest to my scalp is platinum, and the rest is a blondey, orangey color. Mostly blonde though. It did miss a few spots where I very clearly went over with what was left in the tube, so it’s mostly a hit and not often a miss. It did not burn, which is fantastic as the last 2 times I've used hair salon grade bleach I've had burns from it. Regardless, this was a damn good experiment and I’m pleased to say it’s worked in my favour.

Tips: I used a hair dye brush to apply the bleach, it helped to disperse it more.

Lock it in!

I have wanted this foundation for the longest of time, so when Sephora bought out after pay that was me! But it really wasn't for me. I needed up purchasing 4 shades to go into my kit.

But of course I tried it out hehe!

The packaging! Boy oh boy, it is so beautiful. Old gothic is what it reminds me of. And the best part about the tube it's in? The sort of stamp seal button that you can re attach to the nozzle to keep the foundation in the pottle and not spilling out.

The formula is a medium consistency and is very lightweight on the skin, easily buildable for a fuller coverage. I did find using a brush to apply this foundation heaps easier to blend into the skin than a beauty blender.

The longtivity is pretty amazing too, I've worn this foundation about 5 times varying from 7-9 hour stints before I've noticed shifts on the skin.

I can only suggest if you have dry skin to hydrate it before applying this foundation! A good oil or moisturiser and not a matte primer! I found the dry patches around my nose stood out noticeably while wearing this foundation. It really was the only downfall I found with this foundation.

Tips: Dry skin? Be careful and hydrate before applying this foundation.

Sephora Collection Cleansing and Purifying Wipes

I dont use wipes often, usually on those nights when I am really tired or maybe I have had one or two too many wines.

These wipes come in a pack of 20 and they are a generous size. They take it all off! Seriously everything comes off easily and quickly. Ghese wipes leave your skin feeling soft and clean with a subtle fragrance.

The pack seals very well, best one I have used, seals every time and the wipes stay moist until the very last one in the pack.

Tips: I bought these wipes when Sephora NZ online was having a sale which made them a very good price.

I managed to get these on special when Sephora was having a sale

I’m with you on when I use face wipes - normally after a few wines! I’ve wondered about the high end branded ones compared to the baby wipes I use!

Great Fast Colour

I was given a bottle of this nail polish as a gift in a facebook group that I used to be apart of. I had not used this brand before and I was excited to give this a try. The only other fast drying nail polish brand I have used is Revlon.

This bottle is clear so that you can visually see this nail colour within it. The colour I was given is Coral. This shade is a bright orange colour. It's vibrant and fresh. I instantly fell in love with this colour. This brush has full bristles slightly curved tip . It performs beautifully when applying nail colour. Consistency of this polish is unusually uneven in thickness.

On first application it dries within sixty seconds leaving a streaky backdrop. Second application it left quite a streaky mess. Third layer of polish I managed to get a good even coat. This polish lasted on me for about a day and it began to chip easily.

It's affordably priced. One bottle lasted me up to six months . I wasn't happy with how long it lasted on my nails. I like it to last me at least a weeks wear.

Yeah a top coat might make it hold a bit longer .

I just got this in the vault Macs, hopefully with a top coat it might last longer

Hot mess

Like others before me I got this pallette in the incredible eyes box. I absolutely love eye shadow palettes their in my top five make up favourites. I discovered mellow through beauty review and have seen this company develop its make up range over the last year.

The pallette itself is made of cardboard. It has a small mirror which looks kind of odd because it's rather small. There's fourteen shades in this pallette. The first six nude colours are mix of shimmer and mattes . Their great for a base and highlighting inner corner. The next five shades are great for deepining the transition shade. The last three would be great for smoky eye looks. I found these shadows were quite chalky when swatched. The blush is surprisingly pigmented. The brow powder was far too light for me.

The brush provided did do a great job at blending these eye shadows. I did get a half a days wear out of them. Every shade is buildable. The fall out behind makes it a bit messy. In comparison to the mellow single shadows I was a little bit disapointed with it . The singles were way better than this.

I wouldn't go out and repurchase this one . I see it's highly reviewed but I just have to disagree with everyone. Even though it wasn't a good result I am still keen to try more mellow products out.

Tips: Try wetting your brush might help these eye shadows last longer

A'kin Brightening Rosehip Oil with Vitamin C Review

The Good Oil? The Great Oil!

I've yet to fall in love with an oil. Most of the time I've felt rather ho-hum about them. They're fine. They moisturise my skin. But do I notice a difference? Not really. That doesn't stop me from trying new oils though - and the A'Kin Rosehip Oil with Vitamin C was intriguing to say the least.

The packaging is pretty standard for an oil - a dark bottle, great to keep the sun off the product. A dropper, which delivered exactly the amount I needed (three to four drops).

The oil is a yellowy gold colour and a little thick. It claims to be non-greasy and quick to absorb, however I erred on the side of caution initially and only applied it at night after cleansing and toning, and before moisturising. We can tick the non-greasy and quick to absorb boxes. No issues there. My skin didn't feel tacky in the slightest. Once I felt comfortable using this at night I used it during my morning routine as well and found my skin felt so fresh and dewy during the day - and it didn't effect makeup application either - which is always good.

So did it do anything? First of all - no breakouts. Usually when using a Vitamin C product my skin goes nuts, not in this case. I feel like the lines around my eyes and forehead look less prominent - yay! And my skin definitely has this renewed fresh look about it.

This might not be the cheapest oil on the market, but as far as I'm concerned it's the best. I've finally found the good oil! And it's great!

The best of the three

The conditioner packaging is equally as pretty as the rest of the range, so luxurious!!

I like that the lid is on the bottom, so it makes it easy to use. This is a super thick formula which I LOVE in a conditioner, almost masque like texture. One thing I did notice about this is a little did go a long way (and I have a tonnnnneeee of hair) After i rinsed the conditioner out I felt like their was only a few tangles BUT they were super easy to comb so it did an awesome job of putting moisture back into my super dry ends.

Overall I found this to be really moisturising, and left my hair smelling and feeling sooo good. I have used this a couple of times now and have found that I only need a little conditioner and only on my very ends otherwise it makes my hair a little heavy.

Tips: a little goes a long way
