REVIEW EXPERT

About Me I'm a fulltime working, mother of 4 beautiful babies. I love pampering myself and using gorgeous products, but time is always in such short supply in my house I have to make sure I set aside a little time each week to do something just for me. I love products that do what they promise and especially love products that are easy to use (think BB cream!). I'm really excited to trial new products and send feedback through to you, and hopefully fall in love with some more gorgeous 'beauty tools' :)

Absolutely flawless

I stumbled across this range purely by luck when my BFF won vouchers for the both of us. She is really into natural products and I was interested to see if it worked. I contacted Angela at cosimaskin.com to ask her advice and she pointed me in the direction of the flawless cream. I am eternally grateful she did. Jenna at OhNatural is the NZ stockist and she has been amazing with giving me advice on which products in the range to try next.

My skin is quite dry, and at the time I was suffering from the effects of work, 4 young children, sleepless nights and an ineffectual skincare regime. The Flawless range is marketed as a natural alternative to botox, so I was somewhat sceptical. Boy was I wrong!!!

This product is magic. It comes in a cool little tub where you press the top and the perfect amount of creamy goodness is dispensed, keeping everything clean, tidy and protected.

The cream itself has a lovely smell, not perfumed but really nice. It is a thick, pale buttery colour and just glides across the skin. You only need a really small amount so even though the range isn't the cheapest, it works out to be really cost effective.

They recommend applying the product and then waiting a couple minutes before touching your skin again to allow it time to tighten everything. It doesn't feel tight as in uncomfortable, but you do notice a slight 'lift' feeling.

The long-term benefits of this cream are incredible!!! My skin has never looked so amazing, my fine lines and wrinkles have completely disappeared and I look 10 years younger. I am an absolute devotee now.

Tips: Use in conjunction with the eyecream. I apply this every night just before bed underneath my night cream, and then again first thing in the morning under my daycream.

I still absolutely adore this product MrsRosie - they actually have 20% off at the moment if you order direct through the Cosima website. I am using a different range at the moment but as soon as hubby is back at work I am going back to this

I've recently been looking at purchasing this, just haven't committed. Although your review was done awhile ago now it is still really helpful thanks! Do/would you still use this product?

Best hair-tie EVER

I was weirdly excited to get on this trial team. Hair-ties are the bane of my existence; I can never find the one I want, the ones I do find are my 3yo bright purple pomp om ones, or the slack, stretched crap ones! So reading that these ones promise to be no-snag, no-slip hair-ties got me pretty amped.

My hair length is just below my shoulders but I have an absolute heap of it. It’s incredibly thick and awkward to manage. These hair-ties come in 2 different widths, with a great little strip of silicone on the inside to prevent snags.

The first time I tried these I only needs 2 loops to hold my hair in place. It was a bit of a strange feeling because all the other hair-ties I use I need to loop 700 times to get it tight enough to prevent the dreaded droop. I was super sceptical that the 2 loops would last more than a minute – it felt far too comfortable, too relaxed and no weird cat eyes so surely it would eventually drop?

Much to my amazement it stay put. No matter how much I move, how high or low I make my ponytail, it stays exactly where I first place it. And best of all – NO SNAGS!!! I have not had any hair pull out, no tears and a gorgeous ponytail right where it should be at the end of the day.

I will definitely be buying these in the future.

Tips: Hide them!!! My 14yo daughter has discovered them and wants to claim them as her own. She has bum-length thick hair and she adores them. Hide them in the last place little girls will look if you want to keep hold of them ;)

Having tried these for a while now, sadly my opinion has changed. The hair ties have grown slack and the silicon/rubber strip on the inside of the hair tie has all split and is now catching and snagging my hair. So disappointed!!

My New Fave!

I (as with the new Essano exfoliator) waited forever after seeing Essano tease this on Instagram to come out. Once I got my hands on it they haven't been happier! The first thing to love about this product is the really pretty packaging. The scent of the hand cream is amazing and fits in well with the rest of the range. The cream is white and had a nice thick texture. No runny thin cream here! Although the cream is thick and lush it sinks right into my skin nice and quickly and does not leave greasy residue. I can apply it at work and go straight back to typing and my fingers don't slide around the keyboard. My hands look great and supple and I can't love rosehip based products more!

Can't wait to try this one out, thanks for the recommendation :)

Yay! I'm so glad its a thick hand creme! I'm obsessed with the brand Essano, the skincare range has totally transformed my skin in 2014. Will have to get this for sure

I can't wait to try this it sounds awesome x

Skin Reparing Cream

This was one of those products that was in my prize pack that I won. I'm excited to share with you my results from using this full skincare system.

The packaging of this product comes in a frosted plastic bottle. It has a pump that squirts out the product easily. It comes out like thin drops. Shinny silver band around it.

Application suggests that you can use this either morning or night, or both choice is yours. Its like a cloudy white gel/cream. It smells like a sea mineral balm. When rubbed on your face it feels like a gel. It evaporates within minutes. Has a slight tingling sensation. Cooling feeling. No irritation at all for me.

I have used half of this bottle. I have been applying it in the mornings straight after a shower. I prefer to use the Manuka Doctor night cream solely on it's own at night.

My results after weeks of using this is that my skin on my face is smooth. No longer rough and dry. The lines under my eyes have reduced. No longer flaky. My problem area was my nose. I believe the use of the full skin care sytem with this product has helped repair my skin.

I use this every day religiously. Im normally dry as at this time of year. I haven't dried up once.

I tried this for the first time last night and it feels so nourishing - can't wait to see what results I get from it

Manuka Doctor Radiance Serum

Manuka Doctor has combined Bee Venom and Manuka Honey as base for their product lines. It's an interesting mix of Bee venom being used as an anti ageing ingredient in skin care products. When Manuka honey was discovered as having healing properties in it, it became more commonly used within the skincare industry.

Manuka Doctor Serum comes in a 30 ml bottle. A plastic bottle that has a pump to get the serum out of it. It's colour is cream with a shimmer to it. It reminds me of a skin highlighter cream. This serum has this floral fragrance thats mild but not over powering.

My skin type is dry. I have been using this serum for about a month. When I put it on my face my skin has this tingling sensation to it which slowly fades away as it dries. It's suggested on the bottle to massage over your face with sweeping motions.

My results with frequent use of this product were, smooth hydrated skin. My skin feels soft. It has illuminated my skin slightly. I wouldn't have an idea on cost as I won this in a prize pack from Beauty Review. You can find this product listed on the internet.

I love mud!!

There is something so decadent about mud masques, they make me feel like I am in total indulgence mode. I've been wanting to try this one for the longest time but unfortunately our supermarket doesn't stock it, so I was really excited to find this in the BRBB and tried it that night.

The tube is nice and simple with a click top lid, very easy to squeeze the product out, and I love that it sits on the lid so you can get every last bit out. It recommends you apply a thick layer to cleansed skin and wait 5-10minutes.

I LOVE to use this in the bath, I cleanse and exfoliate first, and dry my skin off before applying a thick layer all over. Even though I do apply it quick thickly, I don't need to use a lot of product to get decent coverage which makes it really cost-effective. The mud is quite thick, but coats the skin beautifully - it starts off as a gorgeous dark khaki colour, which lightens when dry so it's easy to tell when it's ready to be removed. It does make your skin feel really tight when it's dried, but that's one of the great things about mud masques right?!

The first time I applied it I was stunned - I looked at myself in the mirror to check it was all dry and all I could see were these funny looking dark spots across my nose and T-Zone - weird!!! Obviously it was the product clearing out my pores, so while it looked gross, it was kind of satisfying seeing such visible results of it cleansing my skin. I've been using this twice a week since receiving it and my skin looks amazing.

The only issue I have with this is that it makes me cry - literally. There's something in it that makes my eyes water like crazy until it's dried out. It hasn't put me off it at all, and if anything it just ensures I use that time relaxing with my eyes closed and enjoying the moment.

Tips: Use in a well ventilated area until dry :)

Was this review useful to you? Yes No

Isn't it strange?! It's a lot better if I apply it when I'm not in the bath so I'm guessing it's the steam that makes it worse. Small price to pay though huh? :)

This makes my eyes water like crazy too! Glad i'm not the only one.

Thinnest liquid liner you will ever find!

Recently I have been obsessed with the pen type liquid liners, I really wish they had these available ten years ago so I didn't have to spend 30 minutes trying to perfect a Simple line going across my eyelids, this creation is one of the best!

When I saw this in the Vault it was a must have and I was very interested to see what an ultra thin liquid liner looked like. There had been one I had brought last year that said the exact same thing but it looked just like a regular liquid pen liner, but when this came I was so happy and excited to use it, it was so small and cute!!

You get a great amount of control, and the felt tip is so small and precise that you can use it to draw the smallest of details anywhere. The staying power is incredible, it stays there the whole time without budging and it dries quickly once applied. The only let down for me was it wasnt very dark, it states that it's black but it's an off black, and I need to follow over it with my liquid liner if I'm wanting a darker line. Other than that it's a perfect pen, I hope they make the pigment darker then I will buy a box of these!

Great review! Can't wait to try the one from my BRBB now - sounds perfect :)

A sweet treat for your hair!

I'm a wee bit fussy about what I put on my hair so when my hairdresser asked if I'd like bit of oil to finish my natural instinct was no.

But by the time I'd thought it through my hairdresser had the oil in her hands and the smell of lollies filled the hair. Oh, well why not?

So for the next 24 hours my hair felt silky smooth - it felt like the hair in the glossy magazines looked like they'd feel. And the smell - it's a sweet, yummy smell, with a hint of coconut. Well the next day I was back in the salon to buy my own bottle.

The bottle is glass and screams luxury, it comes in a gold box. The pump top is sturdy and deposits just the right amount for dry hair. For wet hair I use two pumps.

This product claims to reconstruct hair - and I think it does - my thick, somewhat unruly hair is easier to manage and feels lighter. Which after putting an oil on you wouldn't think it would.

My hair is easier to style, and I find it's great to use to eliminate frizzies on a hot day.

I'm just about through my first bottle, it's lasted 5 months, so for $40 it's a bargain!

Tips: Use on soaking wet hair to seal your ends.

This sounds incredible - I always struggle with finding an oil that works on my hair - it always seems to just end up greasy. Sounds like I need to give this product a try

Found My Holy Grail Serum

I was also lovingly gifted this from a wonderful BR member, you know you are you lovely you xxx

I had heard about this serum too and then when one arrived as a surprise I was totally gobsmacked and I had a little cry.

This has to be the most amazing serum I have ever tried and believe me, this is no exaggeration, I have tried so many but none that have given me the results that this serum has.

I love the bottle as it has a dropper to get the product out which is great because you can really control how much of it comes out and believe me, this stuff is liquid gold and you don't want to use more than you need to.

I was recommended to use two tiny drops onto finger tips and then massage into my skin. Now this is where it gets interesting. The formula is really different to the serums I've tried in the past, its really thin, but thick at the same time. It also goes on quite wet and you think you've applied way too much product, but it sinks into your skin and you massage it until the product is pretty much dry. It feels so good and it really gave me fantastic results.

I struggle with blemishes and acne and I have had really good compliments since using this serum and have just purchased a bottle of my own, and can't wait to carry on using it as my gifted bottle has since been used up.

You have totally got to try this serum, it may just change your life, it did for me.

Tips: If you are on a budget like me, I was a bit freaked out at the price, then maybe try applying just one drop. If you don't have nasty angry blemishes, then you could get away with just the one, but if you're like me with not so good skin (well its way better now) then you will probably need those two drops. Only downside is that the bottle doesn't last very long as I use it morning and night.

Was this review useful to you? Yes No

1mamabear - great tip hun, I will give that a go. It doesn't seem to last very long does it. And with the price, it would certainly be a great idea so I don't use up as much xx

I am in love with this as well - I find applying it straight after my toner helps to spread it fully before it absorbs and means I'm using less.

Awww thanks so much hun, it really is an amazing product lol. I love the fact that it absorbs fast and you don't have to use much. The downside is that it really doesn't last that long when using morning and night. Wish they had a bigger bottle lol

Great review! It really is an awesome serum isn't it. I still can't get over how it absorbs so fast. I do wish it was more affordable though.

WOW!

I have never used a Serum or a dropper applicator for anything before. I was lucky enough to be gifted a bottle of Oxygen Ultimate Botanical Serum from a fellow BR Member :-) x

Oxygen Ultimate Botanical Serum comes in nice white and gold box packaging (ha ha not blue and black) and the Serum itself is in a 20ml brown bottle with a glass dropper for application.

As per instructions, I use two drops of this creamy, white liquid gold per application, twice a day. I place the drops into the palm of my hand and then rub into my face. Oxygen Ultimate Botanical Serum absorbs very fast in to my skin and feels as though I am doing something healthy and kind for my face.

It's hard to explain the Serum texture but it squeezes out of the dropper thinly. Once there is contact with your skin and as you are rubbing the Serum in, it is actually of a thick consistency. The Serum also has a natural, light vanilla scent.

Using Oxygen Ultimate Botanical Serum twice a day, the product is used up quite fast. I am on my second bottle now and have chosen to use only once a day (at night). Throughout summer, I spent a lot of time in the sun and my skin would drink this Serum up and feel like a million dollars. When I use Oxygen Ultimate Botanical Serum I have next to no breakouts, my skin feels super smooth and looks radiant. I have never experienced anything like it.

Tips: If you ever get the chance to try this product, take it.

I'm in love with this too - and had the same problem describing the consistency - thick but runny but creamy but fluffy.... :)
