REVIEW EXPERT

About Me Hi all, I'm a Mummy to three adorable children (of course I have to say that, they're mine lol) aged 12, 10,(boys) and 8 (girl). I work for a Logging Truck company and being the only female working there, its hard to maintain some kind of femininity so love to come on here and get some inspiration lol. I love trying out new products, especially when I'm on the hunt for products for my pain in the butt skin type - super dry, and super sensitive arghhh lol.

My New Favourite Hair Colour

I was super lucky to get this trial from the lovely Beauty Review themselves - thanks lovelies xxx

I got the shade in 5.65 Chocolate Brown, usually I like to dye my hair with purple and black shades so was very excited to try something totally different.

Preparation was super easy, I just had to make sure my hair had not been washed that day as the hair dye doesn't stick to the hair very well. So far easy peasy.

Mixing - was pretty basic too, just needed to take the little anti-breakage serum and put this into the application bottle along with the hair dye as well. The instructions are so easy to follow, which is great if you don't like things too technical lol. Also the bottle was easy to use, just squeeze out as much as you need onto the hair.

Application - I got hubby to do the application as I'm a shocker when it comes to doing it myself, I tend to miss patches. He found it easy to work with, although he didn't like the gloves, found them too slippery and moved too often. Could be a male thing as I find them okay to use ha ha ha. He was going to go and get some rubber gloves and I told him no way, he had to use the gloves that came with the hair dye.

Rinsing - wow, I was actually amazed at the time it took to rinse the hair dye out. Usually I rinse it off in the shower and it takes an age, but this was so much quicker. When I could see no colour coming through after rinsing, I applied the repair sealer, which was fairly straight forward. The only thing I didn't like is the fact the tear part on the sachet was not that great and didn't come right off and had to get scissors which is a pain when you are already in the shower. Thank goodness for kiddies who ran to get them for me he he he.

Results - WOW, just WOW. I am in love with the colour so much, covered my grey perfectly and it looks like I just got it done at a Salon. Even hubby liked it and proceeded to tell me he preferred it to the black and purple I usually use. It felt so silky and smooth and looks very shiny and healthy. The colour on me is a little darker and comes out more a rich dark chocolate brown than a light chocolate brown which I am super happy with. My hair shade is usually a very dark brown, but before the hair dye was done it was a quarter grey and the rest dark brown/reddish.

Definitely would consider getting this in the future - I think this just maybe my holy grail hair dye.

It also came with a 3 week conditioner which I will update you with in 3 weeks time and let you know about how well the colour is holding.

Minty Goodness

I love Crazy Rumors Lip Balms, I have these in a couple of flavours.

Okay, so as far as the tube it comes in, I'm not going to get you all excited, its just a standard lipbalm tube lol.

As for the texture, wow, it is so creamy and silky smooth, I can't stop rubbing my lips together. Its like taking a piece of satin and then wiping it on your lips, so good.

The fragrance/scent - is nice, I love anything mint and chocolate, its not over powering though which is a shame as I love it really minty and chocolatey, but this is a good thing for those that don't like it too strong. If you are expecting like a peppermint hershey's taste, sadly I will have to disappoint you. Although it smells great, it does smell like its an added flavour and not a pure flavour. That makes sense in my head ha ha ha.

Does it moisturise and hydrate my lips? Yes definitely and it doesn't rub off quickly like some lipbalms can. It has good staying power and I find I don't need to re-apply it all the time.

The formula is medium in the respect of it not being thick and gluggy but not watery and thin (hope that makes sense).

Would I buy this again? Yes although I would probably try a different flavour just because I get bored easy ha ha ha.

A'kin Brightening Rosehip Oil with Vitamin C Review

In a Nut Shell - Liquid Gold!

I want to first start off by saying a massive THANK YOU to Beauty Review for the opportunity to trial this product and giving us 3 weeks to trial it. I truly believe I wouldn't have seen the results that I am seeing now if it were only for a week.

It comes in the standard bottle with a glass dripper. What I love about this specific dropper though is that it has a slight curve at the bottom which stops too much product from coming out and also giving you the opportunity to apply it straight to your face, although I prefer to apply to fingers instead.

The directions say to massage 3-4 drops onto clean dry skin and apply twice a day. I did this in the morning and before bedtime using two fingers on both sides of the face and in circular movements.

The actual fragrance is what you would usually expect when using Rosehip oil, its not overpowering but doesn't really have a specific scent to describe it if that makes sense. I thought there would have been maybe a slight orange scent to it with the Vitamin C added in (ha ha ha I just always assume orange when thinking of Vitamin C lol). It is not an unpleasant scent either, so no worries about that.

I have been using this product everyday without fail and have noticed a few big differences in my skin - it is more clear, has a glow to it, so much more smoother than normal and even hubby has noticed how good my skin is looking. My makeup looks so much better and blends in beautifully. I can only credit these results to the A'kin Brightening Rosehip Oil with Vitamin C and nothing else.

Would I buy this in the future? Most definitely!! The price tag is a bit on the highish side but hey you get what you pay for and you would definitely be happy with this product. I can't wait to see the final results when I have finished the bottle.

Tips: Make sure you allow to sink into your skin and dry before applying your makeup as it may make your makeup look oily. By allowing it to dry, it will give your makeup a slight dewy appearance but without the oily look.

Bonus - it is not a greasy oil either so no worries there either!

Hey lovely, no I haven't needed to use a moisturiser with this and I have really dry skin. Hope that helps x

Do you use the oil as well as a normal moisturiser?

Love my Apple Spice balm!

I bought this Apple Spice flavoured balm, as I only use natural lipbalms that are nurturing to the lips, and love interesting and exotic flavours. I LOVE the smell/taste (may not be everyones cup of tea though), reminds of an apple pie by a certain popular fast food chain ;)

This lipbalm WORKS. Unlike some lipbalms which begin a cycle of drying your lips out, Crazy Rumors really does moisturise and smooth your lips. It works well under lipstick too, not too greasy. I managed to convince my husband to try it, which has got to be the sign of a good lip balm too ;) The smell lingers just long enough but not over powering. Crazy Rumors are cruelty-free too, which is a big plus.

Tips: They have a great range of flavours available, check out Cotton on Body stores here, or look online. I paid around $5 to get one shipped from USA which is pretty standard for a lipbalm.

Brunette, but still a bombshell :P

In my experience, fake tanners are either really chemically things that leave skin stained slightly orange, or miracle workers. This is very definitely a miracle working version.

All I do is apply a layer of Bombshell - which is tinted, so even if I’m not paying that much attention is easy to use, rub it in, and let it do it’s thing. It smells gorgeously tropical and leaves me with a natural looking tan on silky, scented skin. I even use this on my face every now and then with no ill effects. It’s as if this was made exactly for people like me - pale, wanting a bit of glow, but not wanting to damage skin to be able to look sun-kissed.

If only it was a bit warmer in my house and I could apply this all year round for that summer glow!

Tips: You can usually order samples on the Ethique site - start there, perhaps?

Ooooh loving the sound of this, had my eye on it for a while now. I think I actually got one in the vault but got an email to say it had sold out due to popularity lol. I love the fact you said its great for pale but not chemically. A definite try

Nice cleansing oil

I am lucky enough to got this trial and thank you very much BR for opportunity. This is first product I has been tried from this brand. I saw this brand in supermarket shelves but didn't bother to look. But now I'all try some other products from this line.

Packaging wise is nice tall, compact and green bottle. Easy during travel. Simple brand says kind to skin, hydrating cleansing oil.... I would say not really if you have very sensitive skin and I doesn't hydrating at all. I would say this great product for oil skin. Let's me tell you about my skin. I have combination skin but I got pregnant ( got sensitive skin specially on my cheek bc of pregnancy) and got dry skin bc poor skin care routines. I start again my routine so it'll back soon my combination skin. Apart from This great product.

Product says dissolves makeup and no greasy resides that's absulately right. It's dissolves every product on my face without to much efforts. I really like this product. Simple cleansing oil has no artificial perfume or colour and has multi - vitamins. Hope this brand introduced for different skin type would be great. Specially dry skin.

Would not recommend for dry skin.

Tips: If you have dry skin than use good hydrating and rich moisturiser.

It's great product for removing makeup to be honest. Yes it's dry out my skin. I have combination skin but recently get changed bc of my pregnancy.

Just saw you mention not recommended for dry skin, why is that? Did it dry your skin out? I was all set to put this on my wishlist and then I saw your comment lol.

The Perfect Cleanser

For the last year I have been struggling with finding a cleanser that was right for my skin due to a number of products causing irritation. I had given up for a while and just used water until I was sent and invitation to trial the Hydrating Cleansing Oil by Simple.

My first thoughts were : How can an oil possibly be applied, cleanse and be washed off without leaving residue or grease behind? Little did I know this was going to prove me wrong.

Firstly this tall but slim designed bottle has a safety cap under the lid, so remove that to begin. I used this twice daily. Morning and Night. Apply a couple of drops onto the palmy of your hand and then simply rub it all over your face and neck. Then simply rinse off in warm water. Simple right?!

This no fuss cleanser certainly did suprise me. It left my skin feeling super hydrated and non greasy. It was really quick to use and it did a top job. When I first used this at night time to get my makeup off. I thought no way was this going to remove it all. Wrong again - It removed everything, foundation right down to mascara/ Perfectly, it even got all of my foundation and concealer out of my deep pores. I have never had a product that has achieved that before. Oh and as for the mascara - all removed. It is gentle on the eyes as well which is good because there's nothing worse that burning stinging eyes. As for the worry regarding oily during the day, I never encountered a problem with that. The cleanser also has no irritants or scent to it which is great for us sensitive girls!

A little amount of product goes a long way. I do see this bottle lasting a decent amount of time. Well worth $11.99.

This is the first product I have used by Simple but It wont be the last. I'm hooked!

Thanks for taking my time to read my review @Mumof3munchkins and @Macs. I love receiving your feedback :) This is such a amazing cleanser and you both need it in your life! :)

Great review hun, I wasn't sure this would be the product for me, but after reading your thoughts on it, I think I really need to try this for myself especially with such a small price tag.

I need to try this out. My micellar waters almost finished.

I cant fault this product its literally incredible

There are no words to explain how this product saved my skin. It is my holy grail and i will not be changing that for quite so while. I use this after every shower and leave it to soak in and treat my dry patches. Its the perfect moisturiser for eczema as long as you are not allergic to bees. a little goes a long way, the small jar lasted me approx 6 months and like i said i used it after every shower so i think it is well worth the investment. I just purchased my second jar and i can't wait to have this back in my life again! Its an absolute lifesaver! I could honestly go on all day about this but i'll leave it here :)

Magic?!? Maybe not

I was so excited to receive another trial invite and so quickly on a Saturday morning I accepted to review this product. I initially wasn't that sure what I would use this self proclaimed 'all-purpose cream' for. I am committed to doing an excellent review for BR but I'm not about to burn myself for it!

When I ripped into the parcel from BR I was surprised to see the container was a bit smaller than I expected. It is just a plain white plastic jar. Quite practical but for the RRP of $62 I was expecting something a wee bit more fancy (although the one I received is a half size). There is some printing on the jar in blue and red. The overall effect is quite cheap to be brutally honest. But hey, what are you really after, fancy packaging or a great product.... for me both but I will forgive this packaging for now.

I took the lid off this and in my critical way I thought, I bet this product is going to stink. But I was pleasantly surprised that this didn't have a scent at all. Winter is coming... and with that my skin is just getting drier and drier. So the first thing I wanted to try this on was my cuticles. The product itself is quite hard and thick so I managed to dig a wee tiny bit out, half the size of a 10c piece, and it started to melt into my fingertip. When warmed up it feels and looks a bit like Vaseline (without the greasy-ness). I rubbed this onto my cuticles and had enough to rub into my palms too! I liked that it had the feeling of a dry oil, it didn't feel sticky or greasy as it was sinking in. So far I was very impressed. After a good first impression I hopped onto the Egyptian Magic website. From here I found you can use it as a burn cream, eye gel, hair conditioner, lip balm, makeup primer, hydrating face mask, cracked heels, and a vaginal moisturiser (wtf?). So after researching I thought I would test a few more things. As a lip balm this is great. A little goes a long way and it makes my lips moisturised for a long time. I tried this in my hair as a treatment. It made it feel really greasy when applied, but I love that I can rub the excess into my hands rather than going to wash them. I left it in for a while and then shampoo'd it out. It left my hair really nice and detangled, but it did feel a bit weighed down. As a heel balm this is quite nice, but as it becomes oily I feel like it soaked into my socks more than into my heels.

Would I buy this again? Maybe. I feel like I have individual products that do all these things well. BUT if I wasn't a product junkie I think this would be great to have everything in one product, and also great to have one pottle to take travelling.

Great review as always Kirsty. Definitely keen to see what the hype is about. The price tag kind of puts me off though. Will have to use all my other products up first or sell a few to pay for it ha ha ha

Hehehe Kirsty.

haha that was my reaction too Sandy! ... Personally don't feel the need :P

I've been interested in reading the reviews on this product. Great review as always hun :-) I did however giggle at the fact that you can use it as a vaginal moisturiser, I honestly didn't know women done that?!? Do I live under a rock?? Hehehe

Sounds interesting! Thank I'm like you and will sick to purpose products

Love Herbalism

I put off buying this for ages maybe due to the fact it looked like something that had come out of someones nose lol. But I was lucky enough to receive this as part of a gift awhile ago and must say was pleasantly surprised.

It's great for dry, sensitive skin and the pot I find is quite generous as you don't need a whole lot. The fact it comes in a user friendly pot which is also recyclable and able to be traded in for a free mask once you have 5 pots is even better.

It doesn't really have much of a smell like most of the Lush products do, well if it does, I can't really smell it lol. It's like a bitty dough type texture and the only down side to this is that it can be a little hard to spread on your face without making a mess, so I recommend doing it over a sink. I was concerned the green may stain my face but it doesn't which is great because I don't really want to look like The Grinch going out my door.

It cleanses really well and it doesn't leave my skin red or itchy, it leaves it feeling fresh, clean and smooth once it has been washed off.

Tips: I recommend using a hot cloth after washing off to remove any residue left behind.

@Designer-mic - yep it is more for those with oily skin which is why I found it strange that it worked well for my dry skin. It really is good for breakouts though. Congrats on your pregnancy and would love to know whether it worked for you :-)

Funny I just got recommend this for problem skin/ oily skin as i have broken out since pregnant but you say its good for dry skin. Will be interesting to see how it goes for me. :)
