Great Fast Colour

I was given a bottle of this nail polish as a gift in a facebook group that I used to be apart of. I had not used this brand before and I was excited to give this a try. The only other fast drying nail polish brand I have used is Revlon.

This bottle is clear so that you can visually see this nail colour within it. The colour I was given is Coral. This shade is a bright orange colour. It's vibrant and fresh. I instantly fell in love with this colour. This brush has full bristles slightly curved tip . It performs beautifully when applying nail colour. Consistency of this polish is unusually uneven in thickness.

On first application it dries within sixty seconds leaving a streaky backdrop. Second application it left quite a streaky mess. Third layer of polish I managed to get a good even coat. This polish lasted on me for about a day and it began to chip easily.

It's affordably priced. One bottle lasted me up to six months . I wasn't happy with how long it lasted on my nails. I like it to last me at least a weeks wear.

Yeah a top coat might make it hold a bit longer .

I just got this in the vault Macs, hopefully with a top coat it might last longer

Hot mess

Like others before me I got this pallette in the incredible eyes box. I absolutely love eye shadow palettes their in my top five make up favourites. I discovered mellow through beauty review and have seen this company develop its make up range over the last year.

The pallette itself is made of cardboard. It has a small mirror which looks kind of odd because it's rather small. There's fourteen shades in this pallette. The first six nude colours are mix of shimmer and mattes . Their great for a base and highlighting inner corner. The next five shades are great for deepining the transition shade. The last three would be great for smoky eye looks. I found these shadows were quite chalky when swatched. The blush is surprisingly pigmented. The brow powder was far too light for me.

The brush provided did do a great job at blending these eye shadows. I did get a half a days wear out of them. Every shade is buildable. The fall out behind makes it a bit messy. In comparison to the mellow single shadows I was a little bit disapointed with it . The singles were way better than this.

I wouldn't go out and repurchase this one . I see it's highly reviewed but I just have to disagree with everyone. Even though it wasn't a good result I am still keen to try more mellow products out.

Tips: Try wetting your brush might help these eye shadows last longer

The singles were way better than this one Kim.

Good review Macs, I like the singles in this range

Great for sensitive eyes - as gentle as it says!

When I was given the chance to trial this, I jumped at the chance. I have quite sensitive skin on my eyes and love wearing eye makeup, I often find it hard to find a good makeup remover that doesn't irritate but is also effective, especially at a reasonable price. I've used Simple products before and have always found them great value for money and they've never caused me any irritation, and again this product ticked all the boxes for me.

One thing that initially caused me a bit of confusion is that its a dual-phase makeup remover (so shake it up before using) but is ONLY FOR EYES, and not for lips! I've used dual-phase removers in the past but they've always been both for eyes and lips, so I very nearly made a bad mistake with this one!

I put this to the test several times with very heavy eye makeup, intentionally using some of my most heavy-duty products to really see if it would work. I can be lazy when it comes to removing makeup and like to get the job done in two quick swipes, I don't want to have to stand there rubbing my eyes raw, so I was pleased that every time I used the Simple remover, it quickly and effectively removed all traces of makeup, no scrubbing required and no panda eyes left!

I was impressed with the makeup remover, and would definitely consider buying in future, especially since it is such a good price. Most importantly, my eyes felt fine afterwards, no itching, no stinging and no dryness or redness on my skin. Thanks BR for the chance to be on a trial team!

Tips: Shake before use, use on eyes only, and READ the instructions!

Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub Review

Invigorating Salty Scrub

During Christmas my partner and children hand picked some lush for my christmas present. This scrub was in there. I have never noticed this scrub before . I go into lush often , this one never jumped out at me. My skin is dry especially my legs. I was looking forward to seeing what this scrub was like.

I got my scrub in a 120 gram tub. Tubs sturdy and I like that they can be swapped for a mask. I wish more stores would do that. Consistency of this scrub is smooth but coarse . It's refined well. It smells like a salty ocean in a tub.

I like to exfoliate my legs with this scrub. It smooths out easily. It's not crumbly and doesn't fall out everywhere like other scrubs I've used. Afterwards my legs feel smooth and soft. On another ocassion I tried it on my face. It exfoliated well for me.

This was my first body and scrub combo I've tried from Lush. It's lasted me three months and counting. That is exfoliating my body once a week. I think there is good value for money with this one. It ticked all the boxes for me , I would happily buy this one .

It reminds of fresh sea water. Actually I dunno how they got that scent but it's amazing.

Excellent value for money Macs! Great view. Does this scrub have a scent? Lush products always have so many interesting smells when you walk in the door

L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Shampoo Review

Shampoo

I received this product as part of the Extraordinary Clay range for a BR Trial. As like the other products, it's a standard bottle of shampoo (like others from their elvive range) which is solid and you get 250ml of product. The product also smells the same as all the rest which is a clean refreshing smell which isn't too strong.

The shampoo feels a bit thicker than other shampoos I've used which feels really nice through my hair. The shampoo makes my hair feel really clean & followed with the conditioner my hair is really soft and smooth.

The results I had from using the whole range were really good & lasted a good 3 days!

I quite like is as part of the whole range, I'm not sue what results you'd get using it with other products thiugh :)

Sounds excellent. I'm curious about this range.

Really impressive hair care system!

First of all, I am so grateful that I was chosen to review these products. Thanks so much to the Beauty Review team for sending them out!!

This system worked really well together. I have enjoyed using them so much and have already recommended them to people, especially the shampoo and conditioner. I think that L'Oreal really nailed it with these!

The shampoo is definitely among the best I have ever used because it is such a deep cleaning formula, and it doesn't dry out my hair. It foams up so well which makes it quick and easy to wash my hair and get on with my day.

The conditioning balm is, in my opinion, the best part of the system. It's almost like a thick treatment rather than a standard conditioner which is really helpful for damaged hair like mine. For example my hair is bleached so it's quite dry, and it needs something thick and nourishing like this conditioner. It's also important to condition your hair after shampooing it to help restore the oils in your hair so it doesn't become more damaged due to it not being protected by the oils. This is especially important with this shampoo because while the shampoo doesn't dry out my hair, it could do if I only used the shampoo without the conditioner because of how deep it cleans.

The strength potion was my least favourite part of the system, but it definitely wasn't bad. On my hair I didn't see much of a difference apart from the initial application, where it made it look smoother for a while and then went back to normal. I feel like that can be done with any hair treatment which is why I wouldn't repurchase it, however my hair has been looking great because of the other two products so I do wonder if I stopped using those two and just used the strength potion, if I would notice a difference.

Overall I am extremely happy with these products, I will definitely repurchase the shampoo and conditioner, and maybe the strength potion depending how it works on it's own. I LOVE the shampoo and conditioner! I think I have even found my new holy grails :)

Tips: Use a few pumps of the shampoo, and then apply the conditioner and leave it on for a few minutes. Towel dry your hair and apply the strength potion, comb it though and let your hair air dry for best results.

Sounds good . My hair needs strength.

Skin rejuvenated and ready for the day

Thanks for selecting me to trial this product! I really liked the weightlessness of the serum and that it was lightly scented with a fresh clean smell. Only a small amount was required to achieve full coverage of my face and neck, and the hydration power was second to none.

My face is usually very dry and this serum made a noticeable difference very quickly and from the first application. I noticed my skin seemed not only hydrated, but freasher and brighter as well.

I did notice a slight filmy stickiness to my skin though, which didn't seem to resolve for the duration of the day. I attributed this to the spf15 additive as it felt like having a light weight sunscreen on.... without the smell.

My makeup also reacted with the serum and would cake up in little powdery balls which was a slight hassle, but I think that was more about the choice of foundation and finishing powder I use.

I liked the packaging was sophisticated and clean in appearance, not to busy with branding or logos. The pump top was great and easy to pump just the right amount rather than too much.

The size of the bottle is generous for the very small amount that is required per application, so this product is great value for money.

I have already recommended this serum to all my female work colleagues as it is that good. I would have no issue including this as a staple in my beauty routine!

Dr Lewinns Line Smoothing Complex High Potency Treatment Mask Review

A smoothing mask

I got this product from the “ It’s All About You” beauty box.

I’d never tried any Dr Lewinns products before so I was keen to try this one.

The mask comes in a tinfoil packet. It consists of two parts, the first covers the forehead and the second covers the nose and bottom part of the face. It unpeels from the backing strip and is easy to apply over the appropriate area. It is quite damp.

I left mine on for 40 minutes, which is longer than recommended, but I was finishing a book I was reading before getting in the bath. When I took off the mask, and it wasn’t sticky and didn’t pull my skin, some areas were quite red and hot. They calmed down quickly though.

After washing and drying my face, I thought it looked clean and very smooth and I feel that the mask did a great job. I was very impressed.

The big question is, would I pay $15 to buy another one? I probably would if I felt like pushing the boat out to pamper myself, but it isn’t something I would buy regularly, only due to the price though, as it is a lovely mask.

I gotta try these masks .

Best Brow Product Ever!

So ive used them all.... ELF, Elizabeth Arden, ABH, Billion Dollar Brows.....and I personally feel that this product beats them all! It's affordable, it's easy to use and best of all its long wearing! This is one of those products which proves makeup doesn't have to be expensive to be good. I've definitely found my 'go to' brow product and definitely recommend buying it.

Tips: I always use the underside of the lid to wipe off excess product from my brush and i always start filing in from the middle of my brow which ensures a more natural look.

I must try this

Absolute shine

They're not kidding when they say "let yourself shine". I bought Peach Goddess (a pink shift rose gold) and King Tut (golden bronze) from the Jeffree Star Cosmetics website for approximately $35 at the time of the exchange rate. It was relatively quick delivery and they arrived securely packaged.

The barbie doll pink compact is huge (but smaller than the Marc Jacobs Instamarc compacts) holding 15 grams of product which is double the size of a standard highlighter. Personally, highlighters don’t need to be this big especially if they’re pigmented.

The compact has a good quality mirror where I can see my entire face so I find that it’s perfect for travel despite being quite weighted and big. When comparing the 2 compacts I find that King Tut is difficult to open; it’s more rigid whereas Peach Goddess almost pops open. The King Tut pan is also not centred (i.e. the star point is not pointing at the mirror) whereas Peach Goddess is in perfect alignment.

The product has a buttery smooth consistency with very fine shimmers. I was worried it would look glittery but under the light both shades give a very strong sheen almost shiny (and unfortunately almost greasy for oily skinned beauties).

I really wanted to love these highlighters but unfortunately they’re not my favourite. When using a light hand, Peach Goddess is a buildable highlighter that is not overly pigmented. I can see a lovely pink shift on my cheekbones but over the next few hours the pigment is gone and I’m left with a sheen which by the end of the day it just looks like too much shine.

King Tut is beautifully pigmented and you can easily look like the gold lady on Guardians of the Galaxy 2. If not blended properly it can emphasise the texture of your skin but also look quite stark under lights. I find this performs better than Peach Goddess but it’s still quite shiny on my skin by the end of the day.

I think these would be fantastic for a night out where you want that shiny wet look but I won’t be repurchasing anymore from that range. I prefer a highlighter that stays in place and gives me a glow as opposed to shine.

Tips: I use a fan brush to distribute what eventually will look like shine over the top of another highlight that I know will stay in place.

Ahh only three stars from the highlighter queen? I'll be giving these a miss then :D :D

Ah I've been curious about these highlighters . Oh if they were cheaper I would try one.
