Holy Hydration!

I was excited to get on this trial as my skin is super dry and dull at the moment. I have flakey skin on my cheeks and especially around my nose. It is also quite sensitive. The mask comes in an attractive foil packet and you simply tear the top off to remove it. It is soaked in serum, lots of product which I liked. I did a patch test first and put a little bit of serum on my jaw to make sure it didn't burn my skin. No issues at all so I then applied the tissue side to my face and peeled off the blue layer. Adjusted so it sat properly then sat back and relaxed for 15 minutes. It felt very cooling and had a subtle fresh scent.

I found it was easy to apply and the holes actually lined up to my face. When the time was up I gently peeled it off, there was a lot of serum left on my face so I massaged it in and any leftover went on my neck. It did not leave any sticky feeling at all which was great and boy did my skin feel soft!

The next morning my skin was still baby soft and had a wonderful glow. I loved using this mask and feel it is amazing for dry skin. I would definately use this again and think this is a winner from Garnier. Huge thumbs up from me.

Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil

Ok, I am going to be honest here, when I first received the oil I was excited, yes, but a little dubious about whether this would be another beauty product that I would use for a week then forget about. I then read about this product online and I still wasn't sold until I tried it. It really is amazing!

Firstly this isn't your typical oil as it absorbs into the skin almost as soon as you apply it. I have used oils in the past but this one really is much nicer, so much so that even my husband who hates oils (and most creams) loves this product. It feels so soft and leaves your skin feeling nourished and glowing.

About four drops rubbed into your hands and applied to your face is all you need so although this product is a bit pricey it will last for ages. It is also filled with quality ingredients like rosehip and evening primrose oil so it is worth the price.

The thing that I love most about this oil is that it perfectly complements the day and night creams so you can create a custom facial depending on your skin's needs. Super dry skin, then add more oil, simple!

The packaging is attractive and the dropper bottle easy to use. I found 3-4 drops worked well when using this product alone or 1-2 drops in the night cream and 1 drop in the day cream.

I have normal to combination skin and found this oil to work wonderfully well. I feel like my skin is brighter and in better condition since starting to use the oil. I actually look forward to my nighttime routine of mixing my oil into my Linden Leave night cream so I would say this is one oil you need to try!

Tips: Use this oil in your moisturiser to transform it into a luxury facial treat!

Eye of the Dragon

I got his product in a Beauty Box purchase and was really pleased as I was due to buy a new eye creme. I love the cute round container with the push top to disperse the product. The product is a muddy colour with no scent and a foamy texture. The product feels really cool on your skin and as such seems to eliminate puffiness around the eyes quite quickly which I really liked and absorbed into my skin really quickly with just a few lights pats around the eye area. I have used for 3 weeks now and unfortunately the push top does not seem to be working properly so I have had to undo the top to access the product. I am finding my eye area is looking much better as I continue to use and the very fine lines are definately less noticable. Is this my favourite product -possibly not but for the price I would probably buy again.

Tips: Little pats around the eye area -no need to use a lot.

Yes I had used a DeWynns product with it prior but must admit took me a while to work out first time.

That push top is an interesting concept isn't it???

Sally Hansen Colour Therapy Nail Polish Review

Good non chip polish

I've been trialling Chai on Life and Red-y to Glow, the amazing top coat and also a gentle Sally Hansen oil. These have been great to trial because I really enjoy having statement nails but often have problems with my nails becoming brittle and the polish chipping off too easily. Well those aren't worries with these new Sally Hansen polishes. My nails have been slowly growing out healthier and less brittle after just two weeks use (2 applications of colour with a few days of just the oil between).

The colours are cute with Chai on Life being a very neutral beige tone, great for the office, and Red-y to Glow being a bright red that builds into a deep dark red with increasing layers of polish. The formulas are a bit strong scented, but not as chemically smelling as other polishes I've tried. It's also quite a thin formula, going on in very light layers. This means that I end up applying 3 thin layers instead of the recommended 2, just to built the colour I like, and I find if I apply the polish thicker it takes a long time to dry.

The shape of the brushes are amazing, only needing 2 swipes at my bigger nails and only one for my pinkies. The bristles are of sturdy material so they don't bend all over the place. However, given the wide end, the wand is quite wide also and I keep worrying about getting it back into the bottle without permanently bending the bristles out of place, or accidentally knocking the bottle over when not holding it.

This polish doesn't chip for days!!! I've had supposedly great polish before, chip resistant and all that jazz, but none have actually walked the walk. These do. Each application it's taken around 4 days before the first chip. On maybe the 3rd day the polish does recede from the tips of my nails slightly, but nothing noticeable by the casual observer.

Tips: Use thinner layers of polish, they dry faster. Then do 3 rather than 2 layers of colour.

Sally Hansen Colour Therapy Nail Polish Review

Oil - Nice consistency. As per instructions I applied on the cuticles as well as nails every day for a week and massaged them. After just a day I could feel a difference on my nails. They were looking healthier. After a week the nails were a nice pink with a healthy glow. I have a problem with my cuticles with the skin peeling off. While I was rubbing the oil, I had no more issues with skin peeling. But a day after I stopped applying the oil the skin started peeling off again.

Top Coat - It did what a top coat is supposed to do. Couldn't make out the difference between this top coat and the others I normally use. It worked and I would use it again.

Nail Polish - I got a couple of other friends to try the two shades along with me. They found the pink too thick but loved the silver. I liked both shades. Both lasted around 10 days with the top coat on.

Primrose & Proper - A nice shade for day time. Nice consistency. What I liked about it was, having an olive coloured skin, not every matt pink looks good on me. But this one did.

Therapewter - A nice shade for day and night. I loved this colour. Silver is my weakness and this one is just awesome. Both a single or double shades look good. I will definitely be buying this.

Essano Body Wash Review

bliss, bliss, BLISS

I was very fortunate to be selected to trial this beautiful shower gel (thanks BR!!!) Essano products have been really growing on me and this is another great product.

I Love the big 445ml bottle, its dark brown and looks like those old medicine bottles (or is it just me?) it has a plain and easy to read label. I love how this has a pump top lid, so easy in the shower with slippery hands no need to shake, squeeze and bash the other end of the bottle to get the product out. The scent I received is ‘bliss’- and yes it really is.

The clear shower gel has a thickish consistency and lathers up nicely on my shower puff. As soon as I pump 4-5 pumps out I get a real paw paw fruity kick, (it also has coconut and frangipani) its sweet, it’s fruity and it’s perfectly balanced and seriously I wanted to drink it.

I smoosh it round and round my body wishing the scent was just a tad stronger like it was when it first comes out of the bottle. I love how this makes my skin feel after I wash the suds away, clean and refreshed without feeling stripped- great for us dry skinned lasses.

Since its winter I have been a big sook and won’t moisturise after my night time shower cold lotion on warm body aint my idea of ‘unwinding and relaxing’ anyway… I can wake up in the morning and my skin isn’t too bad, it’s not itchy or looks scaly. So I think I will carry on being a bit lazy through winter.

I will be definitely repurchasing this it smells amazing leaves me feeling clean and fresh, and lets me be lazy. I also love how Essano products are cruelty free and contain natural ingredients. Another reason to love this product.

Wand Fail!

I bought a tube of Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara as I'd heard so many good things about it; so many people were raving about it, that it was their Holy Grail mascara, that it was the best mascara ever, etc., so I just had to see if it was really worth the hype.

The sleek black tube looks very elegant with the gold writing and the Eye of Horus logo on the lid. The mascara wand is fairly long, with an hourglass shaped brush and short, stiff bristles.

Personally, I don't like the shape of the wand and find it really difficult to do the lashes in the inner corners of my eyes.  I end up either sticking the wand in my eye or else I get mascara on my eyelid just above my lash line (or both, wand in eye and mascara on eyelid)!  The consistency and formula of the mascara is nothing spectacular either.  Yes, it coats individual lashes well but takes a few coats (5 or 6) to actually lengthen lashes and make them look good but 9 times out of 10 I still end up with mascara above my lash line, on my eyelid! I don't have this problem with other mascara brands or wands.

One good thing about this mascara is that it doesn't clump.  Other than that, I feel that this an average mascara that has been seriously over-hyped.  Its highly unlikely that I'll be recommending it and definitely won't be purchasing it again.

Tips: Wash your old mascara wand from a different brand and swap it out for the one in this tube.

Amaze colour

I love this lippy, use it at any opportunity I get! It lasts on your lips too so you don't have to constantly top up!

Tips: Apply a slightly thicker layer for a darker colour, also once a week give your lips a good exfoliation for a smooth application of any lipstick :)

Smooth, Strong... Satin.

Unfortunately, this isn't really my colour; but in saying, that I have a couple of colours similar to this in a more glossy finish. So if you, like me, have dupes for this colour you may need a good excuse to purchase this product.

Luckily, I have some excuses: - The colour is a muted-brown rose, and the colour pay-off is marvellous! - The satin finish means it's highly pigmented, as a lipstick should be, but remains smooth not dry or chalky. - It's long lasting! ... and that's what we really want from a quality lipstick.

While the colour may not be for me, I highly recommend M.A.C's Satin lipstick formula and trust that the quality remains whatever colour you choose.

Tips: The colour is quite 'serious looking'. A lighter lip-liner will tone down the colour; add clear gloss to make a more casual look.

lovin' this

I have been using this for about two weeks now and I am very pleased with the results. At first I wasnt very hopeful about any change but now the change in my skin is very apparent. My skin tone has evened out and I have even noticed that when applying my makeup it seems to apply smoothly and I have even stopped using a primer now as well. Usually I am not the greatest fan of oily products because they seem to sit on top of my skin but this gets absorbed very quickly. I really enjoy the fragrance of this product as well. it is very muted which i like, not a fan of strong smelling products that go on my face The only thing I don't like about this is the dropper applicator, I find it too messy and hard to apply without it dripping down my face. I really like this product and will definitely be adding it to my daily skin routine.

My mother (who is in her 60's) has also been using it and she has noticed a difference in her skin as well. she said her skin feels softer and she has also noticed her skin tone has evened out some.

Update: I have also noticed that the few scars i have on my face from having picked or squeezed pimples have slightly faded now which is so amazing! When I put on a full face of make up they are invisible now which makes me feel so much better. I am absolutely in love with product
