What a sugary gem!

I was thrilled to bits to get on this trial. I love sugar scrubs and usually make my own so I was excited to try this out. It comes in a sturdy glass jar with a screw on lid. Looks quite simple but luxurious.

My skin is very dry at the moment so the word nourishing really appeals to me. First the smell, omg it smells like chocolate! I love it, it is not overpowering at all. It is quite thick and a rich brown so also looks a bit like chocolate, unfortunately it does not taste too good! Lol that was an accidental taste test when I used it on my lips, it left them super smooth though.

I like to use this in the shower, I wet my face a little and scoop a bit out then massage around my face, the sugar is so fine so it is not too harsh which is nice, it gives a nice light exfoliation then it melts into my skin, simply rinse off and boom, beautiful soft skin!

It does not leave my face feeling tight at all and it feels quite moisturised. I have sensitive skin and got no burning or redness. It is even gentle enough to use everyday as that is what I have been doing.

A gorgeous sugar scrub which I would purchase when it runs out. Definitely recommend for ladies with dry skin. Love it!

Great Colours Super Stay Debatable

Well, I have to admit I absolutely loved the colour! when applying the product I found the applicator a little odd with a hole in the middle of the sponge-like end. Maybe this is a new thing but it did prevent me from having to redip to apply more and it didnt leak out when applying so that was great. The first day I used it found it lasted most of the day I was actually quite impressed as the most colour starts to disappear within hours but this product I managed to get a good 8 hours out of it, so a big thumbs up. The second day is where things fell apart a little I was disappointed at a function I went to my lip colour left lumpy lip ink on my wine glass and this wasn't just a small amount either it was clearly obvious (don't worry I know you are never going to prevent that) but compared to the other ladies my glass looked terribly worse and obvious. Overall I would use it again sparingly maybe with a non-sheen lip moisturiser to help prevent transfer and the colour is absolutely fantastic.

Tips: Use a lip moisturiser to help prevent transfer to glasses when out to functions.

Beautiful brows on a budget

I have black hair and a cool toned complexion, so I chose to receive the shade "grey brown". When I first went to try this product, I was worried that the brush would be too thick and I wouldn't get a precise line. I even kept a thin eyebrow brush next to me in case I needed something thinner to apply the product, but I never needed it! I could do the ends of my brows easily without making them too thick.

I wasn't sure exactly how much product to apply at first, so I coated my brows in as much product as possible and hoped for the best! In hindsight this could have ended very badly (but luckily it didn't). The consistency of this product is quite thick, but it's still easy to work with. There's no noticeable scent. Definitely don't make plans to leave the house while it's on because you look a bit ridiculous while it's drying!

The packet suggests leaving it on for 20 mins to 3 hours. I trialled a few different times. I found that it lasted longer and looked better when left on for at least two hours. Though I am a fan of bolder brows, so keep this in mind if you try it for yourself.

So after waiting for a couple of hours, it's time to remove the product. The packet says to start removing from the tail of the brow, which I agree is the best way. Generally I can get it all off in one go with no problems, but if some product remains use a spoolie brush to comb it out. It is way easier to remove than I imagined it would be which is great!

I found the tint lasted well for two days. By day three it was still visible, but it had faded quite a bit. I like to reapply the product every two to three days to keep my brows looking nice.

This product is such a time saver! I used to spend ages doing my brows in the morning, but now all I do is sweep some tinted gel through them so they stay in place. I've always wanted to get my brows microbladed, but that's not feasible on a student budget. This product gives you the microbladed look, while also being budget friendly. I was skeptical at first, but I'd absolutely repurchase this again.

A must try

I first tried this body butter after seeing it in Mecca Maxima and thinking how great it would be if it actually worked as it's a great price, cruelty free and comes in a large tub. Initially upon opening the lid I thought the smell reminded me of dishwashing liquid but once I had rubbed it into my skin the scent seemed to change. After about 10 minutes I was left with a subtle Vanilla/lime fragrance which I loved. I always use this at night and wake up with soft, smooth skin. I was very excited to have found a product that was such great value for money I quickly went out and bought a few more as Christmas gifts. The fragrance can put people off but once it's on it definitely improves and I've heard the same from the friends I gave these to as gifts. I will definitely be purchasing this body butter again and am looking forward to trying more products by Soap and Glory

Tips: The intense lime scent will calm down after contact with the skin and leaves a subtle but fresh fragrance

I know what you mean about it being hard to find lime scented products. The only ones I have found have smelt like dishwashing liquid. It was so great to find this over summer as it's a really refreshing fragrance

sounds really nice and worth a try -Thanks

I love lime. It's not often you see lime flavoured products eh?

A liquid eyeliner that works for me

I love eyeliner but hate the struggle to master a simple line across the top of my lashes. I was excited to try this product and see if I could return to loving liquid eye liner

Opening the packet the shape of the pen was intriguing. Taking the cap off, the tip itself is different from most I've seen, in that it has a rounded part in the middle, almost as if it's there to help manoeuvre/flex the tip to how you'd like your line - be it thick or thin. The package promised me a refined and precise line - this I had to see.

First use of this pen, I started at my inner eye, using the very very end of the pen tip.. I was nervous about black liquid liner so I was trying hard, not to press hard, and it lined my inner eye as it promised, with a fine lash line, and the line seemed great - straight, not too many 'judder-bars' either. I continued over the rest of the lash line, with a slightly heavier but more confident hand, and again I was getting a relatively straight line, and not too heavy. It went on very smoothly and effortlessly

I'm only guessing, but in using this pen, the shape of the pen itself seems hook the pen tip over your lashes so you're not trying to work through your lashes with the eyeliner - it's a little bit genius in my amateur eye-lining opinion. My whole battle with a straight line is working around my eyelashes! This pen definitely overcomes that.

Removal later on, I found it washed off easily - but its not waterproof, so that probably helps with removal. I didn't have panda eyes the next day so must have removed quite well.

The next day I tried the eye liner again, and it was really great! I even strayed from my usual safe thin line and attempted a bit of a bolder line towards the outer edges, and it looked really great. Didn't look bumpy like my usual, and even the odd bump was very easily tidied up without lining half my lid to fix up the smallest bump.... Super impressed. I imagine if you loved winged eye-liner, this product would be amazing for it.

Wear through the day - better than the pencil I'd been using, but it definitely had some fade after about 5 or so hours. It fades to almost a gun metal grey on me, which in all honesty wasn't awful for me - I quite like that it eased off a little from the strong black line out to a blue/grey. My eyes still looked lined as they started out - and it was only a really close look in the mirror that I noticed the colour/tone change.

This pen gives you a bit of confidence if eye-liner has been your weaker part of your makeup routine. The black colour is lovely too - not too over-bearing, but not subtle either. This is definitely a great product for anyone that struggles with eyeliner - especially liquid eyeliner! I really love this product, and given I tend to keep my eyelid neutral and just use a liner and mascara, this product really works for me. I will keep it in my routine, and throw out all the other liners!!

Tips: Start with a lighter hand for a thin line, and build on it. A heavier hand will give a heavier line. With the fine tip - its relatively easy to go back and lightly tidy up any line.

Hold your skin with the other hand for a steadier canvas to work with.

You took the words right out of my mouth!

Someone else took the words right out of my mouth here when they said this is an ‘eyeliner for DUMMIES’.

In my view it is literally foolproof. Now, I’m not a big winged eyeliner girl but I like me a very fine line along the top of my lashes a technique I learnt from a certain Mr Wayne Goss. Pencils really annoy me as I find I can rarely get the line as fine as I would like and thus generally look like i’ve punched myself in the face.

I’ve tried eyeliner pens before with limited success which i’m in no way attributing to the products. In each and every case it was definitely a case of operator error.

This product however changes the game completely because…it is bent! Yes you heard right BENT. The head of the pen bends down which literally means you can see exactly what you are doing and you can control the pen super easily. I have been able to draw super fine lines which I love.

I find the product once on is smudge proof and with just a little bit more pressure you can make the line as thick as you like.

Small detail too, but it has a screw on cap. Now that may seem a bit strange as I can recall the last time I had a cosmetic with one of those, but it’s great as the likelihood of losing it and the product drying out is minimise.

Love, Love, Love!

Tips: Get one! You won't regret it.

I Love How Long My Eyelashes Now!

It’s finally here! The Mystery Mascara has arrived in my letterbox today! I quickly unwrapped the packaging and try this on! It has a nice, long, and slim brush, making it very easy to apply the mascara on my eyelashes. I have very short lashes so it’s not that easy to put mascara on. I had to use eyelashes curler and sometimes after a while, my eyelashes uncurled and back to the original shape. With this new Mystery Mascara, I have had it on for the whole day and it still maintains its curl. And the great thing about this is that it’s waterproof, so I don’t have to worry it would smudge and made my eyes looked like a clown.

Now I can’t wait to know what this Mystery Mascara, so I can go to get one! Love this Mystery Mascara!

Tips: Wriggling the brush while applying the mascara to eyelashes will even out and thickens the lashes. You don’t need eyelashes curler anymore!

Honestly blown away

There's 5 products in this line: one cleanser, followed by a four step skincare process. My review will go in order of application. Buckle in, this is gonna be a long one.

Cleanser: Thick, clear gel with quite a window cleaner smell that’s a little stronger than I like. It doesn't foam up much, but definitely leaves my face feeling squeaky clean The tube allows easy control of product dispension, and a tiny pea sized drop is enough for my whole face.

Blemish control gel: Soothing gel leaning towards liquid consistency. Only need a tiny bit for each problem area and I just squeeze some out onto my finger then dab it. The little opening in the tube allows really careful control of how much you get out. I feel like my pimples 'dry up' and heal faster when I use this, and it seems to have antiseptic properties to prevent extra pus.

Toner: This smells BAD. It's a terrible mix of hospital disinfectant, chemical cleaners, and just bad memories all round. At first I found this unbearable, and was almost tempted to stop using this. But now I've gotten a bit more used to it. Another complaint about this one is the spray is too strong, instead of a fine mist, I end up squirting myself on the face in just one patch. The toner itself is actually not bad. It makes the application of the following steps smoother and seems to help the absorption. I store it in the fridge so it's nice and refreshing when I use it.

Serum: This comes out of a metal pump bottle, and even though it recommended two pumps or more, I find that just one is enough for my face and neck. Putting it on my face feels very soothing, it just glides on and spreads so easily. It's quite a thin gel type texture, and absorbs insanely fast leaving my face feeling completely dry (but in a good way). It smells very natural, like sesame seeds but also kind of medicinal. I think this is a good pre-step to the moisturiser, as it adds in that extra bit of moisture.

Moisturiser: this is a very thick gel, almost like a cream. Again this is in a tube and I only need about 3/4 of a pea sized dollop. At night time or when my skin feels quite dry I might put a little more on five minutes after the first application. This seems to lock in all the products before it, and I can easily apply makeup or sunscreen overtop without my face looking too shiny.

I'll have to use it for another good month or two before seeing any long term improvements, but in the short term this has wowed me. Favourite product is definitely the blemish gel, since it's the most potent. The serum is also quite nice, I feel like when it's really hot I could even skip the moisturiser and use the serum alone. The spray of the toner needs a little tweaking, and the smell of the cleanser and the toner is a little annoying, but otherwise I'm pretty happy. The prices are really good, and I’ll definitely repurchase the blemish gel, the serum and maybe the others if I see good results in the long run.

Tips: Decant the toner into a mist bottle for a more even spray.

Presentations a wow !

I know some BR reviewers don't like the packaging to play a large part in the reviews however I feel this trio is an exception as it is sold through souvenir shops and has a special Kiwi label and presentation which stands out. The 3 products have a lovely dark brown base container with the shower wash and body lotion both having a nice gold trim and a firm pump applicator. The label is a pale green with a feijoa and blossom and a really cool fantail representing NZ on the front. The perfume comes in a cardboard cylinder with same label and a lovely dark brown glass bottle with gold trim a etching and a gold roll on for easy application. The 3 products have a really nice fruity scent however I could not detect any ginger and the base products for the gel and body lotion are almond , macadamia and coconut oils which left my skin feeling really soft and pampered. A nice plus being a NZ product and no nasty chemicals however is all cases the scent did not last long enough. Even layering with the body wash, lotion and perfume did not give a lasting effect and was really disappointing. I will enjoy using these products to the very end but because of the short term effect probably wouldn't replace.

Tips: Keep by your workspace and use through out the day for a short term lift.

Delicious But Not Lasting

I was so impressed when I saw the packaging for this trio. The native bird artwork is eye catching and looks great in my bathroom (shower gel) and with my other beauty products.

The shower gel is silky and luxurious. I have used it head to toe! The scent is delicious but definitely doesn't last after you finish your shower. I also found that when I used it with my exfoliator glove it didn't lather as well as other soaps I have used.

The moisturiser also smells super scrumptious. It is quite a light moisturiser so wouldn't suit skin that needs plenty of deep moisture. I used it on my arms and legs mostly just to layer on the orange and clove scent.

Finally, the perfume. Again, the packaging is stunning - both the bottle itself and the cardboard tube it comes enclosed in. The scent has orange as the top note, with clove as a warm spice base note. Because the top notes are citrus but the base notes have warmth, I feel the fragrance would suit both summer and winter. I would happily buy this scent in a candle!

The roll-on bottle doesn't allow much of the oil-based perfume to come into contact with your skin. I found I had to roll it over my skin several times to get a good distribution of scent.

The fragrance only lasted an hour or so, which was disappointing because I absolutely love the smell of it! At least the bottle is small so I kept it with me in the car or my handbag to apply during the day.

If you have a friend that likes this type of scent, this trio would make a lovely inexpensive gift. I will definitely use up all the products, but because the scent pay-off isn't that strong I probably won't purchase again.

Tips: I kept the perfume in my handbag and reapplied throughout the day.

sounds really nice -shame scent didn't last longer

Thanks for the honest review. I was interested to know how the products rated as the packaging is divine. Possibly longer lasting scent options available for the price point.

Thanks for the review, sounds like a really nice set!

I can't wait to read the reviews for the other scents.

It sounds lovely. I do think though, you could get a good gift set of perfume for nigh-on $60 that lasts longer do you think?
