Oh thanks for the suggestion nessfindlay, I just looked them up and they seem pretty cost effective too which is always a win. How long do you find a bottle lasts you?

I take a few supplements as I have a problem with producing too much oestrogen so I take 3x zinc tablets in the morning (Thorne Research), 3x Folonic Acid (Pure Innovation) and 5 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar mixed in a very small amount of water 3x daily to help with digestion and sugar cravings (I have a wicked sweet tooth!!).  This has also helped me lose weight since I'm not eating as much processed sugar.

I'm normally really impatient with taking supplements because I want to see results straight away, and I can tell you - taking the zinc in the morning has definitely turned me in to a morning person!!!  It gives me a lot of energy.  And if I'm having trouble sleeping I take a couple of magnesium pills to relax my muscles.

Ive heard the apple cider tip is really good, but ive heard its also bad for your teeth. I spose diluting it with water would make it a bit more gentle?

I swear by magnesium tablets to help with relaxation and sleep.  They are amazing and have helped me start to get the sleep I so desperately need.  I take one a day and they have the added bonus of having Bvitamins as well so help with stress :)

I take vitamin D because I don't get much sunlight as I'm in an office all day, as well as 'hair, skin and nails' vitamins that have biotin and silica in them.

@ chatondemode it's nowhere near as bad as it sounds, and it's only bad for you if you take it excessively.  5tsp doesn't even cover the bottom of a glass so it's really not that bad.  The only thing you really need to get past is the smell.

I'm now also taking a Bioceutical Ultraclean EPA/DHA capsules twice daily as I suffer from dry scalp, I'm not getting enough fatty acids in my diet.

Im on Thompson's Hair Skin & Nails at the moment.. I've only been on them for just over a week, so I am yet to notice much of a difference, it will be interesting to see if they work though. Ive heard mixed reviews about these sorts of products, but I thought I'd give them a go. Couldn't hurt right? I'll let you know how I go (:

I take a multi-vitamin (Centrum complete for women) daily, as well as a vit-c tab to ward off the cold/flu germs.

I've recently started taking Chromium Picolinate in order to help me regulate my blood sugar levels and combat sugar cravings.

Fish oil tablets without a doubt! They are good for skin, joint and brain health. I had really bad dermatitis on my hands for 3 years and since taking fish oil tablets and using Trilogy ultra-hydrating hand cream it has completely cleared up. I find they also really help with my sore knees from running on the road a lot. Definitely recommended!

I always take clinicians fish oil (omega 3 only as omega 6 can be detrimental to health if taken in excess) which contains vitamin D and Iodine (have to have extra iodine as I have had thyroid issues).

I also swear by and have to take Red seal magnesium, zinc and B6 tablets every day without fail - if I don't take my magnesium and B6 I get terrible migraines but other effects of these are stronger nails and less muscle cramps and twitchy eyelids!

Im really keen to try these hair and nails tablets. Where can you get them from, how much, and are there any side effects? Also, has anyone taken just silica?

I take quite a number of supplements. I take Radiance Multi Power for vitamins, krill oil in place of fish oil, astaxanthin, vitamin C tablets and I also take hair, skin and nails tablets plus calcium pills at that time of the month. I also take a herbal supplement for hayfever.

I swear by Healtheries Zinc Plus for reducing PMS. I take it for the five days leading up to my period and no longer get mood swings, much less acne, less pain and in general feel better. My partner can always tell if I've forgotten to take it!

And I also can't go without Go Healthy Adrenal Support tablets each day. After finally being diagnosed with adrenal disfunction after 15 years of hell, these suppliments have made an enormous difference to my life.
I take Blackmores Multivitamin and is a sustained slow release.  Has everything you need.  I found this to be an interesting thread to read.
And you just reminded me to take one!  Thanks

Barley grass!!!
My holy grail of nutrients and multivitamins. Its not the best tasting powder to drink but it is jam packed with every single vitamin (who know we need copper and silver in our bodies) you can think of.
Its only because of my mom I'm taking this. She found this by accident by trying to google remedies for cataracts. Long story short... They are all gone and she her eyesight is now baffling her specialist.

Try it!!

Wow Colleen, I think I have to get me some of that barley grass and give it a go, have heard it tastes really bad, so how do you take it without vomiting, is there a pill/capsule substitute lol.  My Dad has cataracts too, will definitely recommend this to him too.  Thanks for posting hun :-)

Those of you taking fish oil, do you get tablets or add the gel to your juice in the morning?  Can you taste it?

I am loving the Go Healthy New Zealand Hair Skin and Nails Supplement at the moment. My hair has been feeling so strong, skin has been glowing and hardly had any breakouts and my nails are tough! Before this I use to take fish oil capsules when I could feel my skin was getting dry but I don't really need them for that anymore. I like the sound of this supplement for stress though, sounds like my next purchase!

Sarah, I use the barley grass in its powder form (not sure if they make them in capsules) and you can add it to a smoothie in the morning.
I just learnt to suck it up and drink it down with only water. Its not that bad after a while and I really do feel the difference in my overall health.

Its Lifestream Barley Grass. White bottle with green sticker packaging. I get it from Health 2000. Give it a few days of continous use and you'll feel good! But taking it on an empty stomach gives you best results and benefits.

Fantastic, thanks for that hun.  Will pick some up when I'm out and about.  Could you add it to a smoothie, like a protein shake for breakfast? When do you usually take it?

Just take it straight up with water but its pretty hard to swallow when you're not use to the taste so I would advise starting off with mixing it into a smoothie or something. Later you can go cold turkey and take it straight up lol :) small steps are always better :)
