yay, tick another Monday off!!

What was your highlight, moment that made you think, and moment that made you laugh for this sometimes hard day?  (Especially if you, like me, fell victim to insomnia last night and slept exactly zero minutes. . . )

My highlight was getting an email about my new job that has me even more excited - a slight role tweak for the (even more insanely) better.

My moment that made me think was visiting my dad in hospice and being floored by the positivity, friendliness and genuine warmth displayed by people who see some awful things day in and day out.

My moment that made me laugh was marking an 11 year old's work and seeing that he'd drawn a very cute, smiley Doraemon - in full armour, with a sword, and a speech bubble proclaiming 'I KILL YOU!'

Hi Trudi I'm sympathising with the insomnia - I'm having a bout of thyroid insomnia too, coupled with red burning eyes - an awesome look! it's not improving my mood any either...

The highlight of my day was getting a sample cleanser from By Nature, and then an email from Nivea to say they are sending two trial samples. Yay - products to try!!!

The moment that made me think was sharing a post, "our prime purpose in this life is to help others. If you can't help them, at least don't hurt them" - Dalai Lama. A beautiful quote that represents the spirit of Buddhism.

A moment that made me laugh - there wasn't really one, just the usual terse black humour that comes with a stressful job!

Low point - reading all the nasty, hateful comments on FB about Gloriavale  - wow, what happened to live and let live....

Thanks Maree - he's only in for a week or so this time for pain management and radiation on broken bones.  It's such an amazing facility.

We're lucky to live in NZ in spite of some of the issues we have aren't we? at least if our loved ones can be assisted to be comfortable during their hardest times, then we have a lot to be grateful for.

Very much so, Maree, and a timely moment to beg people to contribute to Daffodil Day and other Cancer Society fundraisers.  The money *IS* being used well.  I know that for a fact x

highlight of the day was watching calves running around outside for the first time with crunchy snow under their feet and it made me laugh. I'm also learning to find a positive side to  daily things that would normally make me stress, I feel like I'm a different person! i guess that is the positive in fonterra's low payout!!!

What made me laugh the most today....the kid who pretended to be reading a book, but he'd actually carved the inside of the book out and had his phone hiding inside it! The fact it was an old Readers Digest gave him away. The conversations that followed had me and a few others in that class literally crying with laughter.

Awww sleep deprived here too.

My highlight for Monday would be my neice has improved and I got my kids feed washed story ,prayers and bed by 7.30pm. The eldest was at ball game.

This is a much better to refer to then the fact that my home has sold without even knowing it was in the market & I got my 42 day notice today aswell as some other crap that I just want to discuss but it's so fricken complicated it would kill the thread.

Oh Keri, that's rough. I hope it's the universe finding a way to give you a better, cheaper house in a nice neighbourhood closer to everything you need to be near with a budget priced beauty shop next door :)

Bexb it's a tough time for you too - get yourselves some sheep, as many as you can - if you can spend the night counting them it'll kill two birds with one stone (so to speak - please don't kill any birds..)!

Hahaha Maree I couldn't kill a bird but yes I like the idea of sheep! Much better idea.... Now to convince the man, shouldn't be too hard

K3R1 I'm sure that good things are on there way to you, one door closes and another opens.

Trudi, I'm glad that your time with your Dad gave you a nice thought for the day.

My day hasn't been so good, but hey everyday is a blessing so I can't complain.
(but seriously being 2hrs late for work because my driveway was frozen over... not cool).

Always remind myself that tomorrow will be better!!!

Hugs trudi I hope he enjoyed your treats. They looked so good.

I laughed at Maree saying buy sheep! Don't buy sheep bex. Unless you need to to count. We had a norty ram get to a few of ours early so we are lambing early. Norty norty norty ram!

We saved a wee lamb yesterday. I named him piddles for obvious reasons. Then this morning he was cold..I was warming him up and chatting away and he died in my arms. Norty piddles made me shed a wee tear. He bleeted a wee baar goodbye.

I laughed when chikoboo has forced me into buying so many pretty makeup items. It amazes me how she has the enabling powers.

My highlight was getting my very first A- at uni for my whole first year! I've been getting Bs so hard work is paying off! A moment that made me think is tonight in Palmy we've had some guy on the loose that shot at a community police station and the central police station as well as a Mobil. It's crazy thinking people like this are around us...And a moment that made me laugh was my partner pretending he didn't know me when we went to BK and proclaimed I was a kind stranger when I bought him a frozen lift. It made me giggle. The cashier could see right through him! haha

My highlight was recieving my Goodness night Balm today that I won off a facebook competition. My pit of the day loosing my house key, still can't find it. My laugh of the day was just play wrestling with my partner and watching our favourite programme and laughing.

Sorry to hear that about Piddles @ farmers wife xx Looked so cute too

Hope things look up for you @ Keri x

A great thread Trudy. I agree Cancer Society is great. They were supportive for me and my family. Hope you get some rest.

Well the topics of my day were statistics and youth offenders. So not exactly cheerful.

I did have a good laugh tonight though. It was my dad's birthday so we decided to all share funny stories about him.

For all you ladies who have also has rubbish days, lets hope next Monday is better.

My highlight was giggling myself silly when a coworker announced to some of us that he had had an awful time tea bagging maps.
What he was referring to was tea staining some props for the floor magic competition and failing miserably. Soaked paper in tea and then dried on the oven (burnt to cinders) then on the floor of his shower and marked the floor with ink and then followed by bleach and through out this he is talking with his mum on the phone. He even had a small laugh over the entire thing as well.

K3r1, I think legally you are supposed to be informed that the house is on the market.
trudi, ive been thinking about you and your dad, im glad he is being looked after well.

my low point was probably just getting up to early!
My high point was seeing my new 5 year old doing some writing and being really proud of himself. Plus he got a ccertificate today saying how well he is managing himself at playtimes. Um him and my 6yo got into some trouble at school on his first week there!
what I laughed at was my 2yo son. He comes out with the ffunniest things and I love watching him dance and play.

Monday for me was pretty awesome, a rollercoaster but for once I enjoyed Monday, Tuesday however it being a difficult one and it is only 8am (bad hair day, festering bug gettng worse, makeup not doing what it was meant to as I forgot to put hydrating primer on under my matte foundation so hello!!! crispy cake face...blah oh well)

My highlight and humbling part of Monday was getting home to a gift from Goodness that the lovely Macs had nominated me to win with her, a lovely evening cream =)

Uplifting part was being able to make Farmers Wife giggle and bombard her with all these pretty things she needs, and apparently "forcing" her to buy mwahahahaha.   Nothing makes me happier than cheering people up especially if I can make them laugh.

Getting a surprise from my late grandad which means I can move into our new home a lot sooner than we both planned on which is in one hand really exciting but also humbling and endearing that my grandad did such a wonderful thing.

Great thread :)
My worst part of Monday I would say is the fact I can never sleep which seems to from baby be a problem a few of us share :) at over 40 weeks pregnant sleep is all you want haha

My highlight a Phone call from a friend I haven't so spoken to in awhile, 2 hours later haha

Moment that made me laugh my black lab who insists on resting her head on my tummy getting a kick from baby and the look of confusion on her face

My Monday was hectic. Not sure I had a highlight, or a moment that made me think, or even a laugh. I've been relentlessly busy for weeks and weeks now and there is no end in sight! At least today I have only one meeting so I can tackle my very long to do list.

Anyone else feel like there is not enough hours in the day?

Monday... Just a day like any other when you work 7 days a week :)

Highlight would have to be the calf with fluid on his lungs getting better. By lunch time he was up feeding and hooning around like normal. The other thing was finishing up a bit early, popping into town and getting the last block of Jaffa chocolate from 4Square!

Weren't really any moments of thoughtfulness, that'll probably come today when I go to (big) town.

As for something that made me laugh there's no going past the usual antics of the calves. Can't help but have a giggle when they forget to stop before they collide with one another, or some big goober gets too excited and ploughs the rest off the feeder.

My highlight for Monday was our specialist appointement for our baby (Currently 26 weeks) and hearing although she is sitting below the line for her growth and growing at a slower rate she is healthy. Thankful to be under specialist care where we will beseen every 3 weeks.

A moment that made me think and also my partner was when we were sitting in the waiting room to be seen to yesterday and seeing  women crying when given not so great news about their babies. My heart goesout to them and at the same time I'm greatful our situation is minor compared to others that surrounded us yesterday xx

A moment that made me laugh yesterday, my 2 year old Daughter announced to the whole cafe while we were having a coffee catch up with my mum that she had done "ewww poos, stinky" haha

Gracious Mila... I've just realised that every time I've seen your image, I've thought that you look like Shelley. And you are! Hi!! I'm such a blonde!

Monday was good. First day back at work after three weeks sick and a week of holiday. Middle of the day was spent having pain inflicted on my by my physio. I'm sure she LOVES to work my IT band.

Tuesday isn't going too well though. Had the hairdresser before work. Two hours late to work to find my Mumboss waiting for me to be let in as she'd lost her keys. Whoops. Have a law lecture this afternoon and traffic to look forward to. At least tonight I'll hopefully get some assignment work done and the gym.

At least my hair looks great.

It's good sometimes to reflect on Monday a day usually that means urgh here we go again for me.  Thanks for reminding us to do so Trudi.

A highlight for me was having a rare day off and being able to exercise like I always plan to do.

Something that made me think was how much I don't appreciate the lovely things my husband does around the place like washing, vacuuming and cooking.  He makes my days go easier.

Something that made me laugh was how I always seem to catch myself dancing in the mirror in underwear.  It's a habit of mine that spans back to my childhood lol and I guess I haven't stomped the habit yet

My highlight was receiving some baby items I secretly bought for my sister (it's her first so this will be my first time being an auntie so I am excruciatingly excited). A moment that made me think was being at work and just thinking about the future in regards to work etc. like you Trudi I had a rough Sunday night/Monday morning with insomnia so yesterday I was glad for something cool to happen.

My highlight of Monday was fiance coming home an entire week early off shore. He was supposed to be off for 3 weeks but he got to come home eaarrrlllyyyy. :D

Something that made me think... I didn't really think of anything yesterday haha. Well my boss was on my mind, he was going in for surgery and I haven't yet text my friend (it's her dad) to ask how he's doing/how the surgery went. So I hope it went well. Super duper well.

A moment that made me laugh... probably having a cuddle on the bed with fiance and we were just hanging out and having a giggle at the cats being weird. :-)

Huggles for everyone that needed them yesterday and today, sometimes Monday can be a right kick in the teeth, but luckily we all have BR and each other to moan to :-)

Sometimes Tuesday is a Monday in disguise. Found out that iPhones can't swim and there was no wifi at uni this afternoon so I couldn't use VoIP to ring my insurance company to get a claim started, because nobody works after 5pm in the insurance industry.

Highlight. - mon & Tuesday off work, but sadly not for fun. Sick, sneezing & snotty. Good parts... I got a nap this afternoon, my man has been wonderful, leaving me with a well equipped fire, bringing in the washing, sorting teas & making sure I don't have to do too much, but not getting too close.
Also watched some Outrageous Fortune.

Thinking - realising why my mum will never like Outrageous Fortune.

Laugh - loads. My family is funny.

Alikat, you suffered from Turdy Tuesday. I was at work to 6.30 and I left people there till 8, waiting for calls/claims. but most would have after hours on for assistance or an online option to file a claim. I don't know about other insurance companies though.

Everyone, It's hump day wednesday, so nearly half way through the week this morning. Things get better as the week goes on.

as Ragingfrog said it's Hump Day!! yay although I overslept, forgot to put pieces of makeup on through only being half awake, being late, burning my tongue on my morning peppermint tea and only realising when I got to work that I forgot to check if the cat was out of the bedroom before shutting the door, then getting to work and the whole network was down for a good 2 hours (I confuse I did just take a power nap whilst alone in the office) today has got to get better.  At least I am smiling and counting down the slide to the weekend =)

hump day - i had bus duty, two classes, a meeting, a class, an exam, a meeting, a class and then netball.  8 to nearly 7 before I got a proper break.  Tomorrow is exam, class, meeting, 2 classes and then.... *gasp*  A LUNCH BREAK!  and then a FREE PERIOD!  (during that double free session I need to colate all the academic competitions data, updare my live interactive planning document, load my assessments for term 3 onto the LMS, write this weeks netball report and give my Year 10 feedback on the work they did while I was away.  Off the top of my head, anyway.  Then, I have another meeting.

Teaching...  less than 30 days of it left :S
