How old do people think you are?

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I don't recall it.  How old do people think you are?  I'm always getting asked for ID and people commenting "no!! really??" when I tell them how old I am.  Which I find hilarous considering when I was growing up everyone said I acted like a 30 year old lol.   Most people think I am only in my low to mid 20's which I put down to my skin being almost wrinkle free...look closer you'll see them hiding =)

I get mid 20's and I often still get ID'd buying alcohol in the supermarket (and going to clubs but it's Auckland, they card just about everyone in the clubs)

I started to look older about 18/19 and have spent 15 years being estimated at about 25. I'll take it haha.

My Mum is 63 and often mistaken for much younger, and I got those genes, for which I'll be forever grateful!

I DO have grey hair, but I dye it dark brown ;)

Oh - and I'm 34 (and 2 months ;) )

Aid love to be asked for ID. On the phone people ALWAYS ask to speak to mum or dad. When I'm grumpy will say no they left me home alone. Or they don't live here. Or when it's those dreaded sales people I get away with swearing and hanging up the phone hahahaha.
Play on it!!

I get this heaps, which I always find awesome. People seem to think I'm low to mid 20s (I wish!), and they usually apologise when they see how old I am. I'm always like 'yo, why're you apologising? That's a compliment!' Hahaha.

Yeah this is going to be an interesting and fun thread. I still get asked for ID I have got NO idea why. I guess it's because I am forever rushing and in a hurry I must look dodgy as! But last weekend I got told 25 and when I have my glasses on my partner and kids all think I look 20 haha! I wish!!

Hahahah Ong, when I was little I told someone I was home alone - they rang back 5 minutes later when my mother answered and she was like... What?? I was outside hanging out the washing!? Hahaha. I got ID'd when I went out to dinner on Easter weekend and I got ID'd when I bought scratchies last Thursday - always do unless my usual girl is on and she just tells me what to buy. I love her. haha

last time I was asked if my parents were home I was flatting, at teachers college, 23 and my parents were living overseas.

So I told the truth: they went overseas and left me here all alone, and I'm HUNGRY!

I think the woman nearly called cyfs.....

to be fair, my 'polite' voice is super high, because it defaults to my 'polite feminine tone' for  Japanese, which is always high

Hmmm not as much as my brother! He used to tell complete strangers that the sperm doner (sorry for being crude but thats all he is to me and I can't think of a nicer way to word it)... that he would get light bulbs smashed over his bottom and he was thrown on the roof afterwards cos he was naughty - all untrue but it's pretty funny to look back on hahaha. All I did was shuffle on my butt cos who wants to walk anyway

Nope, I dont get asked that at all.... should I be upset? lol.  As for my husband, he used to get asked ALL THE TIME! and once, he was asked if I was his mother!!  I think it was at that point, he started trying real hard to grow a beard, lol.  Took another 5 years I have to say, but he did it, lol.

Omg Bron that made me remember something!

When we first moved here, I was in a chemist talking to the lady and found out she was the neighbour. She says my husband met your son. I was kinda confused. It turned out she was meaning my husband!!!! They thought my husband was my son! I nearly died!
Then my younger sister went in a few days later and she connected the 2 of us, she asked my younger sister how much older than me she was.
Man do I still have her on about it. She went up in my books with calling my sister older tho

It's actually funnier for my hubby there is a 15 year age difference between us but no one believes it as he looks like he is mid 30's but he is 50 next year. Apparently I keep him young lol or so people say :)

Ive never really been asked for id, even when I was a teen. It was so easy for me to buy alcohol and smokes being underage!
im really tall and I guess I kind of look mature? Its good in some ways, like I was 19 when I was pregnant with my first and I never had any 'young mum' backlash like other people I knew did. It would be nice to look a bit younger when im older though, im hoping I age ok lol

I think this such an interesting topic! I tend to get ID'd all the time, apart from when I have my daughter with me (go figure)
I'm only 21, so I'm under the "if you look under 25 dont be offended if we ask for you ID"
but, isn't it strange/funny how having a child makes people think you must be over a certain age.
Ongelique, (hope I didn't butcher that) I love you videos! Your voice makes me feel super relaxed and at ease.
All you ladies are hot to trot!
Wouldnt believe half of your ages, truely

OMG ladies, Im in fits of laughter reading your posts, great thread Chikoboo! Honestly you look early 20s, your skin is amazing! And well you are absolutely right, you must keep your hubby looking youthful :D

I think I look my age (29) And I never rarely get asked for ID, but on the phone thats a whole new thing lol, people always ring my home or mobile and ask me if my "MUM" is there, it happens at least once a week which I have become used to

When I was 13 one of my Mum's friends offered me rum because he thought I was 16... I think because of my height I probably seem younger than I am now though.

I always use to get asked for Id. It sucked when I didn't actually have any but was of age. The last time I got asked was a year ago when I got my dad's beer and my brother was with me, he said "that's a complement" as I was a little defensive and shocked replying with ,"I'm old as"
Really don't go anywhere that requires Id these days. 3 kids in tow and never having a babysitter. But yeah... I do know I look younger then my two brothers whom are 9 and 3 years younger then me.

My mum does get mistaken for my sister shes 56 & I'm 38 I don't feel 38 but I don't know what 38 should feel like. I feel like 38 is ancient.... 1 thing is I have terrible Grey hair like a 38 year old. I'm sure it's a combo of so much dying my hair as a teen and genes of my dad. My mums genes are my height and youthfulness

I always take it as a complement when I get asked for  ID, but generally I think I usually look my age. People always think I'm older then my big sister, but she's young looking and only 1 year older than me so I don't mind. Oh and I'm 27 btw :-)

sorry for the edit, my phone goes auto correct crazy!

Oh sad - the last time I was asked for id I was 27. Not likely I'll ever get asked again now! I usually get mistaken for being younger than I am but having grey hair now probably ages me by a decade!

I look a lot older then i am. Some parts of my face look younger, but i have deep smile lines and things like that which make me look more mature and whatever i do, nothing seems to minimize their appearance :(

I've been told I am young looking for my age, generally about 10 years younger (I was 49 as of Jan) but I just brought a magnifying mirror recently and used it for the first time today. I don't believe them anymore lol.

I did get told I was pretty and didn't look my age last week by two separate people but I can really see a difference now. Hohum :(

Awwww AJ they are evil those magnifying mirrors I have to use one as I'm so blind without my glasses on so I need it to apply and remove makeup it makes me super critical of my makeup as it shows all flaws. Just remember that people don't see what that evil creation shows you xx

Aww thanks. They surely are evil creations lol, good way of putting it. Hopefully this new skincare regime will help, I added some ZA collagen cream to the mix yesterday and am expecting reasonable results. I haven't used collagen cream before :) x
I'm 20 but I can easily pass for 15 still.

Then again my mother is almost 50 but gets mistaken for 35 so...

I think I probably look my age (34) although I have been asked a few times when I'm out with my two children (miss 2 and mr 10 week old) if I'm babysitting or if I'm a nanny lol.  I definitely have a few wrinkles starting though.

One of my classmates at uni thought I was about 25/26 years old and the look of horror on his face when I told him that I was actually 32 (back then). I'm now 34 and I still get looks of surprise when I tell much younger classmates my age - I'm not sure if its surprise because I hope I look younger than 34, or horror because working full time and having been studying part time for the past five years has aged me.

Wish I got asked for ID when buying wine - I haven't been asked for years :(

ali do you have issues with younger guys hitting on you, seeing as you're studying? I constantly get hit on by guys ten years younger than me when I'm out, but not by the ones my age lol

When people meet me these days they often assume I'm in my early 20's, which I love (I'm 27), but I'm pretty sure they only think that because I'm knee high to a grasshopper.

I think I look my age. I only get I.D'd half the time nowadays, which is like a little stab to the heart every.single.time. I want to hold on to my youth! I have problems.

Oh AJ and Kirsty - I have one of those evil mirrors too :( I have to say though, that when I stand back from the mirror to brush my hair, my poor eye sight comes into it's own and I can convince myself of several unlikely qualities!!

I'm 43 this year...it would be lovely if others thought I look younger but I'd drop down dead if anyone thought I looked older. Some days I feel 20, other days I feel 60 hehe
