Tropical and Fruity

I got a little 100ml bottle of this in a giftset I purchased from lush at the start on the year. I've been trying to use some others up first but I was definitely looking forward to trying this one out.

This concoction is a very bright yellow. I almost feel like a bright orange would suit it more though. Not that the colour matters of course! This comes in the standard lush gel bottles, at least with the colour being very bright, it's different from other lush gels so you would easily be able to tell which one it is if you have lots of lush shower gel like I do.

This says it is a chocolate orange scent. I really can't smell chocolate. To me, this is a fruity, tropical scent. With a hint of coconut and a nice strong citrus, it's not even really an orange citrus. I get a slight grapefuit hint. I'm not sure what yuzu is supposed to smell like. It's not sweet, but very vibrant and fresh. It's not my most favourite scent from lush but I do enjoy using it in the shower. It scents my bathroom nicely as well while I'm using it. I imagine the scent would linger on my body, but I'm not sure as I also use body lotion and perfume which would mask it. The consistency is sort of runny but not super thin. It lathers up pretty nicely too.

My partner adores this, he saw me grab it out of the shower just now to write a review and he wanted to know what I was doing taking it out! I'm pretty sure I'd buy a bottle separately at some stage, I'm hoping to pick up some gift sets in the boxing day sales which would hopefully have a bottle of this in them too. I'd recommend if you do like that sort of tropical scent, but just don't expect a choc note.

Lavishly Lush

I'm always a bit hesitant about trying out shower cream, not really because of any bad experiences with creams in the shower, but more because I enjoy gels and soaps and bubbles so much. So is there really a need for a shower cream?

I have to say, this product hasn't absolutely made up my mind, but I'm definitely leaning towards accepting shower creams now. It's its own treat really, a lavish and creamy treat. One that I don't want to use for every shower but every now and then.

The scent is slightly orangey and to me smells quite coconutty rather that like cocoa butter. However that isn't really a bad thing. The bright yellow colour definitely livens things up as well.

I'm not sure whether I will get it again given there are so many other Lush products I prefer..But I will keep an open mind in the future for shower creams.

Lush Yuzu & Cocoa

Lush have created a shower cream that smells good enough to eat. I'd read reviews on this particular one and it didn't seem to be anything special. Then I got a sample with an online order and holy wow it was love at first sniff.

I'm not normally the biggest fan of citrus scents, but this smells like a good chocolate orange icecream. The bright yellow colour is certainly cheerful! The product is a smooth, thickish cream that doesn't lather very much at all. It basically feels like running a piece of satin over the skin *insert heart eyes emoji here*.

You're left with a very delicate, leaning towards cocoa scent after using this. It's not very strong but I guess that's a good thing if you want your perfume to be the 'hero' of your scent.

Yuzu? Really?

I'm very familiar with my Japanese scents, and Yuzu is actually more of a tart, grapefruity kind of scent/flavour than an orange one, so I was excepting something a bit crisper than the (admittedly pleasantly rounded) citrus in this. It's a warm, rich scent that doesnt' really evoke yuzu or cocoa in particular but more of a chocolate and orange cake-type smell. It's lovely - just not what i was expecting when I was promised yuzu!

Lush are going to town with the bright colours at the moment, and this is no different, being a radioactive bright yellow. It's not my scene, colourwise, but does quite suit the product scent. Characteristic of the recent batches of Lush Shower Creams, it's thicker and creamier - prior batches have been liquid-y and harder to use.

The packaging is the standard Lush bottle with graphic black and white font on a clear bottle. These are clearly labelled with ingredients, expiration dates etc, which is always a plus.

This isn't a lathering 'wash', more of a cleansing, nourishing cream. It leaves skin feeling lovely, lightly scented, and smooth.

So, why the 3/5 for 'Would I use it again'? The bright yellow, the pleasant but unremarkable scent, and the fact that Lush simply do others I prefer. I'd use this again, happily. Would I actively choose it? Maybe not.

Tips: Samples, samples, samples. Pop into Lush and just ask. They're super generous.

Soozie yuzu has become a vogue word for anything citrus and it's not ideal

Haha, I'm the same - like the smell but it's definitely not yuzu! Especially when compared to Japanese bath products with yuzu in.

Chocoorange

A typically packaged lush item. The scent is refreshing not sweet but definitely citrus infused cocoa. The thick cream disperses out of bottle easily it's kind of a shame it doesn't foam up none the less it feels creamy & leaves a beautiful scent to my skin aswell as invigorating my senses. Which leaves me totally satisfied with having washed myself with the cream. I don't think it's bad nor do I love it but I am glad I tried it & I would repurchase.

I loved it, but would I get it again?....hmm

First of all, I ADORED 'Lord of misrule' He my bae of body wash. But that devil is also a limited edition. Then I saw Yuzu and Cocoa (the yellow caught my eye) and of all of the washes in Lush at the time (comfort is just too strong berry) it was my favourite so I got a small bottle because I always like a tester incase I get sick of the scent after a day or two. I love the orange/chocolate scent, it reminds me of those orange chocolate things you can get at Christmas wehre each segment of the orange is separate. mmmm...nothing like childhood memories captured in a bottle that you can scrub all over yourself. Although I liked this product; orange, chocolate, vanilla/coconut undertone I must admit I just never felt like I NEEDED to have more (Like with some other products from lush) I think Its because, Like the chocolate orange I would get at Christmas, too much of it would just dull it out.

I like how lush brings out new scents all the time though... but I must repeat Lord of misrule is, and always will be, my Shower-bae..

Tips: the trick is to get the small and then go for the large once you are addicted... becasue this stuff lasts for AGES and you may not really want to get stuck with half a litre of fluro-yellow orange-chocolate body wash. someone please go back in time and share that tip with past-me... (I need more Misrule! STAT)

Bright yellow...

I bought this on a online shopping whim, back when they only had the two larger sizes.. so I bought the smaller of them at 250g. Now, it sounded really nice online... it really did! but when it arrived all I could smell was coconut... weird... it is meant to be chocolate and orange. So I left it because clearly my Lush addiction had reached an all new level and I had litres of shower gel to get through. I reached for this the other day as my usual likes didn't grab me and I thought I'd try something new... it had settled a lot during this time (months) but it was easy re-mixed, in fact aside from olive branch it was probably the easiest yet.

The packaging is the same clear Lush bottle with black flip up lid, it squeezes out nicely too, good shower gel consistency.

The Product itself is BRIGHT yellow and reminds me of highlighter yellow, it smells more like orange now, but not overpoweringly so, still not much hint of chocolate and that strange coconut scent is still there... I am still baffled.

So I eagerly apply some to my hands and shower as usual, it feels a bit gritty, and I see little white granules throughout.. kind of reminds me of the coconut ice treats we as kids. It lathers alright but when I looked at my hands I almost freaked out a bit... my veins looked like they were leaping out of my palms... my skin was a horrendous shade of yellow and it wasn't coming off in a hurry.... eeeeek

So I grabbed for my usual Lush face scrub and inspected the areas I had washed with the Lush highlighter fluid (haha) and thankfully the worst was on my hands... although my underarms were a tad discoloured (yikes).

I do like the scent as it isn't strongly orange, but I don't know why my senses are picking up coconut, do NOT apply direct to your skin, apply on a shower pouf or similar. I tried to like this one I really did, I even gave it more goes than I should have... I won't be using it again however as I found my skin was really dry after. And now to work out what to do with the remainder of the medium sized bottle.

I don't love yuzu

When this was released back in January I was so excited to try it. It felt like it had been ages since Lush had released a new shower gel so I was all over it like white on rice, and ordered it quick smart before I missed my chance.

When it arrived I was in love with the gorgeous bright yellow creamy coloured gel. I flipped open the lid and took s sniff it was so subtle a slight citrus with a slight chocolate scent.

I take it to the shower and add a dash to my shower puff and get lathering, it lathers up nicely but I still can't get much of a hit of the scent it's so subtle and I'm all about the strong scents.

It leaves a kind of oily streak too which I'm not loving. I normally find Lush shower gels to be softening and slightly moisturising but this one, I'm not sure if it's a dud batch or if it's not suited to my dry skin or what but it's just slightly different.

Overall I was disappointed with this product maybe it would be better suited to someone that likes subtle scents and not so dry skin. I wouldn't repurchase.

Mmmm Chocolate Orange

I got a very generous sample of this a few Lush orders back before they changed their sample pots. I managed a weeks worth of use out of my sample and here are my thoughts!

The color of this is so gorgeous. It's bright yellow and reminds me of sunflowers or the sun, and I didn't notice any lustre in it but it appeared to have a shimmery sheen to it, which made it that much more special.

The scent of this is amazing. If you like orange chocolate (I happen to love it) then you will also love this! I have no idea what a Yuzu is but it must be a citrussy fruit and that's where the orange smell comes from. According to the wonderful Wiki its like a sour mandarin and it looks like a grapefruit. The cocoa in it gives the shower gel the chocolate smell, as well as making it slightly creamy smelling too.

This lathers like a dream and covers my body in creamy yellow bubbles and makes my senses sing as the creamy smell covers me. However. After rinsing I noticed a weird squeak when my arm brushed my body, and I hated the sensation. It's like an overly clean squeaky feeling and it's really let this shower gel down. I wouldn't repurchase this gel because of this reason.

I had a similar feeling like when you get dish soap on your hands and they're ultra clean.

It is weird! It's the only Lush gel that has done it to me - so far! I hope it is fine for you though :-) and it does smell amazing but that feeling really irks me haha

That's so weird! I have a bottle of this stashed away until I use one up first. I so hope mine doesn't give me an odd feeling.
