Christmas spirit

Oh i love the name choice for this product.

I really enjoyed using this unique body gel. it felt like christmas. I was given this as a gift, so i was a little hesistant about how it's going to work to use this. But it was easy! and the best thing about this it lasted me a few showers, longer than i thought.

It smells lovely, like all of lush products. Unique and a great gift for a friend.

Not this jelly

As much as I love Lush, I struggle with some of their more novelty items and this is one of them. I received this in a gift box. I've tried using jellies in the past without much joy so this is not something I would buy as an individual item.

I love the smell of fresh apples and the red glittery jelly looks great in the pot. I just find it so difficult to use! I tried using the whole thing, like a soap, and I spent more time picking it up off the shower floor. I've tried pinching small pieces off but this isn't easy either when the jelly is new and very firm. What I ended up doing is popping this in a wee 'cleansing net' (Google this for images of what I mean) and it produces lots of foam with a few rubs. The jelly does become less solid over time with this method and you do get some globs of jelly left in the net or all over the shower.

Overall, this just seems like too much faffing around for me. This did last we a long time (a good year beyond the expiry with no ill effects) as I just didn't reach for it often.

Tips: If you are a fan of these, keep them in the freezer in summer for a super cooling shower!

Lush Santas Belly

Shower jellys are such fun to use in the shower. You do have to be a bit careful as they are a bit slippery but you get the hang of them after a couple of showers.

Santas Belly is a glorious festive red with some glittery bits through it. It has an amazing festive fragrance with it as well, star anise, red wine and apple.

I use the shower jellys in one piece, I find them easier to hold. I dont use a shower puff like I do with shower gels, I just use the jelly on its own and it lathers nicely and feels so soft.

I always feel clean and refreshed when I have showered with a lush product and this one is no different.

Tips: Dont forget if you take back 5 empty Lush containers you will receive a free fresh face mask.

Santa's Belly

I really like the shower jelly's from Lush and grabbed this one at Christmas. Like a little semi cirlcle of red delight, the gorgeous colour is certainly attractive and the gold flecks added to the overall experience. The smell is fresh and crisp, not too sweet but it doesn't linger so won't interfere with any fragrance you wear. Lasted me a month.

Tips: Don't break pieces off. Rather use as a soap bar. I find they last better that way.

Like a bowlful of jelly!

Shower Jelly's are fun enough as they are, but having a Christmas one called Santa's Belly is even better. It is fun to shake and fun to use. Smells like heaven and looks so cool. It is the perfect gift to yourself or a loved one!

Lush Santa's Belly Mulled Wine, Apple, Cider Jelly

I really like apple scents so I purchased this online without sniffing it. When I opened it up and smelt it didn't smell bad, I guess I was more after a green apple scent but to be fair this does mention red wine and star anise. And I do like mulled wine. This jelly is soft and wobbly like the Sweetiepie and Whoosh jellies that I've used. This one does have an interesting inclusion though - golden edible stars. The ingredients are glycerine, star anise infusion, sodium laureth sulfate, propylene glycol, fresh apple juice, vegan red wine (regular red wine isn't vegan?), carrageenan extract, perfume, bergamot oil, rose absolute, neroli oil, orange flower absolute, golden edible stars, propyl methylcellulose, propylene glycol, synthetic fluorphologopite, brassica napus oil, limonene, linalool, lilial, colour 14700, colour 17200, methylparaben and propylparaben. Because of the high SLS content I can't use this more than one a week, so it's more of a treat for me rather than a daily shower jelly. It lathers up well, however if you want a lot of bubbles and foam it works better if you put a small piece in shower puff. You get a lot of foam when you do that. When I rinse it off my skin smells very faintly like the mulled wine and with a hint of apple and cider. Unfortunately, the scent doesn't last and apply moisturizer or body oil like I do after every shower and bath and the scent is gone. I do enjoy but because of the high SLS content my skin can't handle having this more than as a weekly treat, because of this I won't repurchase. But that's just me.

Tips: I get the most uses out of these shower jellies when I take the jelly out of the container and chop it into single use sized pieces and then just take a piece each time I want to use this. You do have to store the container upright because the liquid from the shower jellies leaks. Lastly, hold onto the pot when you have finished because five empty Lush pots you can exchange for a free fresh face mask.

Lush Santas Belly Shower Jelly

I did not really enjoy this product as i thought the scent was off putting. I thought it smelt like tomatoes. But the actual product was very nice and soft just like other shower jelly's. Although the tiny stars inside the product were a little annoying as they scratched my skin.

Tips: Only use a little bit as it lathers up very fast.

Santas Festive Jelly

During the boxing day sale season I grabbed myself a Santas belly gift pack. This came to me in a round tin that looks just like Santa. I'm new to using Shower jellies. I couldn't wait to give this a go.

This jelly comes in a secure clear tub with labelling that is simple and easy to read. I found this jelly to be a rich coloured red with cute little stars. To me this formula embodies the Christmas spirit. This scent reminds me of sweet crisp red apples . It's fresh and vibrant.

On one occasion I used a shower puff and instantly this jelly foams up into a fluffy white foam. When I tried a wash cloth I found it difficult to foam and jelly just flew everywhere in my shower.

I think that buying this in a gift pack was good value. I like to catch sales to save a couple of dollars. This jelly came with a tub of Red Fun which my children enjoyed. Out of one tub I have managed to get four uses out of it and theres still plenty more uses to get out of it. I would happily buy this again because I enjoy fruity scents.

Santa's Belly!

This was gifted to me by a lovely fellow BR member. I had tried a shower jelly before but not this scent. The colour immediately drew me to it so as soon as I got it I jumped in the shower to try this dude out.

All of Lush's jellies come in a clear screw top container (that can be recycled). Because this is a jelly consistency it can be a little funny to get out but what I like to do is tip the container on m my hand and hold the entire jelly and use it like that on my skin. You can also break pieces off if you like.

Although this is red it doesn't stain your skin. There are small silver stars all through this which is cute and super festive. The stars don't stick to your skin or irritate you.

As much as I like the look and feel of this, I wasn't super keen on the scent. The apple was nice but this didn't make me fall in love or look forward to the next time I could use it. If it smelled different then it would be a solid 5 stars from me. As it is, the scent isn't my favourite even though I love this kind of product.

Wobbly belly jelly

I purchased a gift pack in the boxing day sales and a 100g tub of this was inside the pack.

In a clear plastic tub with a screw top lid sat a wobbly red jelly that smells really fruity. The first thing I did was open the lid turn it upside down and plopped it into the palm of my hand, wriggled it around and watched it wobble lol. It reminds me of a upside down jelly dessert. I'm glad it's not because I would of totally eaten it haha.

Now in all honesty I myself have used this product once, my kids on the other hand? Religiously. We don't use it as a shower product. Pop a teaspoon into a sieve hold it under the running water over the bath and presto! Red water + lots of bubbles = Happy kids.

The other thing that was good with the sieve is the stars that are throughout the jelly didn't fall into the water and sick to the kids. Or as my 3 year old likes to say ' stars bugging me'.

I recommend this to my friends to use as a bubble bath product and for them to add a bit of fun to the kids baths :)

Tips: Pop some in a sieve, hold under running g water and you have a bath full of bubbles!
