Lush Lip Scrub Review

I bet I’m not the only person who heard about this product, before they heard about Lush. Before I was into my bubble bars, bath bombs, and masks, the one product I had heard about was Lush’s lip scrub. To be more specific, the bubble-gum lip scrub. I really heard about this scrub, before I heard about the brand it was from. So when clearly, this had to be the first lush product I tried, although the buying did not stop there.

This lip scrub comes in a small glass container, and honestly, I kind of found it hard to spend $12.00 on this tiny jar of product! However, peer pressure, and word of mouth told me I had to do it, so i had to purchase it. It has a small black plastic lid, and the simple lush logo’s.

Now, when you open this product, let me tell you, it is filled to the brim! I swear they have had a hard time closing that lid because there is no empty space in the glass jar at all, which is awesome because when I pay $12.00 for something that small, I don’t want half of it to be air.

This lip scrub is a beautiful candy pink, and you can see its made up of small sugar granules, that look and smell delicious.. Okay it also tastes delicious. I mean how could I have used this product, and not tasted it. I use my finger to get some product out of the glass jar, and use my finger to rub this product over my damp lips. A process I do over the sink because boy, can it get messy quickly. As lips are one of the most sensitive areas on your face, you will be happy to know that I found the lip scrub really gentle, and the scrub does a pretty good job at getting the dead skin off my lip, and leaves my lips feeling soft, and smooth, without feeling dried out, or sensitive.

This is a decent product to have in your home. It is a wee bit expensive for a lips scrub, and I do think it would be pretty easy to make your own at a cheaper price, which might not smell or taste as good, but would do pretty much the same thing. This isn’t my favourite lip scrub because of the price, and the mess factor, but it is okay so I would repurchase it, but most likely when it is on sale.

I love this product. I usually use mint julip which is delicious mixfof mint and chocolate. Also have cola and popcorn to mix it up some days. The cola is the best for not separating.

I keep it in reach of the shower and use after cleansing which cuts down on mess from droped product.

Using it everyday in winter along stoped me from getting cracked lips even once (un heard of for me).

This is amazing! I purchased the Mint Julips Scrub and I absolutely love it! Tastes just like mint chocolate biscuits and my lips feel so soft afterwards.

I finally got around to visiting a Lush store over the weekend, and bought home this little beauty in Mint Julip. Firstly I'll comment on the price. I've never tried any other store bought scrubs, so can't compare it in that way, but I have made my own. From a quick glance at the ingredients list I see that this is pretty similar to a home made sugar scrub, only it smells a lot better. Obviously a home made scrub doesn't cost anywhere near $12 to make, but for the convenience of having a scrub in a pot I'm happy to pay for Lush's product, especially when supporting such a progressive brand. The scrub itself smells amazing. You only need a little bit to rub on your lips, and because you don't have to wipe it off it's easy to use on the run. They have used castor sugar in the scrub which has quite large granules, I do think I get a better exfoliating result when using finer sugar, but this still does the trick. I use a little tiny bit every morning before chapstick, it gives my lips a smooth, tingly feel and makes your lipstick look so much better!

Oh this lip scrub comes in a little glass jar with a black screw top lid. This xmas scrubb I got is a beautiful shade of red and does smell of xmas, smells a little bit of cola and xmas spice and it looks amazing sitting in this wee jar and it smells eatable. So I stick my finger in and scoop out a blob, it feels very heavy and the beads of scrubb are quite big. So I slap this on my lips that are moist with a little water and rub this scrub around. It feels quite nice and tastes ok as a little bit gets in my mouth so I'm not eating it I can just taste it. I find it quite hard to scrub just my lips, so lips and surrounding area get done, and when I look up into the mirror I look like a clown trying to remove my red lipstick. Ha ha my mouth is red with this stuff all over my mouth, so I give it a good rinse and then I have to pick some wee bits of red scrub bits off. Hmmmm well I can't wait to get through the pottle then chuck it and I won't buy any ever again. It was not what I expected, the scrub itself was just too sticky and the beads off scrubb didn't really do much scrubbing and the red nearly stained my face, I was so disappointed as I've brought this for presents for people before and had never tried it. I'm bad.

I bought this cute product because of the DELICIOUS smell! In true Lush form, the smell makes the experience of using the product very enjoyable. This product did as promised- it scrubbed my lips, making them silky smooth and, as a bonus, I got to lick off the extra sugar. The only real downside (and in all honesty, the reason I haven't used this product much) is that it is MESSY! However, it does its job and is scrumptious about it, so it's not a big deal getting sugar on the floor. :)

My daughter bought this product & kindly lets me use some (not too much though!!). We both love it as after using it your lips feel soooooo smooth & it tastes delicious too!

I adore this lip scrub! I have had 3 little containers of this and i love it! I always get the bubblegum flavour because it's just so delicious, but the mint one smells lovely, and i saw a popcorn flavour last time, might have to try that. I use this at night; i was my makeup off with Lush Ultrabland, remove with i hot face cloth, then take a tiny amount of this scrub (like, half a pea size) and scrub it into my lips for about 20 seconds. Remove it with the hot cloth, and then put Lucas Paw Paw on. Leaves lips feeling super soft and I find I don't need too much moisturization during the day (I wear a lot of matte lipsticks and this can be drying, but the scrub really helps remove old skin) and who wants patchy looking matte lips?!?

I received Lush Lip Scrub in Mint Julip as part of a gift set as a Christmas Present. I was super excited to trial this product as I love the concept.

The lip scrub comes in a glass pottle with a screw tip lid and the iconic Lush logo. I am not a huge fan of the packaging as I dislike putting my finger into product and would prefer to be able to squeeze it out.

Mint Julip smells incredible! It has a strong peppermint smell at first and then is rounded out with yummy chocolate notes. I couldn't wait to get started and knew I would be licking this scrub off rather than wiping it off!

The scrub is quite dry through the top layers which I expected after reading a few reviews. I used a spoon to mix it all up which really helped to distribute the oils through consistently. Another tip I picked up was to use the scrub using the tooth brush which I also followed.

The scrub is lovely and gritty without being too harsh, it made my lips tingle and as expected, I had a wee taste and was pleasantly surprised. I would have liked more moisturing oils and butters as afterwards my lips felt quite dry, This product will last and last as you only need a little bit. I use it once a week as I find my lips can't take much more exfoliating and end up too dry.

I got this given to me by my friend, I have it in the bubblegum flavour. It does taste really good and the product itself is quite effective but I just didn't like it. It wasn't the product for me. Its not something I would like to lick off my lips along with the skin and I know you can wipe it off too but the sugar just gets all over my mouth area and chin and its gets too sticky.. It would be better if you did it in your shower routine but when you're in a rush and NEED softer lips its not ideal unless you like having sugar all over your face :P
