Dead skin removal

In Australia whime getting our nails done, my Mum and I watched the most unreal thing we've ever seen. The nail salon worker was scraping the bottom of this man's foot with a tool I'd never seen before. He mentioned how it was removing all the dead skin from the bottom of his feet. Really it looked like chunks were being removed from the soles of his feet.

My Mum had the same 'treatment' done with this tool, much similar to the manicure product above, however a little bigger in size. Her feet looked incredible afterwards! Back home in NZ she purchased this tool so she could have the same salon treatment but at home.

One night we sat down and decided a bit of foot pamper was in order. Foot soak, nails done etc etc. With her feet soaking for 3-4 minutes like directed on the packaging we talked about how well this might work, if it'd be the same as what she had done in Australia or not considering it was labelled for callouses . Sadly it wasn't that great! It removed little flakes of dry skin from the bottoms of her feet. But didn't make a dent in her callous.

My turn! I decided I'd soak my feet a little longer as the bottoms of my feet are quite hard and damaged with dry, dead flaky skin. After almost 10 minutes I planed down my foot, and noticed it wasn't at all removing much of anyhing, I wasn't expecting a lot, but was still expecting something. So I decided to go in the opposite direction. And wha laa! What a difference it made. Removing quite thicker portions of dead flaky skin with out removing 'new skin' however still no salon results. Still nowhere like the results in salon.

I honestly think this is a handy tool, but I think it's best for the up keep between visiting a nail/foot salon/spa. It'll remove the dry flakyness from the bottoms of the feet but it won't remove the build up of tough dry dead skin or callouses on the feet or even smooth them out.

Pros? It has replacement blades, super sharp! So be super careful. Even when using the tool, you don't want to add to much pressure as you don't want to cut the skin you just want to be able to scrape the dead skin off.
