Not like a straightner

Got this as a present from hubby. Not ever sure if i used it right but i didnt fell in love with it as i hoped. It comes in a very lovely flip open green and purple box.

I have straight thick hair so i thought this would be tho perfect quick get ready tric but i didnt like it. It made my hair a little traighter but it didnt take the fizz away and to get the result that i wanted it still had to pin my hair up and straight it in sections. Even more time consuming than a straightner. I have it but im not using it.

Glad I didn't pay full price

I first saw this product online and couldn't believe it could be that simple. I am very lazy with my straighteners and felt the brush option would be a lot simpler. I researched online and found the Dafni product on a Chinese website for a fraction of the price advertised. The brush has hard bristles which heat up, and once applied and brushed slowly through hair should straighten just like normal straighteners. I find the time to heat up the brush is a lot longer than my straighteners, and that the power button is in an awkward spot (as I quite often press whilst brushing and power off) however I am happy with straightening results for the amount of effort I have to put in. My hair is not overly frizzy but if I brush through the same spot 2-3 times I am happy with results.

Tips: Shop around for best price

Not as good as the straightening irons

Quite simply, I regret this purchase. I basically threw away my money.

As soon as I heard about this last year I jumped online and bought one from Australia for AU$299.

It is a brush shaped object, with solid, hard bristles like a comb, with the ones on the inside heated. It takes literally 10 seconds to heat up but it's best to leave it heating for a minute or two so it's at full temperature.

To use it you need to make sure your hair is bone dry, all heat protectant is dry etc much the same as regular irons. You need to brush your hair with a regular brush as you go, the dafni will not brush your hair.

So starting at the top of a small section you run the dafni through your hair, holding the end of your hair and pressing the dafni onto your hair firmly so that your hair goes into the dafni's bristles. You have to go slowly and I recommend doing it in sections - there's nothing worse than moving your head to reveal hair underneath that's all kinky still! It's actually a lot harder than just brushing your hair. If you have pretty great hair already, no frizz, basically straight, this would probably work fine, but my hair has frizz is quite wavy - the exact reason you use a straightener - and so Dafni just isn't good enough, the finished look is not super sleek like with my ghds, it's still got a lot of 'boof' in it and it doesn't last very long either - by lunch the frizz and curls are back.

As for saving time, it may be a smidge quicker, only a smidge, and the results just don't compare - irons all the way baby.

Simply brush your hair and it will be straight? NO this is not the case.

If you have the money for this then just get a pair of GHD's.

Tips: Try a $30 type one first, then if you like it go ahead and get this one, I bet you just stick with the $30 one or go back to regular irons.

I'm keen to try a brush straightener, so thanks for the advice. I'll try The Warehouse Living & Co brand.
