Can't fault!

Thank you BR for selecting me for this trial! A little background of my personal third-world hair problems..my hair gets extremely oily on top, my hair is thin/limp & my ends are dry - hence I wash & condition my hair daily to keep these things at bay. That means, blow drying & hair straightening everyday too which is all just time consuming & costly. To finally have a range specifically made for oily roots & dry ends, to me, is kind of a big deal!

This range includes a Detox Clay Mask Pre-Shampoo Treatment; Rebalancing Shampoo; Detox Conditioner & Dry Shampoo. I won't divulge into too much detail of each product because we have to review each product individually but more review them as a range.

They are all packaged with the same coloured bottles & slightly darker mint/green lid & all in your typical shampoo/conditioner solid packaging. They all have the same scent too which is a nice refreshing scent which isn't too strong.

These products claim to give you 72hours of fresh & lightweight roots, scalp feels balanced and ends are hydrated. I found that on day 3, my scalp still felt "dry", my ends & top did look a little bit limp - but neither looked dirty. The dry shampoo worked a treat (which I've never experienced with any other dry shampoo), just a spray all over my roots as directed, waiting a couple of minutes before brushing through, styling & my hair looked fresh as the first day of washing - so much so I had no anxiety about leaving the house with my hair down! Oh and I have to mention how shiny my hair still looked.

Overall this range has definitely surprised me, over 15 years of living with oily roots & dry ends I was kind of sceptical about it having not found any product that lived up to their claims! I definitely recommend this range.

Tips: Can't think of anything specific except follow the instructions on the packaging & if you feel like you should shampoo & wash just leave it - the dry shampoo will sort it out (based on my personal experience).

A really nice hair care range

I was fortunate enough to be in the trial for this product and I can say I really liked it! The packaging is really nice and the whole product range smells like a sea breeze.

Hair mask: this is a really thick green colour (same colour as the packaging). I found it a little difficult to apply as I have a lot of hair. It was difficult to get it into the scalp rather than just on my hair. This product is meant to help balence your scalp and I did notice my roots were less oily and my scalp felt nice, but I can't say it was so amazing that I would purchase this. Perhaps if you have really oily hair (more than mine) it would make a difference?

Shampoo: love the shampoo, you don't need to apply a lot as this lathers up sooooooooo much. Smells awesome and leaves my hair feeling nice and clean afterwards. I can defiantly see this shampoo becoming my go to. Easily one of the best supermarket shampoos I've tried.

Conditioner: The conditioner accompanying this shampoo is really nice, I applied it to the middle of my hair and ends as directed. It has defiantly helped with dry ends, they have basically disappeared. I can tie my hair up in a bun (which normally dries out the ends so badly) and my hair is as good as new. Would defiantly recommend this with the shampoo.

Dry Shampoo: I was really impressed with this, dare I say I think I like it better than my Batiste dry shampoo? this doesn't leave a weird white film in the hair like the batiste does. Shamefully I have gone almost a whole week without washing my hair due to the magic of this dry shampoo. This dry shampoo is like magic on your hair.

Over all I really like this range, my hair is soft and shiny and not nearly as frizzy. I would defiantly purchase the shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo. They only thing I feel that wasn't as good as the rest of the range is the hair mask, and that's not to say it wasn't good, just not as good. Perhaps it just isn't right for my hair. If you have super oily hair give it a go and it may work better for you.

For the price point, this range is awesome, make sure you check it out!

Tips: When applying the hair mask split your hair into sections (with hair ties) for easier application

Clay Range

I am a girl who usually washes her hair every day as I have very oily roots and hate the look of it. since using the L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Range i have been able to go 2-3 days between washes. I will definitely be using this range again!

All 4 of the products have the same clean, fresh smell that is gorgeous. The aqua packaging is very appealing too. I started off by using the Pre-Shampoo Clay mask. The custard like cream came in a rather large tub and was easily applied once you got the hang of it. Initially a bit messy and time consuming trying to segment hair to ensure to only get it in the roots. Once rinsed out I followed with the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo lathered excellently and a little amount went along way. Once washed out, my hair felt cleansed and almost squeaky to touch. I used the conditioner only on the lower half of my hair, avoiding the roots. It made my hair feel very moisturised and silky to touch. Once dry, my hair looked very shiny, bouncy at the roots and was soft to touch. It was easy to style and there seemed to be less knots in it than usual. The dry shampoo I liked the least out of the 4 products as it only removed a small proportion of oil residue and found it left my hair quite damp after using it. However on a positive it did not leave any powdery residue like other dry shampoos do and smelt amazing. Overall I recommend this product range for anyone like me with oily roots that wants to make them a thing of the past!

Elvive Extraordinary clay range

I was very excited to be chosen for this trial and keen to try it out. By the time it arrived I just had a week to trial it so I hope that is enough to give it a good chance. 1. Clay mask - I found this quite messy and fiddly to apply, it took time to get a good coverage all over so is something you need to set aside time for. But it was easy to rinse out though which was good. I've used it twice now and while I can see a small improvement in my oiliness it certainly wasn't the miracle product I expected.

2. Shampoo - I really liked this shampoo and will most likely use it again. It left my hair feeling light and clean which is something I find hard to get in many shampoos.

3. Conditioner - This was my favourite of the 4 products and one I will definitely purchase again. It felt so lovely to apply and left my hair feeling so soft and silky. It was really easy to brush and style after as well.

4. Dry shampoo - The best part of this product was the smell. It doesn't leave a white film on your hair like other dry shampoos I've used but I'm mixed as to whether it's any good or not. I will give it a few more trys to really decide if I'd buy it again.

Overall the packaging of these products is great, such a pretty colour and wonderful that the bottles have flat lids and can be stood upside down (I dislike having to shake a bottle like mad to get anything out of it). One week probably wasn't enough time to give these products a fair go so I will continue using them to see how it goes. It wasn't the oil-be-gone miracle I was hoping for but it has made some difference. The shampoo and conditioner I will more than likely buy again but am undecided on the mask and dry shampoo

No More Oily Hair

I have very oily & greasy hair. I should be washing my hair every day but being a lazy person, I do it every other day. Which means hair gets tied on the unwashed days. I was quite excited when I read about L'Oreal Clay hair care range. And couldn't wait to try it. And am so glad I did. Masque - It looked different from other masques I have used. But boy, was it fantastic. It smells a lot like the clay masque I apply on my face, kind of earthy. The texture is a bit slimy and applying was a bit of an experience. My hair was quite stiff after the application. I waited 5 minutes as per the instructions. Shampoo - I am quite used to using shampoos with fragrance. This one had none and its not a bad thing. I didn't need to use much, just a dollop. There is a lot of foam, felt a bit heavier than other shampoos. But hair felt soft once washed and not snappy as with other shampoos Conditioner - Like the shampoo, no fragrance. Didn't need to use much. Washed off the hair and once almost dry, straightened it. I was so impressed with the result. They felt light, luscious and beautiful. Best part is I didn't need to wash them again till the 3rd day. That is so amazing. I absolutely love this range. I used the shampoo/conditioner with & without the masque. The result was the same. Also, reduction in hair fall. The shower drain hole had less hair than normal. And lastly, I use a product when I use a straightener or a blow dryer. But I didn't have to use anything after using these fantastic clay products. One less thing to worry about. Dry Shampoo - This was the only product that wasn't effective on my hair. I am currently using a product I bought from US which gives my hair a lot of volume. Whereas the L'Oreal product didn't. It made it a little less oily but I did have to put up my hair. I couldn't leave them open. So overall a big tick to the masque, shampoo & conditioner but no to the Dry Shampoo.

Tips: These products can be used separately and don't need to be used together.

L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Range

I have been struggling with oily hair for longer than I care to remember, so I was excited to try a new system. The packaging looks great, its a lovely colour, and the instructions are clear and easy to read. I'm not overly keen on the smell of the products. Its not unpleasant, just not to my personal taste. Using the mask before the shampoo and conditioner definitely extended the time of my haircare routine, and as a busy mum its not something I would find the time to do overly often. Its great for a bit of self-pampering though, as it kind of feels like your having some salon treatment at home. After using the system, my hair felt very light and soft. Much nicer than it usually is after washing. The feeling lasted for about 3 days before starting to get a little oily, which is slightly longer than what is normal for me. Once it started showing the oil I tried the dry shampoo, but it didn't help very much. Overall I quite like this range of products. The mask is time consuming, so I wouldn't use it often, but the shampoo and conditioner are wonderful. I don't think I would use the dry shampoo again, however.

Tips: If you want to use the whole system, make sure you're not in a rush. Its pretty time consuming.

L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Range

I was sent the range to review, and I was super excited to try the products - the description pretty accurately sums up my hair situation, but I was sceptical as I’ve never really had great luck at combating the problem long term.

I loved the idea of a clay mask for hair, however I wasn’t sure how to apply it so ended up putting it on my roots like I would if I was dyeing my hair (however usually a friend would do this so it felt weird to try doing it myself!). I’d like if it said how often to apply it, or even a rough guide of exactly how much I should be applying. It’s not really practical to use it every time. When I was washing it out, I never actually saw the product being washed out like the instructions said I would - it made me wonder if I was using enough, or getting rid of it all. It made my hair feel super soft after it was washed out, but then the shampoo left a too squeaky clean feeling which was kind of a bummer. Overall, I didn’t really notice it doing anything, or a difference in the days after using it before the other products, compared to going straight to the shampoo.

The shampoo leaves me with that too squeaky clean feeling. Other than that, it feels like any other run of the mill shampoo, as does the conditioner. You don’t need a lot of either product each time which is great, I found myself squeezing out too much conditioner the first couple of times I used it (I think because of the bottle design). I also found I was left with the same amount of time where my hair felt good enough not to rewash it - every day or every second day at most, which was quite disappointing.

I generally wash my hair at night, then blow dry it until it’s at least semi-dry. I’m not going to try the dry shampoo the morning after I wash it - that would defeat the purpose of even washing it. And I’m not going to start washing my hair in the morning either, I like sleep too much. So I only used the dry shampoo a couple of times, however I found I ended up washing my hair about as frequently as I was before - every second day usually. I really liked that the dry shampoo didn’t leave a residue, however I’m not sure if it actually worked as well as my usual dry shampoo go to anyway.

Overall, I wasn’t as impressed with the range as I hoped I would be. Love the scent of the shampoo and conditioner (it’s a bit overwhelming in the dry shampoo even though it is the same scent), and the sleek packaging of all 4 products. Each product worked okay on its own and together (and didn’t make my hair any worse), but it wasn’t a fix to my oily hair issues. I found they left it in basically the same condition as most other products do. I don’t think I’d buy the range again as there are cheaper alternatives. I was hoping for more - the best features were the scent and the novelty of the hair mask. I felt I could sub in a different shampoo/conditioner with the rest of the range and I’d get the same results.

Clay Range

Overall I loved all of the products. The clay mask works great with the shampoo and conditioner meaning I didn't have to wash my hair as often. I found it left my hair feeling soft and clean and certainly not looking as limp as it usually does. The dry shampoo was great as a quick refresh in between washes. The scent of these products aside from the clay mask is nice and lasts all day for me, which I really like. Both the shampoo and conditioner seem thicker than others so you don't need as much, and only applying shampoo to roots and conditioner to the lengths and not roots mean you don't need as much also. I did find that being cleaner these products except the dry shampoo left my hair more knotty. Brushing hair before washing does help a little. I also found that the dry shampoo lessened the knots in my hair and it was more manageable. For me personally I have found these products to be great for my hair.

Tips: Clay mask is best used when you have a bit of extra time.

LOVE some, not so much others.

This is a really interesting range and an awesome concept to address oily roots while still moisturising, the range in general totally did this.

I LOVE the shampoo and conditioner, they rival my salon brands and I will absolutely repurchase. The pre-shampoo clay mask I could take or leave, it seems to work but it's pretty cumbersome. The dry shampoo unfortunately didn't work for me so I won't repurchase.

I love the shampoo and conditioner so much that they are the influence for my high rating. It has been such a joy to find a product the controls oil without stripping and leaves my damaged ends feeling really soft and hydrated.

I have reviewed each individual item in detail but as a range, if you suffer oiliness, I would absolutely recommend giving this a go including the pre-shampoo mask!

Tips: Give yourself ample time if using the clay mask and skip the dry shampoo.

Combination Hair, Nightmare No More!

Like my combination skin, my hair becomes oily at the roots very quickly while the ends remain quite dry, so I was over the moon when I was picked to trial L’Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Range.

Firstly, the L’Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Range consists of 4 products which are a Detox Clay Mask, Rebalancing Shampoo, Detox Conditioner and a Dry Shampoo and come in eye-catching, aqua blue colour, sturdy packaging. Both the Rebalancing Shampoo and the Detox Conditioner have flat lids that open and close easily and the product dispensed, is easily controlled. The whole range has a gorgeously fresh, light smell.

To start with, I used the Detox Clay Mask which is a pre-shampoo treatment and designed to be used once or twice a week. The product is the same aqua blue colour as the packaging and is of a thick consistency. The Clay Mask works by absorbing excessive oils and impurities, thoroughly cleansing the scalp and removes any product build-up that tends to weigh hair down. I massaged plenty of this clay masque into my roots using my fingertips, left it for 5 minutes and then rinsed off ready to apply the Rebalancing Shampoo. At this stage, my hair felt clean, refreshed and the product was soothing to my scalp.

I massaged the Rebalancing Shampoo into my scalp using my fingertips causing the shampoo to lather up nicely. The Rebalancing Shampoo is not too thick and not too watery, a perfect shampoo consistency and washed out easily leaving no residue.

Next, I applied the Detox Conditioner, paying particular attention to my dry ends. I left the conditioner on my hair for 3 minutes before combing through and then rinsed leaving my dry ends feeling hydrated, softer and tangle free.

After blow drying, my hair felt super clean, light and so lovely and soft and after 72 hours, just a tiny bit of oil on my fringe (I expect from the oily skin on my forehead), so I gave the Dry Shampoo a go. I sprayed my hair with the product which dispensed as a fine mist and left for 2 minutes, after which I brushed through leaving no trace of any powder or residue whatsoever. Just lovely, clean, shiny hair :).

Tips: Apply the Detox Conditioner to mid lengths and ends.
